Three old men from Yorkshire who have never grown up face the trials of their fellow town citizens and everyday life and stay young by reminiscing about the days of their youth and attempting feats not common to the elderly.

Two new librarians arrive and are bent on keeping the morality of the library. Elsewhere, Compo's neighbor Gloria is moving to Australia, and Compo sees an opportunity to get his arms around Nora without risking getting hit.
S2.E3 ∙ The Changing Face of Rural Blamire
Thinking they have too much free time on their hands, the trio decides to find an occupation. They come across a dodgy, bankrupted dealer who persuades them to sell his new product, with disastrous results, particularly for Blamire.
S2.E4 ∙ Some Enchanted Evening
Compo is in open pursuit of Nora and Wally seizes his chance to try a run for freedom, Compo sees a chance to. "comfort" Nora - too bad Nora wants nothing to do with their plans.
S2.E5 ∙ A Quiet Drink
The trio tries to persuade a tight fisted man to buy a round of drinks. For that they elaborate a very peculiar plan.
S2.E6 ∙ Ballad for Wind Instruments and Canoe
The Trio meet a man on the river who has lost his canoe. They find it, port it for the gent and then have to retrieve it from the river when they decide to take an unauthorized trip of their own. Ivy wins a prize for having the best mouth-instrument

Compo takes up motorcycling much to the surprise of Blamire and Clegg.
S3.E1 ∙ The Man from Oswestry
Compo is missing Blamire, we learn from him, that Cyril Blamire has gone to live in Oswestry, after hearing a lady he is interested in has become a widow. Clegg has received a letter from Balmire, this letter asks the to meet someone off the bus. This someone is to be Foggy Dewhurst, whom they knew from their childhood and youth, he was a corporal sign writer, but now civilian. He is returning home to Arnold crescent, but no longer has any living relatives to meet.He arrives loaded with keepsake metal signs. Within a short time of meeting up with Foggy, Clegg announces Foggy is a "genuine 14 carat gilt edged barm pot". Foggy has fight fight in a pub with one of Compos many cousins, we don't see it, but despite Foggy boasts it last very little time, and the cousin comes in unscathed, unlike Foggy. The trio is now established.
S3.E2 ∙ Mending Stuart's Leg
Sid and Ivy never had children, and Ivy is disappointed in the way their life has turned out due, she feels, to Sid's lack of ambition. She wants Sid to fix the café roof. Compo and Clegg take Foggy to the library, to Foggy's indignation, this becomes the first time he has ever been thrown out of a library. The trio meet up with Stuart,he has a troublesome leg, They all go to the café, where they all, including Sid, have a look at Stuarts leg, and then a listen for the click it makes, incurring Ivy's wrath. They try to fix the roof for her, but as you would expect it all goes very wrong.
S3.E3 ∙ The Great Boarding-House Bathroom Caper
The trio decide to take a holiday near the seaside with Sid and Ivy in tow. The three share a room and find some unexpected friends in the hostel where they stay as well.
S3.E4 ∙ Cheering Up Gordon
The trio meet Gordon and go fishing. Compo teaches him about "how to pick up birds" and finds dates for everyone - which they weren't expecting. The husbands and wives have differing ideas of a vacation.
S3.E5 ∙ The Kink in Foggy's Niblick
Back from vacation the Boys decide to take up a sport, Foggy brags of his golfing past but when they hunt up his clubs they leave a lot to be desired, but Compo finds a new way to earn a bit of money

Gordon is said to be Compo's nephew and he is getting married - but when the Best Man is injured it's Compo to the rescue with hilarious results

Compo's favorite ferret has escaped not just from its cage, but from his house and he suspects that it is in Wally & Nora Batty's place but Nora won't let Compo anywhere near the place to look. How will he ever get it back?

Sid tries to install a door buzzer at the Cafe entrance. Nora Batty attempts to comfort Compo when he appears to be inconsolable.

