Alan visits a beautiful country garden in Berkshire to show us how to get the country look. From mosaic pathways to climbing clematis to rustic flower beds and beautiful ironwork benches. Meanwhile, Valentine Warner creates heavenly flavours from a country patch and Charlotte Uhlenbroek learns what to do when hedgehogs come calling.

Alan shows you how to create a garden that's perfect for a party. He reveals how to build an elegant bridge for your guests, how to plant around your seating areas and how to use dramatic garden lighting. Meanwhile Matt James and Valentine Warner join forces to create an alternative to the traditional barbecue, building a fire pit and cooking a stuffed leg of lamb.

Pete Mcginn had a been a front line police officer for 10 years before a routine patrol last June would change his life forever. Whilst trying to arrest a suspected burglar he was dragged along the road and slammed into a lamppost. He suffered serious injuries to his legs and pelvis and at one point had a life threatening blood clot. One year on he is enduring further operations and a gruelling physio-therapy regime. Just before his accident he had been looking forward to transforming the garden from a place to kick a football into something a bit more stylish. But with mum Suzy now looking after Pete, their autistic daughter Amelia and their two sons, the garden had become an unloved space with the couple too embarrassed to invite friends over.
