Working for the Hong family, Van finds himself the object of Mrs Hong's affections; Pascalle suffers through the indignity of working for a living; Cheryl sticks up for her fellow checkout chicks and learns that being on the right side of the law doesn't necessarily mean being honest.
Cheryl receives some unwanted attention from two of Wolf's best mates and Jethro's supposed Maori heritage comes under fire.
Eric's son Billy 'The Kid' Grady West dies in a misfortunate wheelie bin accident which gets Wolf released from prison to attend the burial. He manages to persuade the security guard, Paul, to let him go to the wake where Wolf rekindles his relationship with Cheryl and Loretta decides that Paul will do nicely in her attempt to lose her virginity and get Pascalle off her back. Wolf tells Jethro he is disappointed in him and then heads back to prison but not before Van tries to break Wolf out. Wolf tells him to go back home and look after Cheryl. Later, Cheryl talks to Jethro about Wolf and she faces up to the fact that if she wants her family to survive, she can't be with him any more. Her marriage is, in effect, over. So the best thing that can possibly happen is that Wolf stays in prison for as long as possible - because she can't bear to tell him.
Cheryl has sunk to an all time low and her kids become worried about her so they each resolve to do their bit to help out. Of course, being Wests, this 'help' isn't without an element of self-interest. Pascalle decides to become a stripper at The Champagne Club on the advice of club owner Robby who tells her it will get her modeling contracts. Van goes to Wolf about Cheryl who is less than sympathetic and is more keen to set up Van on another 'dodgy' job. Van also has his problems with Mrs. Hong and Mr. Hong's daughter Tracey which could lead to Mr. Hong doing great damage to Van if he's caught. Loretta tries to generate income by selling bootleg pre-release DVD's, bought from the Hongs, through the Video Hut. Later, when Jethro stands in for Van on a delivery to the Hongs, because Van is on the 'dodgy' job with Sparky, he meets Tracey who mistakes him for Van and they end up sleeping together - Tracey is none the wiser about which twin she has sex with. Meanwhile, Sparky is knocked unconscious by Loretta as the 'dodgy' job turns out to be burning down the Video Hut. The next day Mr. Hong announces to Van and Tracey that Suzy is pregnant - it's Van's (although Mr. Hong doesn't suspect). Loretta confronts Pete about the attempted arson job. He admits it so Loretta takes over running the Video Hut. Cheryl livens up as she's super proud of her kids but her kids cannot quite look her in the eye.
Grandpa finds love in all the wrong places and Loretta does not cope well with it. Pascalle has her first secret admirer.
Jethro interferes with Loretta's blackmailing of her vice-principle forcing her to attend school where she must give a speech on her family. Ted plans to leave the West household to live with Margaret and Jethro gets admitted to the bar.
Cheryl receives a lucrative offer at her new job, Pascalle loses out on a modelling job to to a former fat schoolmate and plots revenge and the kids get Cheryl an ugly stolen clock for her birthday.
Van runs into problems with his new managerial job, causes bad blood between his family and the Doslics and seeks Draska's help. Jethro attempts to apologise to Tracy Hong for impersonating Van.
Pascalle gets a modelling job and meets a celebrity who could give her her big break and Hoochie Mama's finances end up in the wrong pockets causing ire between Cheryl and a client, Judd's wife.
Van (with the help of Munter) attempts to 'acquire' some money to pay for Wolf's lawyer but the job goes amiss. Pascalle grows annoyed by Grant's acts of love and Cheryl gets harassed after being falsely accused of being an informant.
Van and Draska have financial issues, Jethro changes teams and Cheryl suffers from information overload.
Van and Draska are kicked out of the Doslic family home and are also on the run from the law. Despite this, Draska is still determined to carry on with the wedding and enlists Pascalle as her bridesmaid. Cheryl has bottomed out but finds Judd may be Van's saviour. So Cheryl delivers an ultimatum to Wolf, if he uses the evidence against Judd in his appeal, then Van will go to jail - and if Van goes to jail, then Cheryl won't be waiting for Wolf when he gets out. Wolf is not thrilled at this deal and he puts pressure on Jethro to make sure Van does the right thing. Cheryl enlists Munter to keep Van away from Draska. Cheryl turns up at the Rusty Nail where Van and Draska are having their hen & stag nights and punches out Draska and brings her back to her apartment. As Cheryl drives away Loretta turns up with a knife. Next morning Draska's apartment is raided by the police and she discovers that the stolen money has been ripped out of the mattress. Back at the West home Loretta is a very happy and a rich young woman. Next day, Van still wants to marry Draska. Loretta offers Draska the money she stole to jilt Van which she does after all the Wests object to the wedding. So the series ends with a West no-wedding party. Wolf's home; Judd and Cheryl have parted; Van is a free man; Pascalle is in the sack with Kurt and Loretta is still despairing of her family.
The Wests are in shock, when Judd arrives one morning and arrests Loretta. Wolf is convinced in his daughter's innocence and that this is Judd's attempt to get at him. Meanwhile Munter is jumped by a pack of Tongans who gave him 24 hours to return the money, which Munter doesn't have. Draska's got them, but someone stole them from her as well. While Loretta is wondering who sang everything to the cops, Jethro points at Wolf who might be the guilty party regarding the money.
Van has difficulties figuring out how Draska could be carrying his child, when they were safe each time they were together. Munter is on the case and while trying to grasp Draska's scheme, he also has the responsibility to keep Van away from Draska at all costs. Hoochie Mama is a success but it's not making any profits. Mrs Doslic wants to invest in the company but Cheryl is quite reluctant and is trying to get a bank loan. That option goes to hell thanks to Wolf. So Hoochie Mama' brand new investor is surprisingly, Tracy Hong. Cheryl shares Munter's opinion regarding Draska and tries to help him. Meanwhile, Loretta's DVD operation is in danger. She has to turn to Pascalle to sit behind the counter of the Video Hut. Because of the recent blow in her modeling career, Pascalle turns into a bully to the geeks and people who don't pay their late fines. That's how she discovers Hayden Peters, to whom instead of yelling over unpaid fines, Pascalle gets the hots for.
