Sam struggles to connect with Max, taking her out to lunch where she interferes in another couple's date. Max finally admits to her mother's friends that she's afraid she doesn't have much of a future. Duke takes her savings to the bank.

Frankie tricks Sam into going to the Mormon church with Duke's friend Morgan and her mother Trinity. Sam and Max escalate their fights over Max's hostile behavior.

Sam explains to Max's friend Harvey why she doesn't trust him around her daughter. Frankie tells Sam she isn't fun anymore and Sam injures her foot trying to prove her wrong. A meeting with Frankie's teacher takes an odd turn.

A typical day for Sam where she struggles to get her girls off to school when Duke tries to stay home sick. Later Frankie is sent home and Sam tries to explain she has work but also personal obligations that she needs to attend to. Turns out Frankie has issues in School.
