Man with a Camera
Former combat cameraman Mike Kovac is now a freelance photographer in New York City, specializing in difficult and dangerous assignments where he can get the kinds of pictures that other photographers can't, or won't take. He sometimes gets help, often reluctantly, from his contact in the police department, Lt. Donovan, and advice from his immigrant father Anton.

Mike grew up with a moody boxer who, now a big time professional, is more vulnerable than it seems, and he needs Mike's help.
S1.E2 ∙ The Warning
Mike is forced by two masked men to take a photo of a man just as he is being killed. The police ask Mike to let them spread the word that he can identify the killers. His father convinces him to do this, but this puts both father and son in danger.
S1.E3 ∙ Profile of a Killer
Mike is taken hostage after a bank holdup in which the owner is killed. The egotistical young robber and killer falls for Mike's suggestion that he take photos of him and send them to the newspapers to build up his image. Mike tries to provide clues to the robbers' plans in the photos.
S1.E4 ∙ Closeup on Violence
Kovac takes a crowd shot at a fire scene, inadvertently recording the daughter of an aged mobster, hiding out in a tough neighborhood. The old man is being protected by a gang of young hoods, or so he thinks.
S1.E5 ∙ Turntable
Mike takes pictures of a crooked gambler. Later he also takes pictures of the gubernatorial candidate who vows to put the gambler out of business if elected. But then his negatives are stolen and used to create a composite to make the candidate look like he is working for the gambling syndicate.
S1.E6 ∙ Double Negative
On a tip from a free-lance reporter, Mike takes a picture of a woman, and finds that she very strongly resembles a woman whose murder a man has been arrested for. But a boxer friend of Mike's says the woman is his girlfriend and not the allegedly murdered woman. Mike tries to find out the truth.
S1.E7 ∙ Another Barrier
Mike takes an assignment doing a story on a U.S. Air Force jet pilot. When the pilot doesn't return on schedule from a test flight, his fiancé is convinced he's died, and that it's her fault, so attempts suicide.

Mike travels to Lisbon in Europe to investigate the murder of an old war buddy photographer.
S1.E9 ∙ Two Strings of Pearls
Mike agrees to cover a garden party in Rome and meets a woman who is using a different name than when first encountered each other on a trans-Atlantic flight four years earlier. Mike learns she is connected with a notorious American con artist who is trying to steal an expensive string of yellow pearls.
S1.E10 ∙ Six Faces of Satan
During a heat wave, a mob forms to go after a local hoodlum when a girl claims that a man attacked her. But Mike, who was in the vicinity just before it happened, saw the girl go into the alley with a woman, not a man.
S1.E11 ∙ Lady on the Loose
The overprotected daughter of a European millionaire feels stifled by her chaperones and asks Mike for help in eluding them so she can see the town.
S1.E12 ∙ The Last Portrait
Mike sneaks into the guarded apartment of a visiting Arab dignitary, only to find him dead, after which he is hit over the head and accused of his murder. He escapes and tries to clear his name, with the help of the past-her-prime film star who occupies the apartment next door.

Curious about what made a ruthless killer who's been convicted of five murders, Mike enters the state prison to get a photograph and interview with the man before his execution. But during the interview, the killer puts his escape plan in motion, and takes Mike and a priest hostage.
S1.E14 ∙ Mute Evidence
Mike is invited out to a retired doctor's farm, but when he gets there he discovers that the doctor is missing, and the only person who knows anything about it is the doctor's deaf-mute ward.
S1.E15 ∙ The Big Squeeze
After a mobster,an old schoolmate of Mike's, is gunned down in front of Anton's shop, Mike finds out about a secret meeting of the heads of various organized-crime outfits and sets out to get some photos of it.