Little prick boy-racers called The Phat Hard Crew started harassing Wolf during his home detention. Jethro shows off his impressive new office to Grandpa and Loretta and they stumble upon a safe, hidden behind a painting. In the mean time Pascalle brags around with her new boyfriend Hayden, who actually seems much more interested in her family and not in her.
It's Loretta's 16th birthday and everyone is preparing for the party. The birthday girl, however seems preoccupied with the scheme how to drop out of school for good. Wolf and Cheryl don't support Loretta in that decision. Cheryl is concerned about Loretta and she is completely baffled at Rochelle and Kasey's opinion of her daughter. Pascalle has no more interest in the Videohut. Her whole attention is on her boyfriend Hayden. She advises Loretta to get herself expelled. So Loretta behaves pretty badly and Ms Darling grants her wish. Now she is free to spend all her time at the Videohut, where she discovers Jools, a homeless girl, who lives and works there, thanks to Pascalle's good heart. Meanwhile Wolf has different plans for his youngest child - he enrolled Loretta into the private school of St. Ignatius. Loretta refuses to go but her parents force her. T get out of that nightmare Loretta suggests to the homeless Jools to take her place at school. Van and Munter do a big score with a truck, loaded with lobsters. Van reckons this scheme will grant him Wolf's approval once again.
Sparky is facing jail on a very serious arson charge. Wolf hires Jethro as his attorney. Jethro can't win unless a witness can prove Sparky was elsewhere and therefore unable to have start the fire. Wolf pressures Van to be the witness. Van reluctantly agrees. On the day when he has to give his statement, Munter who is only trying to help, gives Van his mum's special cookies. Everything is about to go to hell, because Jethro discovers how baked Van is. So they change clothes and their places, like they always do when there is a crisis. Luckily the prosecutor turns the judge against himself and the case is dismissed due to lack of evidence. Sparky walks free. Wolf is very pleased with Jethro and offers him a cut in the new job he's planning. Hoochie Mama's business gets threatened when an unsatisfied male customer injured himself putting on one of the women's pair of knickers. He wants legal process, Cheryl is very concerned, but Tracy reckons it'll go away if it's ignored. Pascalle impatiently waits Hayden to propose because according to her all the signs are there.
During the first Hoochie Girl competition hosted at the Rusty Nail, Van bumps into Aurora, his high school fling. After pronouncing Aurora the winner of the contest, Van finds her and tries to get some answers about his broken heart. Turns out on his 16th birthday Van saw Aurora in bed with Jethro, while she was assuring Van of her true feelings for him. However, Aurora runs without an explanation. Van continues his obsession with her as he picks up the g-string Aurora dropped after she ran away. He is determined to see her again but doesn't know how to find her. Pascalle remembers Aurora and shares that she joined the motorcycle gang The Horsemen. Aurora is his leader, Tyson's girlfriend. Van and Munter arrive at the Horsemen headquarters, where it's pretty obvious they can't get in. But Van finds a way - to deliver some pizzas. Successfully in, he finds Aurora in the kitchen and they straighten all out. Turns out she never knew that she rooted Jethro instead of Van. Now that all is clear, Aurora tells Van she never stopped loving him. The conversation is interrupted by her huge boyfriend, Tyson. Everyone at home is shocked when Loretta starts to feel nauseated all the time. She isn't pregnant, nor sick, then what? Ted enlightens his favorite granddaughter - Loretta is jealous of Pascalle and in love with Hayden. The Hoochie Mama squad meet with the very rich Andrew Coddington on Tracy's advice. He takes an interest in their business. But what exactly?
Van's hanging around Horsemen' headquarters catches DI Grisham's attention. Judd can't throw any light on this matter. Pascalle is a little ignored by Hayden, who is so focused on work. To keep Pascalle happy while he's busy, he presents her with some nice, ecstasy pills. Pascalle shares them with Ted, who is a feeling under the weather. Loretta seeks refuge in the Videohut, while Munter is missing Van's company. Eric interrupts a meeting at Hayden's office. There he finds Wolf, Van, Sparky and Hayden planning something. Eric warns Wolf about sergeant Judd's sniffing around. Jethro comes home to pick up his ironing as Judd arrives to inquire about Van's activities. Jethro doesn't buy the purpose of his visit, especially not after he saw Judd leaving the hotel, where Cheryl was staying. Cheryl is concern about Van. She has a nice, warm chat with him about Aurora. Van cracks and shares with his mum everything about Wolf's plan: there will be a meeting of several biker gangs, who plan a major drug deal. They will be bringing significant cash to the meeting and Wolf is planning to steal it. To get Van out of this job, Cheryl arranges a surprise for Van with Munter's help. She organized Aurora to come to their house for a two-hour visit as the new Hoochie Mama model. That way Van and Aurora are finally reunited. But now Van doesn't want to let her go ever, so he tells Wolf he is out of the job. Cheryl meets with Judd at the Rusty Nail and asks him to stop Wolf at any cost. Wayne would do anything for her, so he calls Wolf and tells him everything about his affair with his wife. Wolf violates his parole and after finding and beating up Judd, later with Jethro's help he's free from the ankle bracelet.