Foggy is off in Wales visiting his lady-friend who lives with her Mother-in-law for a fortnight. Compo suggests to rent a car with Clegg driving with Compo, Sid, and Ivy (who wants to visit her sister) up to meet her, but he manages to break Foggy's foot; the mother-in-law prefers Compo over Foggy.

Foggy feels threatened by Norman and Compo's old friend Amos, who is as great a blow-hard as himself. There is some concern that Amos may be back in the village to rob the bank.

Foggy decides to become a one-man rescue and assistance service, but his efforts don't quite produce the intended result.

During their quest to find a treacle tin full of 'Yorkshire remains' Compo and a friend buried as children, the trio resort to ever more elaborate methods of approaching the problem. Taking a break in the pub, Compo and Clegg convince the barmaid that Foggy is an eccentric millionaire, having made his fortune in the frozen turkey business.

The trio devise an elaborate plan to allow Wally to escape the wrath of Nora Batty for an afternoon. Unfortunately, they need an equally elaborate plan to sneak him back to the house.

After stumbling across a health farm on a day out, the trio decide there's money to be made in selling junk food to the residents.
S7.E4 ∙ Cheering Up Ludovic
The trio encounter a very drunk Ludovic in a pub, and agree to drive his newly-acquired van home for him. Unfortunately, the van is also rather worse for wear.

Foggy has volunteered the trio's services in the upcoming variety show being held at a local church, but Clegg is unenthusiastic and Compo is rather more interested in the contents of the costume hamper.

Foggy's attempts at showing Clegg and Compo the arts of concealment aren't impressing anyone. But when assisting a passing motorist has unfortunate consequences for Compo, Foggy resorts to more basic methods of concealment.

The size of Nora's feet becomes an point of contention between Foggy & Compo ... When interrogating Wally yields no information, the Boys take to finding out for themselves whether Nora has big feet or if it's all stocking!

Foggy finds a discarded mattress and embarks on a campaign to clean up the area.

On their morning walk, Foggy, Compo, and Clegg notice neighbor Digby chasing his donkey around his paddock. Foggy puts his foot in everyone's mouth when he claims that all it takes is a bit of planning to catch the beast - and then volunteers the group to do it.

In a bid to impress Nora Batty, Compo starts training for the Yorkshire Marathon under Foggy's tuition, but it doesn't quite go as planned.

Ivy has an appointment but with no one to supervise Crusher she decides to shut down the café for the day - but Foggy thinks she is over reacting, so the trio "supervise" things ... Now if only there was someone to supervise them.

Compo, Clegg and Seymour happen upon a somewhat wiley tramp, who persuades them to help him rescue his childhood donkey (from better days), from a field. In fact the tramp wants to fix the 'donkey derby' at the local garden fete.

Compo wonders why people do not feel blood rush to their feet when they stand up so Seymour sets up another one of his odd experiments. A few of the village women have an afternoon tea and gossip party.

In the canal, the trio find what Seymour claims to be "Georgian Silver". They experiment with different methods to recover what treasure may yet be hiding in the depths.

Seymour, Campo, and Clegg visit their friend Clem in hospital after his hernia operation, but they find the best medicine has to be snuck into his room.

Seymour has Compo and Norman transplant a large fir tree, then invents grass skiing.
S10.E6 ∙ The Day of the Welsh Ferret
Compo is given a very nice, but ill-fitting suit to attend the funeral of the suit's former occupant. On the way to the visitation, Compo searches for, and finds, his stray ferret.

Seymour, Compo and Norman dressed as Father Christmas go door to door collecting for church charity, but no one is interested. A fourth Father Christmas is acting suspiciously and runs away when ever seen by the trio. Edie is scandalized that Glenda wants a water bed. Auntie Wainwright is terrified that her shop is going to be burgled Christmas eve.
S11.E1 ∙ Come Back Jack Harry Teesdale
Mrs. Teesdale hates coming home from Holiday. Seymour, Norman and Compo attempt to help the Teesdales with their problem. The ladies coffee group take Pearl to Sunday service, then they discuss Howard and men. Howard and Marina meet in a bus lay-by.

