S1.E1 ∙ The Job
In 2007 artist Sarah Maple is presented with a prestigious award by Will Gompertz. Back in the present day, Sarah now works in a sex shop in Crawley. She receives a text from her manager that she has an exhibition to prepare for in just 6 weeks time.
S1.E2 ∙ The Manager
As Sarah leaves her house, she finds her Mum washing her car for her. She tries to convince her to make more sell-able art. We meet Sarah's manager Bruce Bechdel, a name dropping mover and shaker from the art elite. But why does he look like he's 12?
S1.E3 ∙ The Picture
Sarah meets David Tennant at Soho House Crawley. She tries to convince him to let her show an artwork of hers that he owns. He refuses and an argument ensues. Bruce negotiates a surprising solution.
S1.E4 ∙ My Plant
Sarah is chastised by sex shop manager Jen as her work is beginning to slide. They are interrupted by an article on Nikki Bedi's show 'Up The Arts'. Has Sonia Boyce stolen her idea for a conceptual art piece?
S1.E5 ∙ An Oak Tree?
Bruce arranges for Sarah to appear on the biggest arts program in the country 'Up The Arts' with Nikki Bedi. In her enthusiasm to impress, Sarah makes a catastrophic blunder. Nikki is unforgiving and refuses to accept her 'sitcom' is an art work.

The opening at Jealous Gallery has arrived and Bruce is having a badly timed mid-life crisis. Sarah performs in the window but is continually interrupted by the on-goings outside. She shares an emotional moment with her Mum.
