Meanwhile, Nina considers having plastic surgery to increase her breast size. As Jack is working on an important speech, Finch approaches him with some questions about his job. After Jack does little to ease his fears, Maya accuses her father of being insensitive as she tries to get him to understand Finch's concerns. Then, after an accidental fall lands him in the zoo's gorilla pit, Finch is suddenly a celebrity. Although Jack warns that it won't last, Finch tries to capitalize on his fame with an appearance on Jay Leno's television show.

Jack wants Maya to get along with Nina so he has her arrange her birthday party. Jealous of Elliott's conquests, Finch bets him $1000 he couldn't succeed without his fashion photographer rep, requiring to identify himself as a shampoo boy.
S1.E5 ∙ In Your Dreams
So she can have a good photo for her company ID, Jack suggests that Maya arrange a session with Elliott. And while Elliott isn't keen on the idea, Jack orders him to agree. When Maya complains that she's never really taken a good picture, Elliott suggests it's because she's always sabotaging herself. So, when he asks her to imagine an erotic encounter with a handsome man, Maya relaxes enough to provide for some good shots. Meanwhile, Finch creates a new employee manual for the magazine. While pleased with the results, Maya decides the photo is too sexy and sends the wrong message. However, later that night, she dreams of being seduced by Elliott in his studio. And when seeing Elliott again jogs her memory of the dream, it doesn't take Finch long to realize what's happened and for Maya to warn him against breathing a word of it to anyone.
S1.E6 ∙ Lemon Wacky Hello
Her father's trip to China gives Maya her first chance to put the entire magazine together herself. And while proud of the changes she's made, when Jack returns, he points out a number of obvious problems that must be addressed before it can be sent to the printer. Then, as Jack is distributing the many gifts he bought for his staff, Maya is surprised to find she's getting a bag of strange candy he bought from a Chinese cab driver. Meanwhile, Nina is stunned to learn that the man she picked up in a nearby bar was really a pickpocket. After everyone samples the unusual candy, strange things begin to happen. Diagnosing their symptoms, Nina concludes that the Lemon Wacky Hello is some kind of hallucinogen.

After seeing how easily her father responded to a bumbling but beautiful delivery girl, Maya complains that good looking people get all the breaks. To prove her point, she suggests sending two men, one handsome but stupid and the other well qualified but homely, to apply for the same job. Meanwhile, as Jack struggles to assemble a toy for his baby daughter, Elliott enlists Nina in a practical joke on Finch. After meeting the handsome Derek and the well qualified Neil, Maya sends them out to interview for a job. But Maya's thesis quickly runs into trouble. When Neil returns with news that he's a shoo-in for the job and asks her out for dinner to celebrate, Maya is careful to turn him down, citing journalistic ethics as her reason. However, when Derek returns to announce that he got the job, she accepts his offer for a date.
S2.E2 ∙ The Assistant
Maya struggles with her incompetent assistant, Cindy. Jack and Maya clash over whether to fire Cindy; Maya likens Jack's intolerance of Cindy to his intolerance of an unruly dog Maya had when she a child. Nina is invited to appear on NPR to debate against a feminist leader about whether the fashion industry creates false and harmful images for women. Elliot and Dennis conspire to sabotage Nina's preparatory study of erudite vocabulary.
S2.E3 ∙ Old Boyfriends
Maya's dating a man who is almost as old as Jack and when he learns of this, he finds it hard to keep his disapproval in check because he married a girl who is as old as Maya. Nina flirts with a window washer who falls.
S2.E4 ∙ La Cage
Finch hooks up with a model who was once with Elliot. Elliot warns him to keep away from her. Finch thinks he's jealous. But he later learns that she's deranged. But despite knowing that he continues to see her and she continues to torment him.
S2.E5 ∙ King Lear Jet
Jack has two tickets to the play King Lear in London and is even arranging for a private jet to take who wants to go. And adhering to Maya's wish that he not show her special treatment because she's his daughter, doesn't give them to her. But she really wanted to watch it because she likes Shakespeare. He gives the tickets to Nina and Elliot who want the other's ticket so that they could bring someone else along. Also Carmen Electra shows up and Elliot hits on her despite her constant rebuffing.
S2.E6 ∙ My Dinner with Woody
After writing a fictional article about a dinner with director Woody Allen, Maya must endure the criticism of her father and her coworkers. But she's delighted when someone claiming to be Allen calls to compliment her about the piece. However, when he drops by the office, Maya finds that the man who called is nothing more than an obsessed impostor trying to pass himself off as the famous director. Meanwhile, a mix-up has Nina giving Jack breath-freshener instead of eye drops. After getting to know the phony Woody Allen, Maya begins to enjoy his flattery and company. Taking his advice, she's even able to persuade Jack into letting her pursue an unpopular story idea. However, despite her delight in having the advice work, Maya is still taken aback to find Woody perched on her balcony when she arrives home from work. Meanwhile, Nina pledges to stand by Jack until his eyesight is restored.
S2.E7 ∙ Twice Burned
Jack wants to get his daughter into the school that Maya went to but is told that they have rejected her. He later learns that it's due to an incident caused by his neglect of Maya. So he tries to make peace with her hoping to convince the school to change its mind.
S2.E8 ∙ Sweet Charity
Maya asks everyone if they would help out at a charity she volunteers at. All of them have different views of what volunteering is. And Jack completely flakes out. He tries to make it up by making a big donation. Later the head of the organization shows up at the magazine and praises Jack for his generosity and tells they named him the organization's humanitarian of the year. Maya's upset that Jack is getting all the attention.
S2.E9 ∙ Jesus, It's Christmas
With greed running rampant at the office, Maya suggests that everyone pool their Christmas present money and give it to someone in need. Dismissing Nina's suggestion that they donate it to her favorite male stripper, Maya decides to give the money to Jesus Santos, the building's night janitor. Although led to believe that he's going to use the gift to open his own business, Maya is stunned when Jesus falls in love with her and uses the money to buy her a series of lavish gifts to prove it. Meanwhile, Finch begs to be invited along for a Caribbean swimsuit shoot with Elliott and a dozen beautiful models. When his pleas to be included in the trip fail to do any good, Finch decides to turn up the heat on Elliott by stealing his favorite camera lens. And though Elliott tries to resist, the lure of his lucky lens proves too strong and he invites Finch along.

