With Evan (Bradley Freegard) still missing, Faith (Eve Myles) represents a reformed criminal named Steve Baldini (Mark Lewis Jones), who may know something about her husband's disappearance. Back at the office Tom (Aneirin Hughes) makes a troubling discovery in the company archives that will upset Faith's trust of her husband, while DI Susan Williams (Eiry Thomas), a vindictive police officer who has crossed swords with Faith in the past, begins turning her attention towards Faith's recent behaviour.

With her husband still missing, Faith (Eve Myles) finds herself suspected of his murder by an old adversary. At work she defends a priest accused of petty theft while at home a showdown with her mother in law uncovers a long-buried family secret.

Faith begins to understand that Evan has been involved in collusion with a notorious criminal family and finds herself drawn into Abercorran's sinister underbelly. Meanwhile DI Williams continues to build her case against Faith and a search is mounted for Evan's body in the local quarry.

Despite being shaken by the aftermath of the break-in, Faith decides to represent an elderly farmer caught in a dispute with a ruthless landowner. Arthur receives a mysterious package, while Dr Alpay names a price for information about Evan, and Faith receives a disturbing visit from Gael Reardon.
