A body flies out of an exploding meth lab. As the team tries to identify the body, Booth works on a big case which could boost his career, but he's distracted when his brother shows up and shows some interest in Bones.

Bones and Booth fly to China so Brennan can identify some remains. During the flight, a body is discovered inside an oven. Bones and Booth must solve the crime before the flight lands in China.

Brennan and Booth investigate the remains of a bodyguard of two children who attend a high security school for the children of important people. Also, Cam hires Brennan's father as a teacher which causes some conflicts for Bones.

The remains of a set of conjoined twins are found on an oil field. When they find out the twins worked at a circus, Bones and Booth go undercover to find the culprit.

The body of a victim is found in a frozen lake. Booth identifies the body as a rival hockey player, making Booth a suspect in the crime. Now the Squints have to work with a new agent to solve the crime.

Also, Bones tries to work on her interpersonal skills.

The remains of a volleyball player are found in a Salt Truck. They discover that she was pregnant, and that several of her friends are also pregnant.
S4.E18 ∙ The Doctor in the Den
The murder of a doctor at a Wildlife Reserve gets a little personal for Cam, when the victim turns out to be a former paramour. Angela tries to go celibate to work on her relationship issues.
S4.E19 ∙ The Science in the Physicist
The frozen shattered remains of a scientist leads the team to a highly regarded research institute. Angela's father comes to town.
S4.E20 ∙ The Cinderella in the Cardboard
The flattened remains of a woman are found in a recycling plant, leading the team to a wedding planner, the woman's fiancee, and the owner of an online dating service. As the Squints work to solve the case, Bones and Booth are at odds when it appears that someone they know is cheating on a friend/colleague.

Skeletal remains used by a Norwegian Black Metal Band lead the team to explore the underground music scene. Gordon-Gordon prepares to retire from psychology, but not before meeting with Sweets and helping Bones and Booth solve their current case.

The remains of a college student are found in a mascot costume from a rival college. As the squints investigate how the body got in there, Booth finds out what his brother plans on doing with his life after his court martial.

Bones returns from Guatemala as Booth is finally cleared for duty; Booth is anxious to prove he's fully recovered, even accepting help from Angela's psychic. Things take an interesting turn when the psychic informs them that there is a mass grave underneath a fountain.
S5.E2 ∙ The Bond in the Boot
A diamond courier carrying a briefcase is killed. State Department requests discretion while investigating due to National Security concerns. Meanwhile, Wendell loses his scholarship, and Booth tries to relearn plumbing techniques.