Elliott is made to realize that he was a nerd in high-school. Now he feels even more unsure about himself 20 years later.

Maya tries proving herself to a successful college roommate; Jack's birthday sets Finch and Nina to fighting over who can find the best present.
S2.E12 ∙ In the Company of Maya
When Maya finds herself attracted to one of the magazine's new researchers. Nina tells her to go after him. Even telling her to use whatever attributes she has. Later the guy files a complaint against her for sexual harassment. Jack tries to handle it and gives the staff a course on how to act appropriately. Maya later tries to apologize to the guy but because Jack told her to wear a wire without giving her the insulator, she's constantly getting shocked which makes it seems she's coming on to him.
S2.E13 ∙ Pass the Salt
With his dad in town for a fireman's convention, Finch is nervous about him dropping by the office. But when he does, Finch is surprised when Red invites him out for dinner and a Broadway show. And as Maya and Finch both agree that it's awkward having their parents at work, Red joins Jack in his office for a drink and recognizes Nina as a calendar model from many years ago. Meanwhile, unsure about the safety of her neighborhood, Jack nervously accepts an invitation for dinner at Maya's apartment. Following his night out with Red, Finch discovers that his dad thinks he's gay. Though he tries to dispel this ill-conceived notion, Finch has a hard time getting either Nina or Elliott to tell Red the truth. Meanwhile, when Maya's apartment is robbed, she borrows her neighbor's furniture in order to fool her dad. Over drinks, Finch discovers that his two brothers, Scottie and Buck, think he's gay, too.
S2.E14 ∙ The Walk
After arriving at work to propose a story about plastic surgery, Jack's mood turns unexpectedly ugly. Ordered to leave her father alone, Maya and her colleagues look for what could have suddenly caused his mood to sour. And after ruling out a possible health problem, Maya begins to suspect her dad is having an affair. Meanwhile, Finch is surprised when a fellow employee suddenly responds to his suggestion that they go out on a date. While Nina uncovers a problem with some alterations Jack wanted made to an old school jacket, a look at a photograph on his desk convinces Maya that her suspicions of an affair are justified. Between Elliot's close scrutiny of the photo and a search of his phone messages, Maya concludes that he's involved with a waitress named Rhonda. Meanwhile, Finch realizes he's being played for a fool after Courtney asks him to pick up an old boyfriend at the airport.
S2.E15 ∙ Nina in the Cantina
A legendary rocker comes to the magazine for an interview. Nina claims to be the inspiration for one of his songs, "Nina in the Cantina", because they had a moment years ago. But when Maya talks to him, he claims that someone else is the inspiration. He only used the name 'Nina' caused it rhymed with 'Cantina' doesn't remember Nina. Maya asks him to pretend to remember Nina when he meets her.
S2.E16 ∙ College or Collagen
When the student she's been mentoring for several years comes to visit, Maya takes care to warn her dad and the staff to be on their best behavior. Despite getting good grades and having lots of friends at school, Karey senses that something still isn't quite right with her life. Recalling how she once turned down an opportunity to study in Paris during her own college years, Maya encourages Karey to pursue something she's passionate about. Meanwhile, Finch agrees to fill in for Jack's wife at the Gallo's regular bridge game. After encouraging Karey, Maya is stunned to find she's decided to become a model. And while Maya tries to point out the many pitfalls of getting a modeling career off the ground, Elliott reveals that she already has a number of offers to work. However, Nina begins to have second thoughts about pushing Karey to model after discovering she's also a gifted poet.
S2.E17 ∙ Nina's Bikini
Nina donates her bikini to a model theme restaurant. But she discovers that it's not being displayed where people can see it. Dennis and Maya decide to steal it so Maya can give it to someone who appreciates it.
S2.E18 ∙ The Kiss
In order to keep him from renting something he may not even want, Elliott asks Maya to help him look at a new apartment. When Elliott sees the fabulous place and learns of its outrageously low rent, he's ready to move, regardless of what Maya has to say. But the elderly landlady prefers a young married couple, so Elliott quickly introduces Maya as his wife. And once the opportunity to put on a good show presents itself, he gives Maya a passionate kiss. Meanwhile, Jack's trust is destroyed upon discovering that Finch has been renting out his office parking space. Following their kiss, both Maya and Elliott worry that they each liked it more than they should have. So when Jack wants to send them to Montreal on a story, both have excuses for not wanting to go. However, Elliott still needs Maya to help him get the apartment and invites her to a weekly tenants party being thrown by Mrs. Pierce. But when Maya refuses to go, he asks Nina instead, hoping that the landlady won't notice.