Compo announces that he is going to give Nora Batty a big kiss. Edie and Nora Batty intend to force Norman into a date with a childhood classmate.
S11.E3 ∙ Oh Shut Up and Eat Your Choc-Ice
Seymour, Compo and Norman accidentally dislodge a large round hay bale and attempt to move it back into place with the help of Barry and Wesley.
S11.E4 ∙ Who's That Bloke with Nora Batty Then?
Compo becomes curious when Nora Batty goes out midweek all dressed up without wrinkles in her stockings. Jealousy erupts when he sees her in The White Horse Pub with a strange man.
S11.E5 ∙ Happy Anniversary Gough and Jessie
The village gathers to celebrate a golden wedding anniversary. All goes well until the men decide to ditch the party and take the tee-totaling husband to a pub for a "marriage break".
S11.E6 ∙ Getting Barry Higher in the World
Seymour, Compo and Norman want to fly a kite. Seymour designs a kite but his brother-in-law, Wesley, uses the wrong measurements to build it. The women's morning coffee and gossip group share more of their twisted views on men.
S11.E7 ∙ Three Men and a Mangle
Nora Batty wants Compo, Norman and Seymour to take her mother's old mangle (wringer) to Sammy Peters. Howard attempts to become a master of disguise.
S11.E8 ∙ What's Santa Brought for Nora Then?
Compo is going to give a show in the church hall with his "performing" ferrets. Seymour and Norman take Compo last minute Christmas shopping for a present for Nora Batty. Howard attempts to give Marina a present without Pearl finding out.
S12.E1 ∙ Return of the Warrior
Seymour leaves for a new teaching job and Foggy Dewhurst makes his return, he can't find Compo or Clegg but the little village soon learns he's back- and the ladies coffee group decide trouble comes in threes.
S12.E2 ∙ Come in Sunray Major
Foggy has Wesley fix a pair of old WW2 walkie-talkies and he has Clegg and Compo take one out for a test, but a tractor mangles Compo's and he and Clegg have to come up with a way to explain the mistake without upsetting Foggy - enter Howard & Marina to the rescue!
S12.E3 ∙ The Charity Balls
A village charity is sponsoring a "Football Dribble" for teams of two, each team under the supervision of a responsible person. Foggy wants to be recognized as a "responsible person" so he enters Norman and Compo as a team. Howard tries to make Pearl believe that he has entered the Dribble, so she calls his bluff by promising to come to watch.
S12.E4 ∙ Walking Stiff Can Make You Famous
Foggy becomes overly concerned that he is not respected in the community, so he sets out to transform the game of Polo.
S12.E5 ∙ That's Not Captain Zero
A carnival has come to town but the main attraction, Captain Zero, has broken down along the side of the road - good thing Foogy and friends are there to... help?
S12.E6 ∙ Das (Welly) Boot
Clegg moves into his new house and Compo decides to impress Nora with his water-rescue skills, and Foggy becomes Ivy's new Fix-It-Man... and Barry has misplaced his car's engine.
S12.E7 ∙ The Empire That Foggy Nearly Built
Parking in the village has become a problem so Foggy intends to introduce Valet Parking, using an industrial ruin that is no where near the shopping area. He also does not own or have permission to use the property.
S12.E8 ∙ The Last Surviving Maurice Chevalier Impression
Compo goes on a televised talent show to impress Nora Batty
S12.E9 ∙ Roll On
Foggy enters Compo, Clegg, and himself in the local "Barrel Rolling Contest" where people crawl into empty oil drums and then are set rolling from the top of a large hill. Pearl buys Howard a gift - a tropical fish tank.
S12.E10 ∙ A Landlady for Smiler
Marina is not happy in her relationship with Howard. Smiler's dog has died. His wife has run off to Australia and his house has been sold. Foggy, Norman and Compo try to repair Howard's life and find lodging for Smiler.
S12.E11 ∙ Barry's Christmas
Foggy goes out of his way to inform everyone that he now has a pager. Barry is discovered, hungover, under a table at a pub, dressed as Father Christmas. Glenda is frantic that Barry is missing and snide comments from the lady's morning coffee group is not helping calm her fears.
S13.E1 ∙ Quick, Quick, Slow
Compo is very upset that Nora Batty has taken Smiler as a lodger. Foggy attempts to cure Compo of the "evil spirits" causing his depression by dancing.
S13.E2 ∙ Give Us a Lift
The trio develop an easier way to go up hill. Howard and Marina go bird watching.
S13.E3 ∙ Was That Nora Batty Singing?
Compo thinks that he hears Nora Batty happily singing so he obsessively spies on her imagining that she is having a romance with her lodger, Smiler.
S13.E4 ∙ Cashflow Problems
Compo is short of cash and decides to collect old debts.
S13.E5 ∙ Passing the Earring
Howard finds one of Marina's earrings caught in his jumper and is desperate to get it out of the house before Pearl sees it. Norman, Compo, Foggy and Smiler try to help.
S13.E6 ∙ Pole Star
Compo is envious of Smiler because Nora Batty has asked him to help around the house. Foggy thinks that he can break Compo out of a pouty mood by teaching him pole-vaulting to impress the ladies.