Bones and Booth investigate the murder of an Amish piano prodigy.
S5.E4 ∙ The Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
A corpse found roasted in a neighborhood party barbecue pit is identified as missing dentist Kurt Bissette. He had not only upset neighbors with his windmill and by nearly poisoning the gay couple's dog but probably was a blackmailer. Trey Johnson, the owners society's handsome young gardener, isn't the only one enjoying residents' infidelity, which isn't the only possible secret or motive either. Meanwhile young Parker seems worried about Booth's lack of female company. Sweets figures out why Arastoo faked his accent.
S5.E5 ∙ A Night at the Bones Museum
Brennan and Booth are called to investigate what appears to be charred human remains on an electrical fence. The mysterious corpse is later determined to be a mummified Egyptian royal on loan to the Jeffersonian. The anthropological mystery has Brennan in a tizzy, and when the Jeffersonian curator prepping the mummy for exhibition is murdered, the team suspects foul play. Brennan's investigation of the curator sheds new light on the life of the Egyptian royal, turning their case into one of historic proportions. Meanwhile, Brennan goes on a date with Booth's supervisor and former intern, and Sweets' girlfriend Daisy Wick returns to the Jeffersonian.
S5.E6 ∙ The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken
When the remains of a local chicken farmer is found, the Jeffersonian team is brought in on the case. The team must question the farmer's many enemies in order to solve the case. Meanwhile, Angela launches her own animal-rights campaign.
S5.E7 ∙ The Dwarf in the Dirt
Booth, still suffering from his brain surgery, has to get re-certified for FBI marksmanship. Meanwhile, the team investigates the remains of a little person discovered in a sinkhole. The victim, Bryce DaFonte, also known as "The Iron Leprechaun," competed in a popular wrestling league, the popularity left him with many enemies.
S5.E8 ∙ The Foot in the Foreclosure
In Howard Fileman's house, which is for sale, estate agent Katie Selnick and two prospective buyers discover a corpse, charred except for a fat foot. Clever forensics gradually show it was actually two people, a fat man and PriceCo saleswoman Meg Tracy, who recently lost half her excessive weight and met her lover in a fetishist club. Seeley however is greatly distracted by a surprise visits from Hank 'Pops' Booth, who left his retirement home after hitting a male nurse and now tries to "correct" Booth's life, but rather lost control of his own.
S5.E9 ∙ The Gamer in the Grease
Mailman Steve Rifton's corpse is found in frying fat, hence extremely decayed over two weeks. He was reported missing for three months. The highly intelligent man's passion was the computer game Punky Pong. He recently lost the world record, which was bitterly contested. Both motive and means require several theories based on forensic findings until things start fitting. Meanwhile Jeffersonian intern Colin Fischer gets three Avatar tickets, which also excites Hodgins and Sweets, so they cover for each-other to take turns standing in line for the best seats. Colin's tent however offers an unexpected alternative 'entertainment' for two.
S5.E10 ∙ The Goop on the Girl
When a man dressed as Santa Claus blows himself up during a botched bank robbery, Brennan and Booth work to identify the bomber and determine his motives. Meanwhile, Brennan makes plans to spend Christmas in El Salvador, but her father convinces her to spend the holidays with him and Margaret Whitesell, a newly discovered distant relative.
S5.E11 ∙ The X in the File
An out-of-this-world case brings Brennan and Booth to New Mexico where they investigate human remains with extraterrestrial attributes. The victim is identified as a local UFO fanatic, known around town for her relentless search for alien life forms and whose latest "evidence" leads even Brennan and Booth to re-think outside existence. Meanwhile, a local sheriff refuses to release the bones, forcing the team at the Jeffersonian to work via satellite, and Angela and Jeffersonian intern Wendell come clean about their relationship.
S5.E12 ∙ The Proof in the Pudding
Mr. White and his team of government agents put the Jeffersonian Lab on lock down and demand that Brennan and her forensics team determine a cause of death for an unidentified, but highly classified set of remains. As the team gets to work, their findings lead them to suspect they are investigating one of the most famous presidential assassinations in history. Meanwhile, Booth's boss, Andrew Hacker, helps him break into the lab and determine the motive behind the mystery investigation, and a frustrated Cam worries that Michelle may be keeping a big secret from her.
S5.E13 ∙ The Dentist in the Ditch
When a human skeleton is discovered in the trenches of an old Civil War battleground, Brennan and Booth are called to the case. Despite the historical location, Brennan quickly identifies the bones as belonging to Dan Pinard, a present-day local dentist. While Booth investigates suspects, including the victim's former boyfriend, Hodgins and lab intern Vincent Nigel-Murray work doggedly to clean the bones of a stubborn clay residue which is preventing the team from determining a cause of death. Meanwhile, Booth's brother, Jared, returns from his travels with some surprising news.
S5.E14 ∙ The Devil in the Details
Brennan and Booth investigate a set of uniquely disfigured remains allegorizing biblical text. As they acquire more information about the victim, a former patient of Dr. Adam Copeland at Havenhurst Sanitarium, they are confronted with suspects who are hard to characterize as either good or evil. Meanwhile, Jeffersonian intern Arastoo Vaziri reveals a secret about his past.
S5.E15 ∙ The Bones on the Blue Line
When a subway train is thrown off the track by 60,000 gallons of flood water, a partially skeletonized body emerges out of the overflow. While Dr. Sweets, a passenger on the derailed train, copes with post traumatic stress, the rest of the team and intern Daisy Wick get to work on identifying the victim as Martin Aragon, a professional ghost writer caught up in a deadly love triangle. Meanwhile, Brennan releases her second book to great success, but has to accommodate a nosy reporter, and Sweets' near-death experience leads him to make a drastic decision.
S5.E16 ∙ The Parts in the Sum of the Whole
The milestone 100th episode takes viewers back in time six years as Brennan and Booth recount the first case they worked on together. With Sweets finishing his book on their partnership, Brennan and Booth take this opportunity to set the record straight. A young and rebellious FBI Agent Booth seeks the help of an team of anthropological scientists and a street artist to find the evidence that will prove his high-profile suspect guilty. Although in unfamiliar territory, Dr. Brennan, her grad student Zack and Hodgins get right to work, impressing Booth with their knack for uncovering new leads and substantiating his theory about a well-connected district judge. While the case cements a foundation for a successful future partnership, it also reveals the convoluted romantic beginnings of the formidable duo - whose feelings for each other almost destroyed the team but still linger years later.

