S4.E1 ∙ God Bless the Child
The two children of shipping magnate Frank Bronski kill their father and stepmother, to avoid losing their inheritance. Jake and McCabe must prove it was them, and not the man they set up to take the fall.
S4.E2 ∙ The Tender Trap
Derek's Uncle comes to town bringing with him his new, much younger, fiance. Derek is concerned that she's only out to get his money, but things are not all the seem when it comes to the woman.
S4.E3 ∙ Exactly Like You
When a man is murdered. Jake gets a lead on a suspect and when they pick him, he doesn't try to deny his guilt. McCabe notices a few inconsistencies in his statement. So they try to find out for sure if he is the one who did it.
S4.E4 ∙ 'Round Midnight
Jake and his date are carjacked while driving his buddy's Porsche. Derek suggests Jake bait the guy with another Porsche. The plan works, but things get a little more complicated when a world-class jewel thief enters the picture.
S4.E5 ∙ Only You
Jake goes undercover to stop a group involved in industrial espionage after a security guard is nearly killed in a heist. Meanwhile, things get complicated for Jake when a budding romance with a late friend's widow may cost him his life.
S4.E6 ∙ My Boy Bill
When a fence is arrested, McCabe assigns the case to Trish, one of his best prosecuting attorneys. The crook upon being informed by his lawyer that he doesn't have much of a defense, with the help of two other accomplices, first offer Trish a bribe to throw the case. When she balks, they kidnap her 7-year-old son to use as leverage against her. When the case goes to trial, something mysteriously goes wrong with key pieces of evidence. After threatening to pull Trish off the case, McCabe has Jake investigate and all evidence leads to Trish. Wondering why, Jake sets out to uncover the reason.
S4.E7 ∙ More Than You Know
McCabe and Jake are looking for a someone who is killing women. A reporter interviews McCabe and when Jake comes in to tell him about the perp, McCabe asks the reporter to leave and they talk. When she comes back and upon the conclusion retrieves a recorder which she planted to record their conversation. And she manages to find out something they've been keeping to themselves. She then kills a woman and using the info she got, she makes it appear the killer killed her. But McCabe and Jake notices a few anomalies.
S4.E8 ∙ Night and Day
A private investigator washes up on the shore. His partner is a friend of Jake's, and she's out for blood.
S4.E9 ∙ Goodbye
When a drug dealer is murdered in Honolulu, Jake follows a trail to the mainland which leads to possible corruption. After Jake is framed for murder, it's up to McCabe, Jake and Derek, with the help of and old friend, to clear his name and expose the crooked officials.
S4.E10 ∙ I Know That You Know
When a socialite is murdered, and the prime suspect is a cat burglar who broke into her house at the time she was killed. Later when the man is caught he claims that there was someone else who went into the house before he did. McCabe doesn't believe him and places him on trial and gets him convicted. But after the trial McCabe thinks something is wrong because the man is not known to be violent and later discovers something that proves he is innocent. So he thinks that someone else killed her, like the person the cat burglar saw enter the house or her husband.
S4.E11 ∙ Let's Call the Whole Thing Off
When the chief witness in a murder trial is murdered on the steps of the courthouse, the Judge gives McCabe a two-day continuance, in which time Jake must find a new witness.
S4.E12 ∙ I May Be Wrong
When a South African politician against the apartheid is killed in a bombing, a South African woman in LA, lobbying for the end of the sanctions against her country, is accused of the murder. It's up to Jake and McCabe to find the truth.
S4.E13 ∙ Daddy's Home
When Jake's old man turns up out of the blue with trouble right behind him, Jake has to set personal feelings aside and help his father.
S4.E14 ∙ I'm Gonna Live Till I Die
An accountant witnesses a murder. He soon befriends Jake. Jake takes a liking to the unassuming account. Shortly thereafter the account learns he has been poisoned and has 3 days to live. The accountant now living like there is no tomorrow teams up with jake to find the killer!
S4.E15 ∙ Pretty Baby
After a waitress and young mother witnesses a murder, and goes missing, Derek and McCabe look after her daughter while Jake hunts for the killer, and the missing girl.
S4.E16 ∙ I Cover the Waterfront
An old friend of Derek's shows up wanting to reconnect, but when he's found dead later that night, Derek insists it wasn't a suicide like all the evidence seems to imply.
S4.E17 ∙ You Don't Know Me
Andrew Blaine, a friend of McCabe's is ousted from his company by his protege, Charles Hatton. He also learns that his wife aided him. When she catches Hatton with another woman she snaps and threatens him. He is later killed when someone tampers with his sauna. Naturally focus turns on her but Jake doesn't think it's her style. So Jake decides to focus on her husband but unfortunately he has a solid alibi--he was with McCabe.
S4.E18 ∙ It Never Entered My Mind
McCabe's doctor after having an argument with the hospital's bureaucratic administrator finds himself the prime suspect when the man is killed. Along with McCabe and three interns he tries to find out who the killer is.
S4.E19 ∙ Second Time Around
Five years prior a famous attorney is being blackmailed. His devoted secretary offers to kill the blackmailer. But instead she fakes the blackmailers death. Then five years later the blackmailer turns up alive and is now blackmailing the secretary who is now married to the attorney running for governor. When the blackmailer is killed, jake goes undercover to see what secrets this couple is hiding!
S4.E20 ∙ I'd Do Anything
A Psychologist convinces a patient of hers, who is devoted to her, to kill her husband. It's up to Jake to prove it was them before things get out of hand.
S4.E21 ∙ We'll Meet Again
When someone makes an attempt on McCabe, he and Jake go through everyone they arrested to find out who is out. They consider David Thompson, Harrison Gregg and Brandon Moore.
S4.E22 ∙ It's a Sin to Tell a Lie
When a parishioner at McCabe's church is murdered, Jake and McCabe lead the investigation only to discover a cold case where another young woman from the church had been killed a couple years before.
S4.E23 ∙ Nevertheless
A man kills his wife, making it look like a robbery in a bad part of town. McCabe and Jake don't quite buy the story, and the more they investigate, the more suspicious they become.