At the Rusty Nail, Van and Munter work on plan how to get Aurora away from the Horsemen. The policemen are at high alert over this motorcycle 'convention', happening at the Horsemen' headquarters. Judd is asking questions, particularly Hayden over Wolf's disappearance. Jethro is mortified over the idea of dirtying his hands more during the job, especially after Van's quieting. When Van declines to return, Jethro shares with him that Cheryl and Judd are having an affair. Van confronts Judd but the sergeant' honest replies win him over. Pascalle is playing a happy home-maker with the big plan to move in. When Hayden comes home and sees her suitcases and stuff, he quickly ends her fantasies. Crushed, Pascalle gathers her luggage and returns home. That evening everyone seems to be quite busy. Wolf, Sparky, Jethro and Hayden are ready for the job, while the drunken gangs are gathered at Horsemen' headquarters. Van and Munter successfully infiltrate the gathering, in disguise. Back at home, Pascalle, Cheryl and Loretta are sharing their troubles and drinking. Cheryl confesses to her daughters her affair with Wayne Judd. Pascalle and Loretta obviously can't swallow that betrayal. And as for a job well done, Wolf and his team manages to snatch the safe with the gang' money. Sadly the plan goes a little badly when Sparky starts the fire to cover their tracks. But it all goes well for Van, who rescues Aurora and Munter drives them away in the commotion.
Wolf's disappearance gives everyone the chills. Most worried is Pascalle, who embarks on a mission in the woods to seek her father. She is accompanied by Eric and Munter. Cheryl starts to doubt Wayne after she visits his house for the first time and stumbles across Judd's rifle collection. Cheryl begins to think Wayne might have killed Wolf. Van and Aurora enjoy their time together. However he is increasingly tense about her safety. The plan is to get Aurora to Munter's mum's house in the Coromandel. The morning when they are packing the car to take the trip, Tyson arrives and sees Aurora. The clash between the enraged Tyson and the terrified Van is inevitable, but will Aurora manage to bring peace between them after all?
Hoochie Mama's big day comes - the business has premises now. While Cheryl shares her joy with the family and new employed staff, Judd's turning up to support her, backfires. At home where Aurora has taken all the domestic duties, the household still suffers the lack of money. During the whole drama interesting facts come to the surface - Loretta won second place in a swimming competition at school, the arrival of a letter from the Inland Revenue Department to audit Hoochie Mama and a phone call that's for poor little Pascalle, who's being caught shoplifting and detained.
Jethro and Hayden seems to be bonded quite a lot as they go out shopping and having lunch together. However, Tracy doesn't really get that friendship. She decides to join them, but unfortunately gets kidnapped from Hoochie Mama. When the Hongs hear about the vanished Tracy, they get Van to guard little baby Jasmine not to suffer the same fate. While Aurora is completely smitten by the baby, Van tries his best not to even make eye contact with Jasmine. He is the real father and is scared that he might come to love and want the baby in his life. Tracy is kept in an abandoned house by not other than Eric. She soon discovers the identity of her keeper and decides to help him get ransom from her father. Shockingly, Mr. Hong refuses to pay the ransom. The crushed and unloved Tracy ditches her plan with Eric, leaves her family and moves in with Jethro. Cheryl and Judd are on the rocks over their different opinions regarding the case. At the Videohut, Hayden gives Loretta the opportunity of a lifetime - to direct a film he's producing. Sadly, the film happens to be porn. Loretta can't fight her feelings for Hayden anymore. Luckily for her, Hayden feels the same way about her.
Van does everything to buy a cute little house for him and Aurora, so they could be on their own. Munter is happy for them but is feeling a little left out. Not to mention the pending court case he's facing regarding some stolen car doors. Jethro is his lawyer, who gets a brilliant idea how to get him off. Pascalle finds her dream job at the old folks' home. It may have started as a community services job, but for her it may turn into a career. Van knocks on several doors to raise the money including a possible bank loan, but the solution to the problem comes from the most unusual person. Suzy will give him the money only if he gives her another baby, preferably a son to complete her happy family. Awfully as it sounds, Van decides to take this option. Munter spills the beans of Van's plan in front of Jethro, who has some unfinished business to settle with his twin.
Grampa's senility is getting worse, Loretta and Hayden are still having hot secret sex, and Pascal is actually enjoying working at the retirement home... until a man dies in her aerobics class. When Cheryl starts talking about putting Ted in the old folks' home, Ted takes the first opportunity to barricade himself in the house. Once the rest of them manage to get in, they come to a compromise; instead of putting him in a home, they will make a roster and take it in turns to mind him. After only half a day of it, however, they all start to agree with Cheryl that he may be past their help. When the responsibility of telling Grampa that he's going to a home falls on Jethro, he uses the guise of 'going to a safe house' to get Ted to agree. Then the Wests have the job of cleaning out the foul smelling caravan of all the stolen nick-nacks and dead mice. While doing so, Cheryl finds the last will and testament of Wolf.
The Wests are gathered by Cheryl, who informs them of Wolf's affair with Anne-Marie Gibbs and the result - Brandon. It turns out that being a half brother to Jethro, Van, Pascalle and Loretta, the news is both laughable for some, and quite sad for others. Apparently, Pascalle rooted Brandon. Cheryl hopes that the showing of Loretta's short film at school will cheer everyone up. Loretta is very nervous, because it's not her film, it's Jools. The big night comes and hell is unleashed, when the Wests witness a story about a girl being sexually molested by an older male. Loretta tries to explain it's all made up, but Kasey fuels Cheryl's suspicions over Eric's constant present in the Wests' home. Judd pays a visit to Anne-Marie to search for Wolf. But he runs into Brandon and tells him who his real father is. Dr Khan discovers the reason for Ted's weird behavior. Ted has a brain tumor, but operable. At the day of the operation, Hayden decides it's time for him and Loretta to go public and they show up in the waiting room. Now it's up to Loretta to clear all the mess about that revolting film and put Cheryl's mind at ease once and for all.