The team's latest case takes Brennan back to her alma mater, Burtonsville High School, where she and Booth investigate the discovery of an unidentified skull and upper torso. With Angela's help, they identify the victim as one of Brennan's classmates, and notice a possible connection to a second murder committed 15 years prior. Brennan and Booth go undercover as a married couple at her class reunion to interrogate a set of suspects, where even as an adult, Brennan is still predictably misunderstood and her only friend lies in a strangely dark and offbeat janitor. Meanwhile, Hodgins spills a lab secret.

When human remains are discovered in the belly of a shark, Brennan and Booth are brought in to identify the missing person. Evidence suggesting the victim had been the prey of several fish directs the team's investigation to The Aquarium of the Atlantic, where a guest lecturer and notorious self-help guru preaching the healing power of the ocean has gone missing. Meanwhile, both Brennan and Booth navigate their own relationship when a marine biologist shows interest in Booth.
S5.E19 ∙ The Rocker in the Rinse Cycle
When the body of a rich adventure-seeker is found in a hotel laundry machine, Booth and Brennan are led to the last place he was seen: a Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp. While Brennan and Booth lead the investigation outside the lab, Hodgins, Angela and intern Arastoo use a fragment of prehistoric woolly mammoth tusk - found with the remains - and Angela's knowledge of the music industry to connect the evidence to potential suspects. Meanwhile, Cam looks for a doctor for her daughter Michelle.

When Booth and Brennan are called to investigate decomposed remains found at the Jersey Shore, the team IDs the victim as Richie "The V" Genaro, a 23-year-old who partied the night before at a popular nightclub. After a skull and decomposing hands are found in a dumpster, the team must not only solve the crime but also search for the rest of the victim's remains. Identified as Ray Raminsky, the victim turns out to be a bounty hunter in search of Charles Braverman, a man indicted for the murder of a co-worker. Meanwhile, Brennan is asked by Professor Bunsen Jude "The Science Dude" if he can shoot an episode of his children's show from The Jeffersonian Lab with Brennan as his special guest. Brennan initially turns him down, but is surprised when he makes her a deal she can't refuse, so she takes him on as a new "squintern." As the team pieces together the details of the crime, they discover that they are not alone in the hunt for Braverman and find themselves in a chase with an unexpected suspect.

On an isolated construction site, a skateboarder falls over a bump in a concrete slate - part of a young man's skull, identified from a rare dental tattoo as missing former ballet dancer Michael, who left the art to join street hip-hop art at a park with magician Johnny Wizard's informal, yet surprisingly competitive gang. The team follows a mold trace. Booth is however no less preoccupied by the safety of his lover, White House correspondent Hannah Burley, whose investigation for petty police corruption in D.C. proves physically dangerous.

