The Private Eyes now face an ethical dilemma in that they are working for the prosecution, and by pursuing the evidence, they may have to explore the "grey areas' of investigations. Angie also faces a former investigator employed by her father, and individual her father fired for "taking shortcuts" and questionable methods. Matt's father provides support and advice while dealing with a developing business and possibly personal relationship. As the jury deliberates, time becomes critical to both the investigators, and the accused.

Meanwhile detective Kurtis Mazhari's attempt to avoid the blood donation lover Zoe insists on by faking mad cow disease gets out of their control.