Sparky is feeling incredibly guilty about the last job he did alongside Wolf, Jethro and Hayden. He has found salvation in God and now is blabbing to everyone, including the cops what he did. Judd informs Cheryl about the danger that the Wests are about to encounter. She sends Van and Aurora to guard Sparky day and night at his creepy shed. Jethro and Hayden, both quite panicking are ready to face Sparky and make shut him up. But things are about to get much worse, when Sparky gets away from his 'bodyguards' Van and Aurora and when he finds himself at the pub, where is Tyson, who hears his entire confession. Loretta and Pascalle discuss some issues on their way home. When they enter the house, they find it completely empty of all furniture and personal belongings.
The Wests are attacked by fleas after Eric supplies them with mattresses for their emptied home. Thanks to Judd's generous heart and the payout he got for leaving the police force, he is ready to buy everything the Wests need. Eric informs Wolf about all that's happening with his family. Wolf has big plans to show everyone, who is still the boss. So he arranges a meeting with Judd. Pascalle is determined to reconstitute her virginity, but it seems the surgery is expensive. To earn some extra cash she gets an offer from Hayden to be the leading lady in his film, which Loretta will direct. Loretta isn't keen on the idea of her sister being a porn star. Van and Aurora are getting ready for their engagement party. The police station is visited by Wolf, who turns himself in and apparently has a lot to say. After that Judd is quickly arrested. The police caught him with an envelope full of cash, left on the seat of his car. Judd swears the money isn't his, that he found them there, but his former colleagues don't believe his words.
It's Christmas 2006. Wolf's in prison to stay, Judd's in prison and trying to get out. The family is going to Tutaekuri Bay, where they go to every year - only some things have changed. Who is that in "their" spot? Who put a gate up stopping access to "their" beach? Who will win the bet on when Pascalle will give it up? And why do they always come here in the first place?
The Wests face a new enemy, a vindictive and spiteful police detective, Monica (Judd's ex-wife). After the police raid, the house appliances are repossessed. Cheryl has no choice but to turn to Eric for help. At the Galeria she finds the new boss, none other than Falani. Eric fled because he was also harassed by Monica. Later while Cheryl and Judd are having a drink at the pub, Monica turns up. There's been a little misunderstanding, which the detective blows out of proportion and Judd is arrested again. Meanwhile Van is worried and confused, when he sees a closing down sign at the door of the Lucky Dollar. Mr. Hong reveals that he received an offer for the shop from Jethro. Loretta is mortified over the possibility of hiring Van at the Videohut, so she suggests he must fight to save the Lucky Dollar. Munter shares some light on Van's problem, when he discovers that the entire block is going to be bowled. When Van visits the council to complain, a woman gets very familiar with him. Shocked, he tells Munter, who unravels that the lady must have mistaken Van for Jethro. Now it's clear that Jethro has a mole in council and is in business with a very powerful client - Gary Savage.
Ted is banished from the Janet Frame due to his bad behavior and has to go back home. Cheryl finds out that isn't his only offense. He also has been harassing Judd in jail. Only Loretta takes her Grandpa's side, who has been banned from home by Cheryl. Hayden discovers accidentally the leading male for the film. None other than Munter, who apparently has huge potential. Loretta doubts that Munter will accept the part. When Munter finally understands why he's the object of Hayden's attention, he starts to fear for Loretta's morals. Munter is so scared that he says he'll tell everything to Cheryl. Meanwhile Aurora is working two jobs to raise enough money for the wedding. Van's part in that is saving money on drugs. So he grows dope in Ted's caravan. But that doesn't last and he has to find dope elsewhere. Surprisingly Van finds a new dealer, who happens to be Tyson, stuck in a wheel chair and his devoted assistant is Aurora.
It looks like Van and Aurora's fairy tale has hit rock bottom. Van is very jealous of Aurora being there for Tyson. Munter is trying to calm him down, but it seems useless. Cheryl is getting worried. Things aren't getting better, when Aurora's mum, Pam and her lover Mel drop in to see her and meet the future in-laws. Loretta is very frustrated, when Mel is giving her looks all the time. Van and Pam don't seem to be getting along. Pam is entirely at Tyson's side. Grandpa is feeling very chipped and the reason is that he's been spending a lot of time with hooker. Loretta isn't happy at all. Cheryl is tired of Pam's rudeness and kicks her out. She also urges Aurora to choose between Van and Tyson. The bad news aren't over for Van, who gets fired by Mr. Hong. Later he stalks Aurora, who is again at Tyson's house. That does it - Van tells the cops about Tyson.
Van is destroyed after Aurora's sudden and tragic death. He is unable to accept this and is convinced himself Aurora is actually in hiding. Meanwhile Cheryl does her best to smooth things with Pam, so the Wests could attend the funeral. But devastated Pam and Tyson are reluctant and refuse to grand Cheryl's wish. Hayden helps Van to visit Aurora at the funeral parlor. Maybe that would snap him out of his idea that Aurora is still alive. When Van sees her in the coffin, his entire world breaks down. Munter is doing everything for his best friend, but things go too far, when Van decides to bury Aurora the Viking-style. They break into the funeral home, steal a coffin, only to discover later that it's of another person, not Aurora. Cheryl is still trying to get Judd out of jail. Te lawyer is useless, she turns to Jethro, who introduces her to his partner, Gary. The Wests are planning to crash the funeral, when they discover Van is missing. After taking the wrong body, wondering alone at night, he ended up at Jethro's office. Grandpa has forsaken Van after dobbing on Tyson and unleashing the family curse. Munter and Cheryl organize a Viking tribute in the back yard for Aurora. Now Van can say good bye properly, as well as everybody else, who could be at the actual service.