The past and present collide when human remains from a 150-year-old slave ship, the Amalia Rose, surface. The team is tasked to give the deceased a proper burial but make an unforeseen discovery linked to a recent murder. In the course of the investigation, Booth and Brennan are led to a different kind of ship - a "Cougar" cruise - where they learn their victim was seen moments before his death. Meanwhile, Sweets struggles to maintain a casual relationship with Daisy, and Cam discovers a surprising and emotional connection to the Amalia Rose.

As a student-teacher relationship begins to surface and a pattern takes shape in the lab, the team is able to track down the murder weapon and solve the crime. The team learns that the victim supplied counterfeit purses to her socialite acquaintance, and after interrogating the self-centered socialite and sifting through footage on a hidden camera, they discover evidence linking them to the murderer. Meanwhile, Angela and Hodgins discuss their future home and where they want to raise a family, and Booth opens up to Hannah about Brennan's feelings for him.
S6.E11 ∙ The Bullet in the Brain
The city anxiously anticipates the arrival of Heather Taffet, more notoriously known as "The Gravedigger," for her final appeal after being sentenced to death for a kidnap-murder and a series of similar coldblooded crimes. But when a bullet targeted at The Gravedigger is fired from a distance and hits her, the Jeffersonian team is tasked to piece together the sniper's precise location as well as identify the suspect and his motives. With the help of probing investigator Caroline Julian, Booth and Brennan put together a list of likely suspects, but the evidence and the remarkable skill needed to pull off the crime leads the team to believe that the crime was an inside, professional job, leaving Brennan's father Max and even Booth as plausible suspects. Meanwhile, Sweets attempts to put on a brave face after being caught in the firestorm just moments following a chilly encounter with The Gravedigger.
S6.E12 ∙ The Sin in the Sisterhood
A body disguised as a scarecrow is found with a bullet wound in a remote cornfield, and the team is forced to work against the clock to avoid a storm and potential complications that would affect the evidence. Booth and Brennan interrogate the victim's three wives, who are also sisters, and learn that jealousy between the sisters and their desire for their husband's attention had caused a major rift in the family. Booth and Brennan also question one relative who disapproved of the victim's polygamy. A BMX rider's remains are discovered on the roof of a warehouse after a failed bike stunt. While Booth and Brennan interrogate the victim's fellow riders, Hodgins and newly mellowed "squint" Fisher identify the numerous fractures in the victim's skeletal structure, and Angela recreates the series of events that led to the fatal accident. Meanwhile, Sweets turns to Booth for advice about his relationship with Daisy, and Booth makes a decision about his relationship with Hannah.

