Masterchef hopefuls will prepare their signature dishes and present them to judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot. The amateur cooks will be put through the paces, and only the most deserving will win a white apron and move on to the next round of the competition.

The auditions continue and as usual the contestants have five minutes to cook their signature dishes in front of the judges. Once they receive at least two votes from the three judges, they receive a white apron.

For their first mystery box challenge the contestants had sixty minutes to create a dish with salmon as the main ingredient as well as other ingredients as well.

For their fifth Mystery Box Challenge, the contestants had to cook a dish using three hand-dived scallops and other ingredients.

The contestants were divided into two teams and had to cook a slider and a side dish for a children's block party without using beef or potatoes.

Surf and Turf was the theme for the contestant's 6th Mystery Box Challenge. The Mystery Box consisted of live jumbo shrimp, Alaskan king crab, live craw fish, buffalo rib eye, porterhouse steak, and short ribs.

The remaining six contestants were divided into two teams at Patina restaurant and for one dinner service they had to replicate two signature appetizers and two signature entrées from the restaurant's menu.

For the first team challenge, the remaining 16 contestants were divided into two teams and were required to cook an entrée for 201 Marines. After tasting both entrées each Marine would vote and the team with the most votes would win the team challenge.

Guts are tested as the remaining fifteen contestants are challenged to create a unique dish using unconventional - and unappetizing - cuts of meat. The contestants who are most resourceful and think outside the box will make the cut and continue to the next round.

The judges plan a surprise trip for the amateur cooks, but the contestants are in for a rude awakening when the judges split them into teams to prepare hearty breakfast meals for hungry hotel guests. The teams must be organized and work efficiently, but tempers reach a new high during room service. Later, the losing team must prove they deserve to remain in the competition in an emotional elimination round.

The remaining five home cooks select the mystery box ingredients they will need to create a dish that best represents who they are, but the judges surprise the contestants with a game changing twist. Later, in the elimination challenge, the home cooks will have a limited amount of time to conceptualize and recreate one of Graham Elliot's signature dishes that he served to President Barack Obama at his flagship restaurant. In the most intimidating challenge of the season, the final four home cooks will split into two teams to prepare an exquisite three-course meal for the judges and three world-renowned chefs: Daniel Boulud, Alain Ducasse and Guy Savoy. The Michelin-starred guest judges will help critique each course and evaluate each dish's flavor, originality and culinary finesse. The winning pair will earn a spot in the Top 3, while the losing team will compete head-to-head in a heated pressure test featuring souffle. The Top Two finalists have one last chance to prove to the judges that they have the passion, skill and drive worthy of the MASTERCHEF title. In their final challenge in the MASTERCHEF kitchen, the two home cooks will conceptualize and prepare the most important three-course meal of their lives.

The menu was created from the likes and dislikes of the bride and groom. The remaining 5 contestants had to cook 50 portions for a charity lunch hosted by guest judge Paula Deen. The dish consisted of 1 protein and 2 sides. Deen would select the top 2 dishes and those two would be safe from the Pressure Test.

The four contestants were divided into two teams and had two mystery boxes containing fifty ingredients each and were required to make a three course menu consisting of an appetizer, entreé and dessert.

In their first team challenge, the contestants will split into two teams - the red team and the blue team - to create a hearty meal including one protein and two side dishes. Tempers flare as both teams struggle with consistency, and every dish counts as the troops will vote for their favorite dish and determine the winning team. Later, the losing team will face an intense pressure test featuring the all-American classic, blueberry pie. Find out whose dessert will prove to be a victory and who will be sent home.

S5.E17 ∙ Top 4 Compete
Team Challenge: The final four cooks were divided into two pairs. Courtney chose Elizabeth as her teammate on the Red Team, leaving Cutter and Leslie as the Blue Team. Each pair had to choose a box of ingredients from one of their home states. Courtney and Elizabeth chose Pennsylvania, and Leslie and Cutter chose Texas. Each pair then had to make an appetizer and an entrée based on what was in their box. Courtney and Elizabeth were narrowly judged as the winners, leaving Cutter and Leslie going head to head in the pressure test. Team Challenge Winners/Immune: Courtney Lapresi and Elizabeth Cauvel Bottom two: Cutter Brewer and Leslie Gilliams. Pressure Test: Cutter and Leslie were assigned to a California box of ingredients, and the judges introduced three different dishes they would make from those ingredients. The challenge was to replicate all three dishes in ninety minutes, with each judge evaluating who did a better job of replicating it. Leslie defeated Cutter by two dishes to one, eliminating him and advancing to the final three. Eliminated: Cutter Brewer.

