Everyone has their own relationship to intimacy. Vicki and Marco don't have much left at all, Thomas confides in the guy from Bell, Luke traumatizes Mia with his past and Lydia displays herself for anyone and everyone to see.

It's the intention that counts. Vicki shows her daughter how to resolve conflicts, Mia and Luke realize they (almost) never fight, Lydia wants to impress her friends at any cost and Virgil tries to protect Thomas from himself.