The liquefied remains of a wedding planner are found in her home tanning bed on Valentine's Day, and Cam pressures her team to solve the case in time so she can celebrate the holiday with her boyfriend. While the "squints" works tirelessly in the lab, Booth and Brennan interrogate a slew of possible suspects until they unlock classified files in the victim's computer, which lead to their main suspect. Meanwhile, Booth and Brennan downplay the significance of Valentine's Day, and Hodgins tries to plan a romantic day for Angela, but "squint" Clark helps him realize that the most meaningful gifts come from the heart.
S6.E15 ∙ The Killer in the Crosshairs
After notoriously murdering "The Gravedigger," sniper-on-the-loose Jacob Broadsky strikes again. This time, his victim is a prior suspect who escaped the justice system. More determined than ever to catch Broadsky, Booth uses his own military training to beat the sniper at his own game. He vows to go to any lengths necessary to ensure that justice is served. In a heated and dramatic face-off, Booth has minutes to catch Broadsky before he hits an intended target, but Broadsky's skill and speed may prove to be a worthy adversary. Meanwhile, Angela's father visits the Jeffersonian and insists on naming his unborn grandchild.
S6.E16 ∙ The Blackout in the Blizzard
A severe blizzard causes a city-wide blackout, adding to the obstacles the team must overcome in order to solve a murder case that could be linked to a potential viral outbreak. But when Booth and Brennan find themselves trapped in an elevator during the power outage, Sweets is on hand for outside assistance, but does more than what's asked of him when he initiates a touchy conversation about Booth and Brennan's relationship. Meanwhile, Angela and Hodgins get worrisome news about the health of their unborn baby, and Hodgins and "squint" Wendell Bray get creative in the lab and put their scientific skills to use to identify the victim and the rare disease.
S6.E17 ∙ The Feet on the Beach
Eight pairs of dismembered feet wash ashore after a recent flood on the U.S.-Canada border, but things don't add up when seven pairs of feet are identified as research corpses from a nearby university body farm. When Canadian forensic podiatrist Dr. Douglas Filmore takes the remains back to Canada, he and Brennan form an alliance to match the pairs of feet and identify the victim, and a rare and expensive pair of sneakers leads the team to the victim's murderer. Meanwhile, Cam gets in hot water when she makes college plans for her daughter behind her back.
S6.E18 ∙ The Truth in the Myth
A TV show host who systematically exposed fraud and superstition is killed in a forest where he intended to disprove the existence of the Latin-American mythological 'goat-thief', at first sight in the way the fable creature strikes. Suspects include parties he exposed but also professional rivals. Booth patiently sits through Bones' pitiful attempt to practice humor and welcomes her explanation for his sole 'cryptozoological' encounter with an apparent yeti. Vincent's confessions and apologies as ninth AA program step somewhat shock his Jeffersonian colleagues.
S6.E19 ∙ The Finder
Sam Nozik's beetles-eaten corpse in a Florida glade is identified from his acrylic eye. He worked in a Miami museum, from which a treasure map to a Spanish galleon was stolen. Booth grudgingly allows his superstitious former foreign army tour acquaintance Walter Sherman (and his team of two) to use his 'tracing gift' to find and retrieve the treasure. They do, after consulting bishop Edward Galano on period navigation, and find the corpse, but meanwhile the diver herself has been murdered too. Booth meanwhile comes to terms with his grudge against Walter as 'insensitive' MP.
S6.E20 ∙ The Pinocchio in the Planter
Award winning ad man Ross Dickson's corpse is found by prancing youngsters, buried in a public playground, beaten to death in a mysterious way. He was a member of a radical truth-society, which caused many conflicts in private and professional life. Encouraged by Bones, Wendell Bray follows his example to secure the extra hours only he needs desperately while Camille would divide them indiscriminately, a one-off success while the others explicitly prefer 'civilized untruthfulness'.
S6.E21 ∙ The Signs in the Silence
A mysterious young deaf girl is thought to have committed a recent murder after she's found on the streets, covered in blood and holding a knife. It's up to the Jeffersonian team to figure out who this girl is and determine if she's really the one to blame for the murder.
S6.E22 ∙ The Hole in the Heart
The search for Broadsky intensifies as he manages to kill one of the Squints. Angela and Hodgins name their baby. Booth struggles to protect those closest to him, which leads to an unexpected situation.
S6.E23 ∙ The Change in the Game
A generally disliked member of Max Keenan's bowling team's corpse is found as a decomposing mess in the cones machinery when that renovated section is reopened, but he was knocked dead a week earlier. Booth, good at the game, and Bones go undercover as new team members to study players and staff, which yields lots of grim grudges. Wendell has a hard time standing in, with online assistance, for Angela, who finally gives birth.
S7.E1 ∙ The Memories in the Shallow Grave
A paint-ball team accidentally finds in a national park the consumed corpse of a woman, soon identified from dental records as the wife of protestant minister Joseph Serrano. She was declared missing six months ago, then returned with serious amnesia treated by eccentric specialist psychiatrist Dr. David Yarzick, and again recently. Further forensics on corpse and grave reveal traces of water-resistant burial and repeated forms of abuse and different times. Sweets also tries to counsel Booth and Bones as they bicker over the correct impact of their pregnancy on living arrangements and couple dynamics.
S7.E2 ∙ The Hot Dog in the Competition
Dixie ex-con Finn Abernathy, a genius, joins the team and impresses even Bones. He has to face hard questions about his past and morality but soon bonds with initially hostile Hodges. The case is that of a female eating competitions champion, whose corpse is being eaten from the inside by a live snake. Booth concentrates on her rivals for the impending Gluttony Games, a premiere with a $10,000 prize, her husband and hard-handed manager Brian Tobin. Everyone tries to make Bones understand she must take account of Booth's emotions as a proud father-to-be.