While Pascalle returns home and engaged to Bruce Khan, Van is barely existing. He can't get over Aurora's departure. Meanwhile Loretta and Hayden are ready to start the shooting of their film. To disguise that deed, she claims the Videohut is under a renovation. Munter is worried why after hooking up with Kasey, she's giving the cold shoulder. Cheryl urges Kasey to confront Munter. But Kasey refuses to drag him into her Bahama Triangle and her decision involves giving up on men for good. On the movie set, Loretta as usual insists on doing things her way. Hayden is frustrated that he's not getting any action with her lately. Pascalle starts to feel conflicted about her participation in that film. Falani is hired to help with the inventory on the set and isn't happy with the production's genre. All is well, when Loretta reveals that it's erotica and not porn. Hayden is giving Pascalle only a friendly, supportive shoulder, which Bruce puts a different interpretation to. He has been very eager to consummate his relationship and when he learns that Hayden is Pascalle's ex, he gets enormously jealous. The film crew has a new member, Kasey, who designs the lingerie and has very good suggestion about some scenes. While Kasey is demonstrating with Pascalle some techniques, Munter busts in. He misunderstands the whole situation and leaves. Pascalle and Bruce have a little honest chat about their relationship and on the set of the production, Loretta has to tolerate Kasey's sobbing. She gets so annoyed that brings Kasey and Munter together.
Things at home are very bad after Pascalle determined to fumigate Van's room, discovers his obsession with Aurora's thong. According to her, Van needs to move on, so she takes it. Unfortunately, Van is well enough to know who took what and demands the thong back from Pascalle. She breaks down after a while and brings Van to a clothing bin, where he claims it back. The latest Hoochie Mama party is at Gary's. He is in high spirits after the newest success of his company. Cheryl gets from him the contact information of the very competent Des Stewart. She also receives another offer of a loan from Gary, Her meeting with Des turns out alright, when she sees hi determination to go after Monica. But Cheryl also learns about Judd's affair with a wife of a criminal, that ended Monica and Wayne's marriage. Now Cheryl has her doubts about her very own relationship with Judd. But Gary isn't happy about Jethro getting Corky clean. Corky shares his worries with his cellmate, Judd. Cheryl visits Gary, and takes up the loan offer to cover legal expenses. Jethro can't leave the matter of that cellphone message and when he confronts Gary about Corky, Savage reveals that the former solicitor has to remain in jail on Wolf's instructions. Judd walks free and reconciles with Cheryl. Van lets go of the thong but the guilt and grief don't let their grip on him.
Van isn't changing his self-pity, all day doing nothing, drunken routine and the Wests have had quite enough. Judd decides to save the day - he and Van will get jobs. But the knight in shinning armor character soon discovers that not him, nor Van got jobs. After bailing on Judd, Van spends time at the pub, where Draska appears and gets in with him. Munter tells Cheryl about the events that occurred after the couple left the pub. Munter witnessed Van and Draska's vandalism and stealing a car. The vehicle in question was parked comfortably in front of the Wests' house. Terrified, Cheryl finds out that Draska and Van are back together and if the police finds the stolen car, Judd will be behind bars immediately. Cheryl doesn't see an option but to ban Van from the house. Munter, however fears that too drastic, so he suggests to take Van to his mum's place in Coromandel. Cheryl isn't too keen considering Munter's mum's drunken and drug escapades. But Munter swears Karla has changed for the better. Frustrated Judd in the mean time, has a drink with Falani at the pub. Falani wants to hire Judd to investigate the series of stealing from the Galleria. Judd accepts and quickly captures the culprit - Grandpa. Van doesn't change his ways, but things really get worse when he spends the night with Karla and Munter is too stoned to stop them.
Cheryl is doing everything to understand what has happened between Van and Munter. She has her suspicions that Draska is to blame. But after interrogating the usually very talkative Kasey, who this time holds her tongue of the rift between her boyfriend and Van, Cheryl understands that it's all her son's fault. She tries everything to get Van to apologize to Munter, but no such luck. So Cheryl decides to ask Draska for help. But Draska will cooperate only of Cheryl gets much kinder to her. At the Rusty Nail Kasey and Draska start a girl fight defending their boyfriends' honors. Now, for sure Munter and Van are over being friends. Munter tells Cheryl that he's done with the whole West family for good. Meanwhile, Loretta is basking in her glory by being a director and that her film has been sold to an Asian distributor. All is well when she sees that her masterpiece has been dubbed. Hayden tries to explain that he was against this all along but in the end eventually agreed with the buyers. Furious Loretta returns home and to Grandpa and Pascalle's surprise she cries. Hayden is also shocked and after asking forgiveness, Loretta agrees only if he recalls all Asian copies and takes her name off. Hayden declines and they break up. Now Loretta is determined to show Hayden what revenge is all about. After series of merciless pranks that wreck Hayden's appearance, Grandpa finally steps up to point out that this behavior of Loretta will cost her Hayden forever. Loretta decides to apologize, but will she be forgiven?
Pascalle tries her best to impress Bruce's difficult sister, Linda. She banishes all men from the house and insists Cheryl, Loretta and Draska to wear head scarfs, just like Muslim women do. Only Draska cooperates Pascalle. Loretta is very ticked off with her constant meddling and the way she forces her presence in the Wests' home. Linda immediately sees Pascalle's efforts to approve of her, so she takes advantage of the upper hand and gets Pascalle, Loretta, Draska, Rochelle and Kasey to do some premarital rituals. But Cheryl quickly finds out that it's all bullshit, but decides to go along and let Pascalle go through those made up by Linda rituals. After the colonix 'ritual', Draska spills the beans to Pascalle being taken for a fool. Meanwhile Munter is working as a bartender at the Rusty Nail, when the guys come in for a drink. When Van sees Munter, leaves, but Grandpa and Judd claim their beers to be on the house. No such luck - Munter won't serve for free. The girls also come to the pub and Pascalle decides to get even with Linda by a game of strip pool. She almost manages to undress Linda completely, when Munter kicks the chicks out. The girl's night continues at another establishment, where they run into Jethro, who is having dinner with Treena. Gary is also there with some friends. Jethro enlightens him in his plan to dump Treena. But Gary doesn't agree because Treena is too valuable for the business. Linda notices Jethro and forces Pascalle to get his phone number for her. Treena feels very uncomfortable and to impress Jethro and stay on his good graces, invites Linda to join them. The night ends not only with drinks but with the trio going to bed together.