The last 3 cooks cooked an entrée for 50 chefs, symbolizing the 50 states of America. The 3 cooks randomly selected the eliminated contestants to help prepare the 50 portions. The cook with the most votes will advance to the finale.

For the finale, Elizabeth and Courtney were required to cook a three course meal for each of the judges.

In order to move to the next round, the home cooks must have an immense passion for food and be determined to out-cook their rivals in a series of head-to-head battles to earn a coveted white apron and compete for a chance to win the MASTERCHEF title, a cookbook deal and the $250,000 grand prize.
S6.E3 ∙ You're the Apple of My Eye
After the Battle for the Apron concludes, the Top 20 home cooks in America will face their first Mystery Box Challenge. Each contestant is given 20 staple ingredients that anyone could find in their home and tasked with preparing a dish for the judges -- were the judges to show up at their homes for dinner. The winner of the Mystery Box Challenge will receive a significant advantage in the season's first pressure test, during which contestants must make their versions of an apple pie.
S6.E4 ∙ Cinnamon Roll-er Coaster
After the apple pie elimination test, the remaining 22 home cooks will face their first team challenge of the season at an amusement park. Once teams are decided, each team will be tasked with creating its version of an amusement park burger and fish and chips dish for thousands of amusement park guests. The winning team will be safe from elimination, while the losing team will have to face the first pressure test of the season, during which the home cooks will make 12 cinnamon rolls. Find out which home cooks will continue to ride in the competition and who will leave the MASTERCHEF kitchen for good.
S6.E5 ∙ Clawing to Victory
In the next mystery box challenge, the home cooks will have to come out of their shells when they must prepare unique crab dishes for the judges. The home cook who prepares the best crab dish will receive a significant advantage before the next elimination challenge. Then the remaining home cooks will create their versions of sweet or savory dishes, using the same surprise ingredient of corn.
S6.E6 ∙ What Happens in Vegas Steaks in Vegas
In the second field challenge of the season, the home cooks will take a surprise trip to Las Vegas, where they will be split into two teams to take over Drai's Nightclub and feed 101 Las Vegas performers. The team who receives the most winning votes from the Las Vegas performer diners will be safe from the next pressure test, while the losing team will be dealt with a deuce steak contest at Gordon Ramsay's Steak. In the pressure test, the home cooks will face two steak challenges testing temperature and taste, and one contestant will be sent home for good.
S6.E7 ∙ Bring Home the Bacon
In the next challenge, it's proven that Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day when the home cooks are each tasked to create an elevated breakfast dish in 45 minutes. Not only will the winner have immunity in the next mystery box challenge, but they will also receive two additional advantages. Later, in the mystery box challenge, contestants must create TV dinners. Find out who will go home and who will bring it home.
S6.E8 ∙ Happy Birthday MasterChef
In the next team challenge, the remaining home cooks will celebrate a MASTERCHEF milestone, the 100th episode! Each team will prepare a two-course menu for the 100th episode celebration, during which VIP guests will dine on oyster and caviar appetizers and a duck breast entree, followed by a special surprise dish by judge Christina Tosi. The losing team will face the next pressure test, in which contestants must create a three-layer birthday cake in the special.
S6.E9 ∙ Gordon's Greatest Hits
In the next challenge, the remaining home cooks will learn from the best as they enter a special taste-it-and-make-it challenge. Each contestant must recreate Gordon Ramsay's signature Beef Wellington. The home cooks with the worst dishes will compete in the next pressure test, featuring another Gordon Ramsay dish - scallops with puree of English peas, bacon and quail eggs, finished with shaved truffles. Find out who can keep up with the master and who will be sent home for good.
S6.E10 ∙ Rice Rice Baby
In the next mystery box challenge, the remaining home cooks will be faced with an assortment of rice. Each contestant must create a rice dish in 60 minutes. The contestant with the winning dish will be featured in Family Circle Magazine and will not have to participate in the next elimination challenge. Then, in the elimination challenge, contestants will be tasked with creating dishes based on dynamic duo ingredients. Find out who will make it into the Top 10 best home cooks in America and who will leave the MASTERCHEF kitchen.