Norman, Compo and Foggy attempt to help Howard deliver a birthday card to Marina without Pearl finding out. Compo is a bit jealous of local athlete Ernie Burniston.

Compo hears Nora Batty say that she likes seeing men in riding. Misunderstanding Nora's statement, Compo dons old motorbike leathers, Foggy set him straight. Pearl wants Howard to be seen in public with her to stop rumors about him and Marina.
S14.E3 ∙ Phantom of the Graveyard
Pearl is forcing Howard to wear horribly garish clothing so that he will hide from Marina. Compo is uncharacteristically dapper in a new suit as he plans to attend the funeral of a former teacher.

Compo sees Nora Batty heading down the street with a suitcase. Wesley has purchased "something" from Auntie Wainwright.
S14.E5 ∙ Ordeal by Trousers
Ivy and Nora Batty are looking for volunteer performers for a church concert. Howard tries to convince Pearl that he wants to perform as a pantomime horse, in a costume requires two people. Foggy is, again, lying about his WWII experiences. Norman and Compo try to get him to submit to their child hood lie-detector test.
S14.E6 ∙ Happy Birthday, Howard
Marina wants Norman to deliver a "cuddly" birthday present to Howard when Pearl is not looking. Compo is upset by something Nora Batty says. Foggy is, again, ejected from the library for disturbing patrons.
S14.E7 ∙ Who's Got Rhythm?
Foggy is tired of being embarrassed by Compo "borrowing" money, so gainful employment is sought. Howard and Marina join a marching band.

Foggy says that Norman and Compo are not up to British standards of fitness so he puts them through an assault course in which he does not actually participate. Howard is promoting a phony bicycle race to get away from Pearl. Because of Foggy, Norman and Compo become stuck in drainpipes that were lying by the road.
S15.E2 ∙ Where There's Smoke There's Barbeque
A poll taker has the misfortune to stop Foggy on the street. Rumour has it that Howard has a wooden leg, but he is just performing carpentry out of wedlock. Auntie Wainwright sells Norman a portable barbecue.
S15.E4 ∙ Have You Got a Light Mate?
Howard wants Norman to purchase a present for Marina from Auntie Wainwright. The police pick up Foggy for suspicious behavior. The ladies are preparing a church jumble sale. Auntie Wainwright is pushing a new product.
S15.E5 ∙ Concerto for Solo Bicycle
Compo decides to take his bicycle out of storage, although it is in need of some basic safety repairs. The spectacle of Compo careening downhill without brakes inspires Foggy's inventive side. He enlists Wesley's help in building an invention to improve general bicycle safety, which of course Compo gets to test. Howard is worried that Pearl is attracted to a taller man, and tries several futile methods of increasing his height. Auntie Wainwright is keen on getting Smiler to make a delivery so she can collect on the sale, but Smiler becomes hesitant when he learns who the customer is. Glenda persuades the ladies to have a picnic lunch, but of course with Edie behind the wheel, no one enjoys the drive in the country. Their picnic spot is determined when they simply refuse to travel any further, and they soon find that the location is not as secluded as they might have wished.
S15.E6 ∙ Stop That Bath
Howard purchases a cast iron bath tub from Auntie Wainwright and needs Foggy, Norman and Compo to help deliver it to Marina. The ladies have a picnic.

