Apparitions" is a supernatural drama series about a priest (Martin Shaw, "The Chief") who is working to promote candidates for sainthood and becomes drawn into the world of exorcism as he discovers a dark battle between good and evil.

Father Jacob is approached for help with an exorcism by a young girl who believes her father is possessed. Meawhile, one of Jacob's students who was once cured of leprosy by Mother Theresa is expelled by the Church for his homosexuality and falls victim to a larger demonic conspiracy.
S1.E2 ∙ Episode #1.2
Father Jacob realizes that his work is putting his friends in danger and decides to confront the possessed homeless man that murdered and skinned his student. Meanwhile, Cardinal Bukovak begins to block Father Jacob's efforts to continue his exorcisms.
S1.E3 ∙ Episode #1.3
Despite pressure from the Catholic Church to stop performing exorcisms, Jacob visits a prisoner who displays signs of possession.
S1.E4 ∙ Episode #1.4
Father Jacob is called to an abortion clinic in order to investigate two mysterious pregnancies. The first is an elderly Italian woman who wishes to end her pregnancy while the second is a young teenage girl who shows signs of demonic possession.

Father Jacob investigates a young Muslim boy who claims to have visions of the Virgin Mary. The boy is convinced that his father is in hell and wants to force a priest to do a reverse exorcism in order to free his father's soul from eternal torment.
S1.E6 ∙ Episode #1.6
Father Jacob is possessed and is tormented by demons who prevent him from being able to pray. Meanwhile, Sister Ruth and Father Daniel discover evidence of a plot to assassinate the Pope. Father Jacob must get himself exorcised and must stop Michael before he kills the pontiff.
