10 unsigned UK music artists travel to Manchester to try to convince the judges they have what it takes to become a music icon. Each is asked for an impromptu performance of an original song and their mastery of social media is tested.

The artists are thrown into the important world of collaboration, singing two of Becky Hill's biggest hits in two groups on one of the UK's biggest stages at the 02 Arena in London. But two hopefuls will be eliminated.

The halfway point in the competition is approaching. The artists head to the studio, where they are paired up and challenged to rework their partner's signature tracks with some of the music industry's leading producers.