Wesley gets Foggy, Norman and Compo to help him move a Piano for Auntie Wainwright almost running into Billy Ingleton, who takes a shine to the instrument. Foggy wants credit as the concert promoter for Billy. Howard and Marina wear, what they think are, disguises. Eli conducts The Holme Band at the concert. Compo saves the show.

Howard has indigestion. He has been eating the scented note paper on which Marina sends messages. Foggy is waxing nostalgic about the army upon seeing a pipe repair hole beside the road. Edie is terrorising the community with her erratic driving.

Compo goes into shock when he catches Nora Batty in a church hall closet with Billy Chiselhurst. When he recovers his senses, Compo, egged on by Foggy, challenges Billy to a duel at dawn.
S17.E11 ∙ A Leg Up for Christmas
A depressed Howard tries to build himself up but, under Foggy's instruction, ends up breaking his leg. Auntie Wainwright has Smiler testing a Triumph Motorcycle, after she rents him the riding gear. Foggy intends to sneak Marina past Pearl and into Norman's house so that Howard can come over to see her. Meanwhile, the ladies morning coffee group plan to give Howard a surprise visit that same evening to cheer him up during his recovery.
S17.E12 ∙ Extra! Extra!
A film company arrives to shoot "Circus Of Horrors". The actors, in full costume and horror makeup, are disappointed that the villagers hardly notice that they are there. Pearl plants a transmitter on Howard's bicycle and then takes the ladies out to hunt him down. To keep locals out of the way, the film company hires a few of them as extras. Barry goes to Auntie Wainwright for Glenda's birthday present.
S18.E1 ∙ The Love Mobile
Auntie Wainwright sells Smiler a tandem bicycle as incentive for him to sell it to someone else. A vindictive, argumentative couple with a mobile lonely hearts office in a caravan breakdowns outside the village. Wesley, Foggy, Norman and Compo try to assist. Howard devises a new way to be alone with Marina.

Clegg is trying to remember the name of a supervisor from his days of working at the Co-Op but no one knows who is is talking about so Truly & company try to hunt down some one who might remember and in the process Marina vows to keep herself chaste (at least in public). Mr. Tins dale (the repo man) tries to get a cuddle from his wife.
S26.E9 ∙ Lot No. 8
Auntie blind buys "Lot 8" from a catalog which describes it as consisting of 4 very useful containers ... Although Auntie finds that people probably won't buy them, Truly, Tom, and Alvin find a use for them - as a derby car! Glenda is upset that Barry looks married.

What started as a joke takes on a life of it's own when Clegg tells Howard that he was adopted and that his real parents were dead. Alvin is very insistent that he will get a kite to fly - and finds several ways to try to get it done.

Hobbo, Alvin and Entwistle promise a friend, who is laid up with a bad leg, that they will bury his dead ferret in the churchyard.

Hobbo decides to enlist Morton Beamish's help in re-uniting Toby with his wife. However Toby's wife takes quite a liking to Morton, a fact he'll have to hide from Toby. Meanwhile Mis Davenport is attracted to Hobbo, to his dismay.

Miss Davenport kisses Hobo. Glenda feels fat so she wants Barry to lose weight. Howard decides to give up chasing women. Pearl has had enough of Howard and throws him out.