S7.E3 ∙ The Prince in the Plastic
Toy company designer Debra Cortez's corpse is found at a dump site, decomposed inside plastic wrapping, with an equally crushed vintage copy of the company's top model, Prince Charmington. The team grills her brother Rick, who was fired from a menial job, her rival designer Lawrence Deighton, boyfriend-doll model Brock Vorback and the CEO Bianca Chiverton. Sweets is determined to earn an FBI gun license, which unleashes stressing attention; mainly from worried Booth and excited Daisy. Meanwhile young and soon-to-be parents wrestle with buying and assembling baby toys.
S7.E4 ∙ The Male in the Mail
Post staff finds several mail boxes filled with goo - actually a chopped-up human corpse. Their address labels were deliberately messed up so as to strand them in a specialized post office, but a code traces them to a local Ship 'n' Print, where one employee is missing and proved to be the victim. Most of his colleagues resigned after jointly winning a fortune in the lottery. Sweets helps cut trough their endless lies. Booth gets a surprise visit from grandpa, on account of the death of Seeley's ever-absent father, which he's most unwilling to discuss. Bones leaves most of the field work to Booth's ambitious FBI cadet Genevieve Shaw, to accommodate her pregnancy, which renders Clark most uncomfortable.
S7.E5 ∙ The Twist in the Twister
A storm chaser with a shot at becoming professional may be murdered, but his corpse is mangled with half a neighborhood by the last tornado he studied. Booth, assisted by Lance as he refuses to bring his unborn child to danger zones, checks on the brother, who reluctantly financed the victim's top-notch home-made storm chaser-mobile, his surviving driver and competitors. Bones ignores all safety advice to consult storm chasers on the next tornado site. Hodgins comes up with a lullaby contraption and lies to prevent Angela's father from babysitting but revises his opinions on both.
S7.E6 ∙ The Crack in the Code
A human spinal column was deposited at night at the Lincoln monument with a message taunting to find the rest. Its vertebrates were reassembled, forming a code Hodgins gets obsessed with solving. The blood on it stems from 5 FBI agents, who donated it at the Red Cross. Sweets and his profile help Booth identify suspects, notably brilliant hacker Christopher Pelant and the omnipresent newspaper reporter Ezra Krane. Another murder follows and a highly original diversion crime. Bones meanwhile accepts to stay home and seriously considers Booth's ideas for a new home.
S7.E7 ∙ The Prisoner in the Pipe
Body parts float up in a toilet. The team determine the deceased was a prisoner. Booth wants Brennan to take it easy since she is near her due date. Dr Brennan & Booth go to the prison to find the killer. Afterwards, Brennan gives birth.
S7.E8 ∙ The Bump in the Road
Finn Abernathy's Dixie country experience proves as useful as his IQ in figuring out a female corpse smeared over half a mile of interstate road by Alan Bates's truck. The victim, farmer's wife Barb, was a fanatic even by the standards of her coupon addicts club, all of whom bicker and bother Chad Fergus's supermarket, where a cashier was filmed beating Barb. Her husband Dale Berquist spend lonely nights dining with other women. Finn proves a perfect gentleman when Michelle shows interest in dating him, yet now Camille re-questions his past.
S7.E9 ∙ The Don't in the Do
Hodgins has a hard time identifying the blue substance which killed animals scavenging on a scalped corpse, painstakingly identified as a capricious star hairdresser. Possible motives include a bizarre cult, salon rivalry and a form of organ theft. Sweets counsels Booth how to handle Bones' apparent postnatal self-image-issue.
S7.E10 ∙ The Warrior in the Wuss
Metal hardware deliverer Tony Cole was fatally stabbed in a puzzling way. Booth is more preoccupied with his son Parker, finally back from England, and how to fit him in the family with Bones and baby sister Christine, and Sweets is through with counseling under false pretenses. Hodgins uses the case to prove his expensive 'pet' equipment is all useful. Tony had a bitter company rival, Karl Singler, and picked a fight with his beloved boy Danny's karate sensei, Hunter Sherman, over a fight with sprout Blake Sherman.
S7.E11 ∙ The Family in the Feud
A West Virginia truffle hunter's hog stumbles upon a corpse in the woods. The killing may fit in over a century of vicious, vivid feud between the neighboring Babcock and Mobley families, which a lawyer in the family had until recently converted into endless litigation. Natural resources and forbidden love may also prove crucial. Sweets gets to interrogate on his own while Booth is preoccupied with stopping Bones from chasing all baby-caregivers, even her own father.
S7.E12 ∙ The Suit on the Set
The corpse of the boss of the Hollywood studio where extravagant British director Joco Kent is filming "Bone of Contention", an action movie based on a book by Bones, is dropped in a clumsy attempt to cover up a bizarre stabbing. He had enemies and his demise opens opportunities. While investigating, Booth is offered a lucrative security job there. The Jeffersonian team is jealous of scientific consultant Dr. Douglas Filmore, but they all get to prove their worth.
S7.E13 ∙ The Past in the Present
Suspected serial killer Christopher Pelant, the computer genius, clearly hopes to avoid trial by completely discrediting the Jeffersonian team. Playing on their emotions, each in turn is trapped to commit undeniable, often illegal errors, leading to their dismissal as witness or even suspension from duty, as happens with Booth. Given implicit threats to baby Christine and mounting evidence against Bones herself in the murder of her detained mentor Dr. Ethan Sawyer, Max makes a convincing case she would better disappear until the case is cleared.
S8.E1 ∙ The Future in the Past
Months later, Brennan is still on the run from the FBI, after being framed for murder by Christopher Pelant. The remaining team searches for the real killer.

