Massimo Ruggero makes his bank millions by speculating on the Greek crisis in the hope of getting the vice-CEO position, however, CEO Dominic Morgan denies him the promotion because of a scandal involving his past.

After NYL's near-miss with the Irish bank, Dominic suspends Massimo as the head of trading. Flashbacks to five years earlier show Massimo's rise in the NYL's ranks and his first dealings with Dominic, Ed Stuart as well as his wife Carrie and how her issues with drugs and alcohol almost derailed Massimo's career plays.

Professionally wounded, Massimo cuts a deal with Vicky to obtain the secret dossier in exchange for the capture of Duval, the elusive head of counterinformation platform and Sofia's employer, Subterranean.

Massimo discovers that the dossier he is hiding from the police and Sofia contains a liquidity-recycling scheme between NYL and a German bank involving the Euro. Also, Dominic forces Oliver to spy on Massimo.

Massimo and Sofia travel to his hometown of Cetara, Italy to visit his dying father where issues from his past come back to haunt him. Back in London, Eleanor is tasked by Dominic to buy low yield Italian bonds to sell at high cost to NYL clients.

Massimo forms an unlikely alliance with Sofia's underground hacking group, Subterrania, and it's leader Daniel Duvall, to try to hack NYL servers to find any incriminating evidence about the Euro currency scheme, while keeping the rest of his team in the dark about his intentions.
S1.E10 ∙ Episode #1.10
Armed with the dossier, Massimo defeats Dominic and uncovers the identity of the killer responsible for his colleague's death; with Dominic disgraced and his own name cleared, Massimo takes his place as CEO of the bank.