Draska gets Van a job. He is the new courier driver of the Doslics. But instead of doing the job, Van sells everything he's driving, including the vehicle to Falani. Draska doesn't understand what's happening and nicely asks Van to be more responsible. Pascalle isn't happy about the way Van is treating her bridesmaid. So she advises Draska to dump her brother. But Draska is convinced that if she is nice and does everything for Van, he'll come to love her and marry her. Pascalle faces Van and finally gets through to him. Van doesn't love Draska, won't marry her and dumps her. Meanwhile Judd's court day is very near. Things aren't easy especially with Jethro being on the other side. Hickey can't stop sniffing around the gang robbery and is getting on Jethro's nerves. A brand new problem is on the rise, when Hickey hints about the unusual disappearance of Sparky and how Judd was the last person to see him. So now after a suggestion of Grandpa on the possible whereabouts of Sparky, Cheryl and Loretta are off to find him.
Sparky is the new member of the Wests' family. At dinner when he refuses to join the others, he shares his suspicions about Loretta being pregnant. Everyone is stunned, so Cheryl will take Loretta to the doctor to clarify. Sparky lives in the basement and is creating a painting to express his gratitude to Cheryl for taking him in. Unfortunately he has no life model. So after considerable consideration, Van agrees to pose for Sparky. Finally it's being conformed, Loretta is with child. Grandpa is planning an assault on Hayden with Falani and Jethro. At first Jethro was reluctant, but after calling Hayden and informing him of Loretta's pregnancy, Hayden is very arrogant and declines to take responsibility. So it's settled - Grandpa, Jethro and Falani will pay him a visit in Brisbane. Meanwhile Cheryl is all over Loretta about keeping the baby. Van seems quite changed after some conversations about Aurora he has had with Sparky while he poses for him. Now Van is kind, sweet, back to his old self again. He spends time with Pascalle and offers Loretta all his saved cash. He is also determined to fix things with Munter too. Bruce dumps Pascalle after his trip to China, where in the hotel he stumbles upon a disgusting porn film. To his dismay Pascalle was the leading actress. Now the devastated Pascalle blames Loretta for all. Loretta has no time for this, because she notices the change in Van and it seems to her like he's preparing to leave for good. While she tries to find Van and confront him, at home she discovers Judd's guns are missing, so is her brother. Sparky tells Loretta what she already suspects Van might do and now is more determined than ever to find him.

There he encounters the prick, Aaron Spiller and his stooges. Aaron is now a towie and more than pleased to see Van. Feeling alone after everything with Munter, Van is very flattered of Aaron's attention. So after an evening of free booze, Van ends up helping Aaron to tow a car and then strip it off at a chop shop. The next day at breakfast Aaron pays a visit to the West house and pays Van for his services. When the two new mates enter the Rusty Nail, Munter gets very worried of this new friendship. He takes his concerns to Jethro, who tries to reason with Van but gets the finger. Aaron and trouble go together so well and Van is about to see that. A quarrel is on the rise between Aaron and Falani on the street over a car. But things go way too bad when Aaron kidnaps Falani and Van, who tries to help him, gets on Aaron and his stooges blacklist. All tight up to Falani, Van manages to phone Munter and leave a message of the trouble. Munter comes to the rescue together with Jethro.
Kasey has a new idea for the business - the Love Sock, only for men. But that new venture is off the table. Cheryl says so because it's not her, nor Judd's cup of tea. Kasey takes it hard and quits Hoochie Mama. Now it's up to Judd and Munter to get their women in line to reconcile. But that lead to Kasey accusing Munter to be another freeloader and Judd to defend himself in front of Cheryl he's not Wolf. Van hears about the rift and is determined to help. After everything he's been through, he came to the realization that living in harmony with the people you love is essential. Meanwhile Pascalle is off her rocker after opening a pizza delivery guy, who was Indian. That unleashed all her memories of Bruce and all she lost. So now she kicks out Grandpa from the caravan and moves in. Loretta, at first is overjoyed, but she quickly regrets it after Grandpa's crime nightmare shouting all night long. That's it, Pascalle has to return to her room. And Loretta will help her sister by taking her to the next stage, which is the rooting. The two sisters are out for a girl's night at a club. Pregnant Loretta can't drink, but the bigger problem is that Pascalle is reluctant to go to bed with anyone. The whole night gets weird, when in the end, Loretta goes to bed with some guy and Pascalle sleeps on the couch. As for Cheryl and Kasey, they reconcile thanks to Van and his live show, wearing the Love Sock.
AsneJudd's new partner, Mike dies suddenly on a surveillance job. But that's only the top of the iceberg. Judd discovers that a recent robbery, he witnessed, for which the robbers had keys for the warehouse, is actually a scam, involving the transport company and Gary. After asking Gary for some explanation, Gary terminates the security contract, blaming the insurance company. Judd has been shafted and it takes him a lot to convince Cheryl, who doesn't seem to be so alarmed. Meanwhile Van and Munter decide to help Loretta at the Videohut for minimum wage. This could turn into a career for both of them. To Loretta's surprise, the duo isn't so useless after all. She has some business to attend to and leaves their in charge. When she's back, everything functions perfectly and the customers are more than satisfied with the new guys. Van and Munter come for work the next day and they are on the way of realizing that they can only function superbly together and never apart. Jethro and Treena attend Gary's birthday party. Treena's idea of an open relationship doesn't interest Jethro any longer. Not to mention that he wanted out a long time ago. But to put the cherry on the cake is meeting with Danielle, the caterer at the party. Jethro is quite sweet on her only to find out that Danielle is Gary's ex-wife. Good and loyal Jethro turns the next day to aid Gary in some dispute and ends up with a broken leg. Helpless, Jethro is chained to the couch. His family drives him insane, especially Loretta. But all is not so bad, when Gary sends Danielle to look after Jethro. She shares that she need a lawyer to sort out some property matters with Gary. Gallantly, Jethro offers his services and comes through. The very grateful Danielle expresses her appreciation. Gary is pissed off and asks Jethro of the identity of the lawyer, who screwed him. Jethro denies any part.