S6.E11 ∙ Moo-vers and Bakers
The Top 10 home cooks enter the Wild West when they face their next team challenge and create steak meals for 101 cowboys and ranchers. The team that receives the most winning votes will moo-ve on in the competition, while the remaining home cooks will face the next pressure test. Back in the MASTERCHEF kitchen for the pressure test, the losing team will bake tarts and see who can bake their way to victory.
S6.E12 ∙ Family Reunion
The Top 10 home cooks will cook family style when they face their next team challenge and create family style meals for VIP diners. After each team prepares their family style meals, they are greeted by the dinner guests, their family members. Each diner will vote for one team's meal and the team with the most votes will be safe from the next pressure test. In the pressure test, the losing team home cooks must create a gnocchi-in-brown-sage-butter-sauce dish.
S6.E13 ∙ A Little Southern Flare
In the next mystery box challenge, the remaining home cooks must prepare a flambe. The winner of the challenge will not only be safe from the next elimination challenge, but will also determine which Southern dish the contestants must make. The winner also will receive two other significant advantages. Find out whose cooking will go south and who will continue in the competition.
S6.E14 ∙ Getting A-Head in the Competition
In the next team challenge, the remaining home cooks will split into teams to prepare vegetarian meals for guests of the MASTERCHEF restaurant. Teams will have access to any ingredients that they choose in the MASTERCHEF pantry, as long as the dishes are vegetarian. The winning team will be safe from elimination, while the losing team must cook in the next pressure test and create delicious well-composed meals using various cuts from an animal head. Find out who will move on in the competition and who will leave the kitchen for good.
S6.E15 ∙ A Storm's a Brewing
In the next mystery box challenge, the remaining home cooks must create a dish using coffee as one of the main ingredients. The winner of the challenge will receive a significant advantage in the next pressure test and will be safe from elimination. Then, during the pressure test, contestants will team up in pairs as they replicate an elaborate party platter.
S6.E16 ∙ The Restaurant Takeover
In the next team challenge, the Top Six home cooks will face the wildly popular restaurant takeover. Each team must complete two appetizer and two entree dishes for the dining guests in a downtown Los Angeles restaurant. The winning team will be safe from elimination, while the losing team must face the next pressure test, in which all members of the losing team must prep, cook and plate three different pasta dishes. Find out who can't stand the heat of the restaurant kitchen and who will move on to the Top 5.
S6.E17 ∙ Return of the Champions
In the next mystery box challenge, the Top Five home cooks must create a dish using pear, blue cheese, tomato, portabella mushroom and chocolate. The winner of the challenge receives two advantages: first, he/she will be safe from elimination; then the challenge winner will choose which of four different baskets filled with ingredients - put together on his/her own and with three former MASTERCHEF winners - the remaining contestants must cook with. Find out who will be one step closer to joining the champions and who will be eliminated.
S6.E18 ∙ Think Inside the Box
After learning from past champions in last week's episode, the four remaining contestants put that knowledge to use in the next team challenge. Using special ingredients provided by judges Gordon Ramsay and Graham Elliot, each team must create a unique appetizer and entree - and create them three times!. The winning pair will automatically move into the Top Three, while the losing pair must face the next pressure test, in which they must recreate judge Christina Tosi's world-famous Chocolate Malted Layer Cake. Find out who will be eliminated and who will take the cake and move into the Top Three.
S6.E19 ∙ Team Gordon Ramsay
The home cook with the most number of votes will move on in the competition, while the remaining two home cooks will face the next pressure test, during which they must complete three classic MASTERCHEF dishes. The home cook with the best dishes will move on to the finals.