S2.E20 ∙ Jack's Old Partner
As Nina faces the grim prospect of an income tax audit, Jack is suffering from a case of writer's block that's keeping him from completing his memoirs. Pressed by Maya, Jack reveals that he's stuck at the point where he and the magazine's founding partner parted ways. And that's when Maya discovers that her dad is guilty of pushing Herb aside after they launched the first issue of Blush. Meanwhile, Nina asks Elliott for help by taking IRS auditor Janet Hansen on a date. Realizing that Maya is right, Jack tracks down Herb at the Connecticut toy shop he opened after leaving the magazine, and finds that he still holds a grudge after thirty years. To make good for having forced him out, Jack then hires him as the magazine's new managing editor. But on his first day at work, Herb can't seem to make up his mind about anything. Meanwhile, Elliott's lack of interest in Janet jeopardizes Nina's chances at surviving her audit unscathed.
S2.E21 ∙ Amblushed
Jack sends Maya to an N.Y.U. seminar as a guest speaker for the magazine, but she gets ambushed, instead. She finds it hard to refute their claims of Blush's objectification of women. Nina's gold, but she can't wash off Elliot's paint.
S2.E22 ∙ The Emperor
When she decides to attend another celebrity event, Nina throws out her invitation to designer Oskar Milos' fashion show. Retrieving it from the trash, Finch persuades Maya to join him while masquerading as Nina. As Finch ingratiates himself with the fashion world celebrities, Maya is less than guarded about her opinions of Milos's new work. But she's stunned when her candid criticism appears in the next day's newspaper attributed to Nina. Meanwhile, Jack decides to help a reluctant Elliott get a date. When Nina insists she wasn't at the party, Maya steps forward to take responsibility for the misunderstanding. And wondering just how much damage she's has done, Maya is surprised when her father reveals that Milos has withdrawn almost $4 million in advertising from the magazine. So to make things right, she insists on apologizing in person. And upon arriving at the studio, she claims her remarks were misquoted.
S2.E23 ∙ Rescue Me
After arranging a blood drive at work, Maya fills the nurse, Tisha, in on her history with the magazine. When complaining about her father hiring a beautiful but inept young writer, Maya gets overly excited and faints. Hoping to take advantage of Maya's condition, Finch tries playing a practical joke. Maya awakes in time to stop him, leaving Finch to use his turn with Tisha to recall how he was hired by Jack after losing his job as a movie theater usher. When Elliott arrives, Tisha claims to be a big fan of his work. In response, he fills her in on how Jack hired him off the street just as he was about to give up on his dream of being a fashion photographer. Meanwhile, Maya again loses consciousness after Elliott graphically describes his own blood donation. As Maya regains consciousness in time to help the hair-brained Shannon, Nina shows up for her turn with Tisha.
S2.E24 ∙ Eve of Destruction
When Jack's ex-wife Eve drops in unannounced, her long-standing hostilities with him are renewed. Tired of always having her parents fighting, Maya threatens to stop talking to either of them if they can't behave. And hoping it will make things better, she suggests that her mom and dad join her for dinner. Meanwhile, on Jack's invitation, Bill Slatton arrives at the office determined to make the staff work harder. After agreeing to the dinner date, Jack begins to suspect that Eve has come to take back a favorite painting he's supposed to give up as part of their twenty-five year-old divorce settlement. And once Maya lets it slip over dinner that Jack is worried, Eve seizes upon the idea of getting the painting back. Meanwhile, Nina and Finch both find it hard to outwit Bill's efforts. And even though Elliott tries to meet the new standards, Bill sees through his efforts to brown-nose.
S2.E25 ∙ War & Sleaze
When Nina suggests a double date with her and her boyfriend, Maya isn't interested. But when Nina and Roger arrive at her apartment anyway, Maya agrees to have them and their friend Michael in for dinner. Then, while Maya is out of the room, Nina and Roger take off. And after he takes advantage of the moment with a kiss, his back goes out, leaving him stranded. Meanwhile, after insisting that Finch participate in an inter-office paint ball match, an accidental shot takes Jack out of the contest just as it's getting started. Only after realizing he can't move does Michael reveal that he's both married and a Congressman. Because his wife thinks he's on a hunting trip in Louisiana, he cannot call for help. However, Maya is determined to get him out of her apartment. But when Nina provides some pain pills to help get him up and around, he passes out cold. Meanwhile, Jack won't forgive Finch for taking him out of the paint ball contest early.