While Cheryl is planning to repay her loan to Gary by taking a mortgage on the house, she discovers it can't be done without Wolf's signature. Jethro is furious, when it comes out that his mother never read the contract she signed to Gary. He tries to get her out, but Gary is reluctant because he suspects Jethro helped Danielle. Cheryl finds out that Wolf is no longer in jail. On top of that Kasey messed up big time - she didn't read some contracts and Hoochie Mama ends up with an entire container of leopard skin velour, which needs to be paid for. Jethro reveals to Cheryl the connection between Gary and Wolf. Gary explains and says that he's ready to become a partner in Hoochie Mama, instead of executing the mortgage and take the Wests' house. Meanwhile Jethro is facing some difficulties to woo Danielle and Loretta has to perform some traditional Irish dances for Mrs. Haggerty, her former teacher. Loretta wants to open a second Videohut and the perfect place is the dance studio of Mrs. Haggerty.
At the Rusty Nail, Van and Munter proudly present their new business - The Tool Guys, a 24 hour on-call handy service, doing handy things. They even have T-shirts and ads. But their enthusiasm is soon crushed after everyone they care about don't support them. Only Kasey believe in their success. Meanwhile Pascalle brings home jigsaw puzzle and a necklace, left to her by an old lady, who passed away. Pascalle is determined to complete the puzzle, because according to the old lady it contained the meaning of life. Loretta and Cheryl find this quite dull but not Grandpa and Judd. When the first job for the Tool Guys is on the rise, it turns out that a very attractive woman wants Van do service her. Munter is hurt, because she doesn't pick him. However the Tool Guys soon realize that their ad isn't that explanatory on their actual purpose. They want to fix problems in other people's homes, not their owners. While Van is collecting more and more calls, Munter stays on the side lines because he has a girlfriend. Things are about to explode, when Van finds out that Munter did accept a job and accidentally drops in front of Kasey she might lose Munter to another woman. The enraged Kasey is on her way to meet that so-called-woman, who has the hots for her man. Munter was about to be caught by Kasey, if it wasn't for Van, who arrived earlier and warned him. The whole escapade turned into a touching scene, when Munter proposed to Kasey in the client's bathroom, only moments after he rooted that same client.
Jethro and Danielle's relationship isn't a secret anymore, at least not to Gary. Jethro discovers that Gary is quite persistent to collect Cheryl's debt. An opportunity comes along, when Vern hires Jethro to suppress the publication of a book, written by his ex-wife Sonya. It seems the book is a very graphic memoirs of the wild times in a commune called Isengard. Jethro finds out that Vern was married, no only to Sonya, but to 4 other women at the same time and they all lived in the commune. Sonya is also Rochelle's mother, but Rochelle isn't Vern's daughter. Rochelle merely lost her virginity to Vern. Jethro sees a way to get Cheryl out of the shambles, when he succeeds to persuade Vern to give the vacant property that was Isengard to his ex-wives. The former wives, on the other hand sell the property to Jethro, who then sells it to Gary. Cheryl is off the hook. Meanwhile at a remembrance of Ted's old associate Lefty Munroe, Grandpa finds out who ratted the gang out all those years ago. Lefty's widow, Ngaire, who looks at everyone down and especially at Cheryl, unravels that the rat was none other than Ted's dead wife - Rita. Her motives were to fill up her crime-wife retirement fund. Listening very carefully to Ngaire's story, Cheryl and Loretta, who are desperate for cash decide to recover the supposed fund, which according to them is buried in the back yard of the Wests' former home. Jethro and Gary are celebrating the good business deal. Gary seems fine with the relationship of Jethro and his ex. But all becomes very different the next morning when Jethro wakes up with a huge hangover and sees Treena, assaulted, half-dressed and leaving in a hurry and fear.
Jethro is doing his best to recall all the events from the previous evening. He is trying to keep Danielle out of the way, because he came to realize how he feels about her. Gary isn't much help, although he gives his assurance and support. Treena, who feels the ultimate victim and threatens to press charges against Jethro, smashes up he front window of his car, in front of the Tool Guys, who are hired to fix a bathroom towel rail. After all that hangs on his head, Jethro ends up spending some quality time with Van and shares all his problems over smoking pod. Van, always ready to be helpful, doubts that Jethro did anything to Treena, so he decides that with Munter's help the Tool Guys will investigate. Meanwhile Pascalle gets in a lot of trouble over the video material and constant attention of an elderly resident, Mr. Purvis. The manager of the old folks' home accuses Pascalle of being too friendly and even flirty with the old men there. Loretta believes that the manager fancies Pascalle and is jealous. Mr. Purvis, who sees Pascalle has become sad, decides it's up to him to defend her and assaults the manager. That seals Mr. Purvis' fate - he will leave and Pascalle's classes will be canceled. Van and Munter's surveillance throw light in Jethro's problems. Suddenly, Treena calls to say she won't file charges, Gary says that Cheryl's debt is cleared and that he now has a piece of Hoochie Mama. Jethro connects the dots and realizes everything was Gary's plan all along.