A burned body is found. The victim is a divorce lawyer who had a lot of disgruntled clients. With Brennan back home, she and Booth have to adjust to living together. They have various disagreements about the new routines at home.

A man dies in a car explosion. After identifying the man, Booth and Brennan find he is still alive. Turns out, the two guys are twins who did not know of the other. Both men are browbeaten by their wives, one of which wanted her husband dead.

An employee is killed in an animal park, and the team determines it is linked to illegal animal trafficking. Dr Sweets and Daisy discuss the current status of their relationship and make a decision.
S8.E5 ∙ The Method in the Madness
The team identify a woman's eviscerated body as a co-owner of a natural applesauce store. There is a symmetry to her incisions. Sweets has been living in his office since the breakup with Daisy so Booth invites him to stay with him and Bones.
S8.E6 ∙ The Patriot in Purgatory
Brennan, intrigued by Phil Jackson's management style, pulls all her interns together as a team for a project worthy of the basketball coach's philosophy. She charges them with identifying remains that have been determined unidentifiable. For the team, however, it turns out that naming the bodies may be the easiest part of their task when one of them is from 9/11 and they must decide if he is a victim or perpetrator.
S8.E7 ∙ The Bod in the Pod
The Jeffersonian team investigates the death of a crime scene cleanup expert whose remains are found mysteriously sealed in an impenetrable pod that washed up on the beach. Meanwhile, Angela and Hodgins learn that Cam is involved in a secret romance.

An artist gluing his artwork on a billboard slips and falls with his glue on top of a corpse. The team has to separate the artist from the bones. Angela realizes the artist is a famous street painter. Bones takes up comedy to find suspects.