When Nina decides to take Maya's advice and not plunge into a sexual relationship just yet, Roy is frustrated. After FBI Agent Justin Morris shows up unexpectedly, Roy hides. And in an effort to help him escape the apartment, Nina invites Justin to join her for a dinner out. However, after Nina falls for the FBI agent, too, she comes back home and is surprised to find Roy has decided to stay with her, no matter what. Meanwhile, their constant wagering begins to interfere with everything Jack, Finch and Elliott are supposed to do. In love with both Roy and Justin, Nina turns to Maya for help. For Maya, the choice is clear. However, when Roy sneaks back into the office for some advice about a gift, Maya cannot resist helping him out. Meanwhile, their non-stop betting has ended with Elliott, Finch and Jack too reluctant to do anything. Finally, after receiving a beautiful new coat, Nina decides to stick with Roy. But when she tells Justin of her decision, the sexually frustrated Roy is hauled off to jail.

Maya's high school friend tells her he is responsible for a bad rumor that caused her unpopularity. He's come back to make it up to her. Jack dreams about Kevin killing him. His nightmares continue until he confronts Kevin in an elevator.

Finch meets up with an old friend and is ashamed of his feelings; whilst Elliot gets back at Nina for treating her assistant badly.

Kevin and Finch become roommates, and neighbors with Maya. She's not happy Finch still has a key to her apartment. Elliot sells Jack his beloved sports car, but isn't happy when Jack shows less love towards the car.

Jack wants to write a novel but ends up using a ghostwriter. With him out of the office, Nina, Elliot, and Maya compete for power over the magazine. No one produces much of anything related to quality.

The Blush staff agrees to corporate therapy after their bickering drives off a client. Dr. Drake complicates their teamwork when he advances Finch and Nina to blue binders, while Maya and Elliot sill have their red ones.

Finch produces a low-budget movie with the help of his coworkers and David Hasselhoff. Things go wrong, like a flaming bird house tragedy, Jack's scratched car, and Nina's physical affections towards her "son."

Elliot's grandmother offends him when she lavishes attention on Finch but ignores Elliot. Jack hangs a giant American flag on the side of the building. Nina thinks it makes the building look fat, and it turns Jack's office blue.

Finch's fellow band member, Greg(Huey Lewis), asks Nina out. She's mortified when she finds out they have an air band with imaginary instruments. Alan Thicke brings out Jack's competitive side. Maya gets upset when Jack drags her into it.

Jack hires a woman off the street to run the desk, but the staff thinks it's just because Jack wants to seduce her.

Vicky and Finch fight for Jacks approval. Nina loses a crazy woman in the office. Elliott asks Vicky out and is annoyed when she turns him down.

Nina dates a rock star and tries not to sleep with him on the first date. Maya tries to get Vicky to open up about her broken marriage. Jack gets a pocket watch, and gifts Elliott with a wristwatch to persuade him to stop using his own pocket watch.

Nina throws an A-list Halloween party and reluctantly invites the Blush team. Jack and Finch fight for the affections of a new model with Jack trying to use magic to win her. Maya helps Elliott realise that the only reason he keeps arguing with Vicky is because he likes her. Nina becomes jealous of her new boyfriend Simon and one of his old lovers.