Gary becomes the center of the attention after Cheryl has let him in the Hoochie Mama business. Kasey is very friendly with him and that leads Van to the conclusion she has the hots for him. Judd, who is sitting on the side lines isn't happy either. Gary wants his accountant Tanya to take over the Hoochie Mama books. Cheryl puts up a fight and declines. She suspects Gary wants to use the business for money laundry. Kasey lets in Cheryl that Gary is interested in arranging some non-existing Hoochie Mama parties. When Cheryl confronts him and accuses him in money laundry, he calmly explains that it's merely taxes he wishes to avoid. Judd finally hears the whole story from Cheryl and is quite appalled how understanding she is of this scheme. Meanwhile Van shares with Pascalle his suspicions about Kasey being hot for Gary. Pascale, who seems interested in Gary herself refuses to believe that Gary is hot for Kasey though. So she nobly takes it upon herself to hit on him. Pascalle suggests to Van to buy an engagement ring for Kasey on Munter's behalf. Kasey misconstructs Van's intentions as a way to get a root. But Van quickly put her mind at ease. Kasey is sad, in spite of the ring. She and Munter want have the money to have the dream wedding. Cheryl comes to the rescue as she offers her back lawn. Judd and Grandpa are hired by some guy to investigate his wife, who probably is having an affair. To Grandpa's surprise the woman turns out to be Bev. She wasn't having an affair, but now she is, with Grandpa. Judd is shocked during a stake out, when he sees the lover is Grandpa. Later at Kasey and Munter's engagement party, Judd and Cheryl have a little tiff because of Gary. All that leads to Judd moving out.
Van has some problems at his job. He built a fence for Lawrence, an antique dealer. Lawrence refuses to pay for the job, only for the materials, because Van didn't do it right - the fence isn't straight. Van insists on payment, even takes his case with Jethro. But his twin tells him the law can't rule in his favor. So Van gets Falani to rob Lawrence's house and hen to split the profits. While the robbery goes on, Van and Munter are at the pub to build an alibi. Falani comes with only 50 bucks and crushes Van and Munter's expectations for 'a sack full of cash'. Meanwhile Grandpa doesn't know what to do with his new flame Bev, who turned out to be a former cop. Judd advises him to be honest. So finally Grandpa shares with Bev his past. Surprisingly Bev was aware all along who Ted West is. She invites him on a trip to Paris after her divorce is official. Grandpa would love to go but things at home keep him far too occupied - Loretta is expecting, Judd and Cheryl have grown apart and that bloody Gary Savage is everywhere. Loretta gets the services of a social worker, named Fran, who has agreed to help her in finding a family to adopt the baby after Loretta gives birth. To make her story more sympathetic and to speed up the process, Loretta told her sad life story of abuse and rape. Cheryl, however is so excited about the child. She wants Loretta to keep it and she even moved Van out of his room to the basement, so the room would be a nursery. Stubborn Loretta hates it when people contradict her. She insists the baby would be adopted after come into the world. Shockingly, at her gynecology appointment, she gets to see the fetus for the first time and feelings, unknown to her emerge.
Van and Jethro join forces to solve the problems at home. Van has to stop Pascalle from working at a bar called Nunga's and to convince Loretta not to give up the baby for adoption. Jethro, on the other hand has to unravel the mystery around Gary Savage. Luckily he has Judd and Grandpa on his side. Judd took a peek in Gary's past and found out that his last partner - Leon Shuker has vanished. According to Ted Shuker was murdered. The PIs pay a visit to Shuker's father, who shares Grandpa's view. But he doesn't believe Gary to have done it. He actually is fond of Gary. According to the father the culprit is Franklin Cork. When Jethro visits Corky in prison and asks about Gary, Corky gets very nervous and mentions Wolf. Now Jethro, Judd and Grandpa believe that Wolf has all the answers. They embark on a mission to find Wolf, after Falani tells them Wolf is in Whakatane. Meanwhile at the Nunga's Van sees Aaron Spiller giving Pascalle money. He comes to the conclusion she must have become a hooker. At home Van does his very best to get through to Loretta and finally some of his words sink in. There Van finds Gary, who has been helpful lately and in cahoots with Cheryl. Pascalle comes home covered in dirt and angry. She has dumped Aaron and gave back the money. Van is overjoyed - both his sisters did what he wanted. Suddenly Aaron Spiller arrives angry at Van. Aaron believes Van stole his tow truck, but he didn't. Neither did Pascalle. A phone call clears it all - Munter did it and he is behind bars.
Jethro, Judd and Grandpa return from Whatakane disappointed. Wolf didn't spill any dirt on Gary. But he told Jethro he's keeping his mouth shut to spare Grandpa pain. Jethro is puzzled. Van does everything to get Munter out of the can because it's his wedding day. Van also has the great task of keeping Kasey unaware of Munter's troubles. Cheryl does everything to reason with Loretta regarding the baby and thus she imprisons her in her room with Pascalle as the jailer. Gary, who hangs around Cheryl far too much finally unravels the whole mystery around his whole persona. He is Rita's illegitimate son and Wolf's half brother. He doesn't say the name of his father. Meanwhile Pascalle is too pleased as Loretta searches ways of escaping. Loretta helps Pascalle with her MySpace profile. Pascalle receives a lot of virtual attention, especially from some guy - Travis, who claims to be from the Sunset Cable Channel. Loretta doesn't believe in this. On the bid day, Van manages to convince Aaron to drop the charges against the groom, Munter on account that the tow truck wasn't stolen, that Munter was legitimately diving it. Aaron agrees only if he's at the wedding and has Pascalle on his arm. Done deal. But Van still can't get Munter out, because Hickey stand on the way. So Judd comes to the rescue and Munter is out. Kasey, who is the most nervous bride thinks Munter won't show up at the church. Luckily Judd, Grandpa and Van manage to deliver the groom at the last moment. For the ceremony two uninvited guests appear - Wolf with his new girlfriend Sheree. During the whole departure for the church, Loretta stays behind and now is ready to make her escape, when her waters break and she's in labor.