The team talk to the deceased teenaged victim as if he is alive. A psychic visits and says the victim called her to help with the case. The boy's spirit affects everyone as they look for his killer.

Brennan and Booth enter a dance competition to find a killer of a contestant. After the killer is caught, Brennan still wants to enter the competition for the judges.
S8.E11 ∙ The Archaeologist in the Cocoon
An archaeologist is found murdered. His lab holds ancient remains of Neanderthals and Homosapiens; these are given to Clark to research. Brennan is jealous that she has to work the current case and not the ancient one.
S8.E12 ∙ The Corpse on the Canopy
After Hodgins and Angela were drugged and woke up to a bloody corpse hanging in the canopy of their bed and flower petals around their son Michael's crib, they are forced to believe that Pelant is back for revenge against Hodgins. Although Hodgins wants to go after Pelant directly, Booth knows it's best to work within the system and not go against protocol. Meanwhile, as the Jeffersonian team investigates the corpse, they discover the victim was a Special Forces agent working for the world's biggest supplier of mercenaries, and Angela and Hodgins decide to start an investigation without the rest of the Jeffersonian team for the sake of their family.
S8.E13 ∙ The Twist in the Plot
The Jeffersonian team investigates the remains of two bodies that were found at the same burial plot: one of a female cancer patient; the other, the doula who was guiding her through her grieving process with the illness. Meanwhile, with a spotlight on the case, Brennan and Booth start discussing their individual choices for after-death arrangements. Also, Daisy Wick returns for her first case after her break-up with Sweets.
S8.E14 ∙ The Doll in the Derby
The dismembered body of a roller derby skater means Angela goes undercover at the rink to find more clues to the woman's murder. Elsewhere, Cam worries over the sheer number of doctor appointments Booth is going to, and presses him for details.

When Brennan is shot while working late at the Jeffersonian lab, she is rushed to the hospital in critical condition. While at the hospital, she struggles with visions of her mother that defy her usual logic. Meanwhile all evidence suggests that Brennan's attacker may be linked to the Jeffersonian.

The Jeffersonian team investigates the remains of a 15-year-old boy. Although his mother and few close friends saw him as intelligent with poor social skills, the team discovers that this seemingly innocent boy was actually involved in illegal activity and had attended a high school party two weeks prior where drugs were present. The investigation takes an ugly turn when an underage girl confesses to being raped and the deceased boy's reputation is compromised. Meanwhile, with the case's spotlight on deception, intern Finn Abernathy contemplates telling Cam that her daughter Michelle is in town visiting for the weekend.

When extremely educated new intern Dr. Oliver Wells starts working at the Jeffersonian, his quick-learning, enthusiastic personality challenges Brennan as he gets under her skin with his eccentric but undeniable observations, causing her to try to be more open-minded about many scientific questions. Meanwhile, Booth worries she may have gone too far when she accepts the possibility of time travel as a factor in a murder investigation.

The Jeffersonian team investigates the death of Symchay Conteh, a young man whose remains were found in a barrel at a hazardous waste disposal facility. They discover that the victim was an immigrant from Sierra Leone working numerous part-time jobs in order to make ends meet Meanwhile, as the team gets deeper into the investigation, Cam and Arastoo find it even more difficult to keep their relationship a secret and Brennan and Booth try to decide on a vacation destination.

When the Jeffersonian team investigates the death of a former Marine sergeant whose remains were found burned to a crisp, they discover that she was discharged after a fist fight with another Marine. When Booth and Sweets go to question the other Marine involved in the altercation, they learn that Deanna was obsessed with the idea of the apocalypse, which leads the team to a following of doomsday preppers who become key suspects in her death. Meanwhile, Sweets thinks he has landed his dream apartment but Brennan and Booth are not convinced that he will actually move out.

An undercover police officer, who was investigating a string of ATM robberies, turns up dead in a van with a bag of diamonds found inside his mutilated body. So the Jeffersonian team must figure out whether or not the ATM robbers are also murderers, or if the cop was crooked.