Each contestant will have 60 minutes to create a dish of their choice that features one of the world's most fundamental ingredients - potatoes! The winner of the Mystery Box Challenge is rewarded with a significant decision going into the season's first elimination challenge, during which they will have to replicate one of Chef Ramsay's signature dishes in less than 60 minutes.
S7.E4 ∙ A Masterchef Wedding
In their first MASTERCHEF field challenge, the Top 18 home cooks are divided in to two teams where they will have to prepare appetizers and entrees for a very special guest and member of the MASTERCHEF family, season 6 contestant Nick Nappi on his wedding day! Not only will they feel the pressure from Gordon Ramsay, Christina Tosi and a former contestant but also Nick's bride and 72 hungry wedding guests. The winning team will earn a significant advantage in the next elimination challenge.
S7.E5 ∙ A Mexican Mystery
After a dramatic elimination, the remaining 17 home cooks are greeted by Chef Ramsay and Tosi, as well as special guests Season Six winner Claudia Sandoval and guest culinary judge Aaron Sanchez, as they reveal the next mystery box challenge. Each contestant will have 60 minutes to create his/her own unique dish using a number of Sandoval's favorite ingredients. The winner of the challenge will not only be safe from the next elimination round, but will also help in deciding the fate of three other contestants in the elimination. This week, the remaining 16 home cooks get a very special treat leading into the next challenge, as Chef Ramsay demonstrates how to properly deconstruct a lobster. They will then each have 25 minutes to kill, poach and shell a lobster, just as they learned from the master, and the winner will have the advantage of choosing which team he or she will join for the next field challenge. For the second part of the challenge, Chef Ramsay demonstrates how to make lobster tortellini in a seafood broth. The contestants have 45 minutes to recreate Ramsay�۪s dish. The remaining 15 cooks split up into two teams for their second major field challenge, which includes prepping and serving a steak, two side dishes and a sauce for 101 veterans, whose votes will determine which group will face the pressure test.
S7.E8 ∙ The Good, the Bad and the Offal
The contestants are introduced to special culinary guest judge Edward Lee, chef and owner of 610 Magnolia in Louisville, KY, who reveals the third Mystery Box challenge. Contestants lift their boxes only to find a $20 bill. They will each have five minutes to shop for ingredients priced in the pantry without spending more than $20. Then they will have 45 minutes to prepare four entree dishes to present to the judges. Not only will the winner and the winner's dish be featured in Family Circle magazine, but he/she also will avoid having to participate in the elimination challenge. The contestants were split into two teams to prepare 30 portions for patrons that were celebrating their 16th birthdays. One team won with eighty percent of the votes and the losing team had to bake a three layer cake for the pressure test.

The losing contestants from the Sweet 16 Challenge in last week's episode are faced with the Birthday Cake pressure test and will have 90 minutes to bake a three-layer birthday cake. After a dramatic elimination, the remaining contestants are dropped off in the middle of a vegetable field and surprised by the judges - Gordon Ramsay, Christina Tosi and guest judge Edward Lee - who inform them of their next team field challenge. The teams go head-to-head with 75 minutes to prepare and cook their dishes, followed by 45 minutes to serve more than 100 hungry farmers.

The Top 10 contestants have 60 minutes to prep, cook and plate a Nutella breakfast dish. The winner, who is safe from the next elimination challenge, also gets to choose what dish the other contestants must prepare for the challenge. Will it be paella, bibimbap or risotto.

The MASTERCHEF kitchen is transformed into a full dining room, as it welcomes purveyors of the finest local ingredients, ranging from butchers and vegetable farmers, to beekeepers and herb growers. After splitting into two teams, the home cooks must prepare dishes using the guests' own ingredients. The purveyors will then vote on which team created a better dish, forcing the losing team to head back to the kitchen for a pressure test, during which they will cook a classic Italian dessert, the cannoli. The remaining home cooks pair up for a skills test to create a restaurant-quality dish featuring five ingredients - only to leave one contestant without a pair. The remaining five cooks receive a heart-warming mystery box challenge in which contestants create a dish inspired by their loved ones.

Donning on their black aprons, the final five contestants are put through a fearsome trio of consecutive pressure-filled skills tests gauntlet using an incredibly common American protein: beef. The judges decide which quarter-finalist claims a safe spot up on the balcony and who faces another culinary test elimination challenge test. The 2 weakest home cooks go head-to-head to claim the last spot in the Top 4 semifinals, while the other is sent home, ending their MasterChef journey.
