A new group of students are now making their way through the halls of Bayside High School. Mr. Belding is still the principal, and Screech is now his assistant.

A new student, named Scott Erickson, transfers from Valley to Bayside and decides that the route to popularity is to make fellow student, Lindsay Warner, his girlfriend. To get Lindsay away from her macho, but dumb, football boyfriend, Tommy De Luca, Scott gets the Bayside geek, Barton "Weasel" Wyzell, to fix a dance raffle for profit, and for a date with Lindsay, in exchange for Weasel to go on a date with rich girl Megan Jones, and sets up Tommy with the politically correct Vicki Needleman, who actually has a crush on Scott.
During the planning for the big Homecoming football game, Scott dresses up as his identical cousin "Tina" to crash Lindsay and the rest of the girls slumber party to find if Lindsay really loves him. But things take a turn when Baysides star football player, Crunch, meets and develops a crush on "Tina" and won't play unless Tina is around.
Weasel is promoted from the football team water boy to kicker after displaying his kicking skills. But Weasel will only kick a football when he is angry and Scott has to ensure that Weasel stay angry to win an important game. Meanwhile, Scott fixes Megan, Lindsay and Vicki's battle for a single varsity cheer leading spot by letting Lindsay win so he can get Tommy D to help him make and sell advertisement T-shirts for Weasel.
Scott teams with Megan, Lindsey, Vicki, and the rest of gang to sell a "memory enhanced drug" before history mid-terms on their Bayside Shopping Network cable access show, with a little help from James the actor who role-plays as a customer as well as a maintenance man to Mr. Belding, and later as a college professor to help the kids face-off against their stern history teacher Mr. Hammersmith.
Scott joins the Bayside radio station in order to get into "Babe Study Hall," with Weasel who creates the romance advice master "Dr. Love," who gives out advice on peoples dating problems, which include Lindsay and Tommy D as well as Vicki who has a crush on Scott, much to his chagrin.
At Scott's advice, gang decides to hold a play on the American Revolution in an "MTV version" with Mr. Belding as the director and Scott wanting Lindsay to play Martha Washington next to his George, while Weasel is to play Ben Franklin, much to Megan's chagrin who's playing Betsy Ross. But a jealous Tommy D and Vicki have ideas to get parts in the play to be near Lindsay and Scott.
During Homecoming week, the Bayside class president, Chad Westerfield, as well as Lindsay are the nominees for Homecoming King and Queen, and Megan hopes that Chad will ask her out to the Homecoming dance. But it turns out that Chad likes Lindsey more than Megan. Meanwhile, Scott conspires to make Tommy, the Homecoming King, to help him and Lindsey be together after her mother forbids her from dating Tommy again.
Scott volunteers himself and Weasel to babysit Mr. Belding's infant son Zack, (named after Zack Morris, who helped deliver him in the previous 'Saved By The Bell' series) to stay out of detention; later he volunteers the child for baby modeling to impress Ashley, a new girl from Pacific Coast High.
During Career Week, Megan's father, Judge Thurston Jones, wants her to leave Bayside and enroll in a private school called Willowbrook Academy. At first, the gang is happy for Megan, but when their true feelings come out, Scott and the gang scheme to ensure Megan stays at Bayside.
Weasel discovers that he owns a valuable comic book with a rare misprint worth hundreds of dollars. But Scott must embark on a mission to recover it after Tommy inadvertently sells it in order for Scott to get money to buy concert tickets for a date with the new student Rachel Meyers. Meanwhile, Lindsay, Megan and Vicki try to recover a bottle of fish oil that Mr. Belding bought from them thinking that it's perfume before he gives it to Mrs. Belding.
Weasel's pen pal, Natalie, comes to Bayside and joins the school band as the new pianist next to Weasel's saxophonist. But after the girls make over the geek Natalie into their own image as an attractive girl, Weasel is dumbstruck. So, Scott and Tommy try to make over Weasel in their own image to ensue he plays after they themselves join the Bayside band in hopes to win a trip to New York.
Tommy D is soon to be the first of the gang to get his driver's license, exciting the others. But when his father tells him he can't get his license unless he gets an A on at least one mid-year final, the rest of the gang help him study.
The gang takes over the Max to run it for a class project and almost drives it into the ground, until Scott takes over the project, much to Vicki's happiness, and soon helps bring in business. When the Bayside football coach asks to hold a team banquet at the Max, Scott becomes bossy and drives the whole gang crazy with his demanding orders.
On the first day of the new school year at Bayside, Screech Powers returns as Mr. Belding's administrative assistant for a project he has with CU, and he quickly drives Mr. Belding up the wall with his bumbling ways while Mr. Belding has problems with his new office, complete with high-tech gadgets. Meanwhile, Brian Keller, a new transfer student from Switzerland, peruses Rachel Meyers, who accidentally ruins her mother's $700 suit jacket meaning the gang must come up with a plan to pay for a new jacket, so they plan to throw a party at Bobby Wilson's house, the new geek at Bayside. But when their plans fall through, Brian deceives Screech into throwing the party in the school gym.
Mr. Belding and Screech get jobs as summer managers at the Palisade Hills Country Club owned by Ed Harrington, an old friend of Mr. Belding. Screech makes the mistake of hiring the entire gang as club staff who immediately get into trouble when they dent Harrington's car. Meanwhile, Harrington's attractive daughter, Alison, falls for Screech. When a freezer containing food breaks down before a Western-themed barbecue, the gang saves Mr. Belding from being fired by throwing a luau themed party instead.
The Palisade Hills Country Club arc, the Bayside students enter into a sporting competition versus guests at the country club; meanwhile Screech continues to cultivate his romance with Alison.
Megan's running the school blood drive this year, but no one shows up to donate any blood, and Screech falls for the blood drive nurse Penny Brady. Meanwhile, the gang must find a chaperon for their hiking trip and Brian thinks that Screech will do. So, Brian schemes for Nurse Brady to go out on a date with Screech in hopes that he will go on the camping trip, while Mr. Belding tries to get in shape after learning of his high cholesterol level in his blood.
The gang is competing for best booth at the annual Bayside Carnival. Brian and Rachel decide to hold a dunk booth while Lindsay and Tommy have conflicting emotions about running a kissing booth. Meanwhile, Bobby is threatened by a bully, named Kirk, who wants Megan. So, Bobby gets karate lessons from Screech.
At the Palisade Hills Country Club, Brian becomes frustrated at Rachel's pining for her boyfriend. So, with Screech's help, Bobby decides to try to make Rachel jealous by hanging out with an attractive tennis instructor. But Brian doesn't expect the instructor to fall for him. Meanwhile, the gang competes in a July 4th "tipathon," a contest where the person with the most tips will double his or her earnings.
When the faculty advisor for the school paper quits, Screech lobbies for the job and gets it, so he drafts the gang to do the paper with him and they come across a hot story involving the football coach giving more financial funds for the football team than the girls swim team. But another issue soon arrives: is the writing paper more important than the gang's performance on the PSAT's?
Rachel's college boyfriend, David, unexpectedly arrives at Palisade Hills for her birthday party which means she must make a choice to which one she wants to be with: him or Brian. Meanwhile, Screech decides to make a promotional video for the Country Club.
During prank week, the girls and boys plot pranks to get back at each other. But they may have taken their pranks too far when one of them threatens to get Mr. Belding fired.
When the Palisades Country Club holds it's annual Charity Auction and Picnic, the male staff get auctioned to various women bidders to compete in various events, and the winner gets a hot air balloon ride. Screech gets jealous when Alison "buys" Brian, Megan gets stuck with Bobby, and Rachel ends up buying a nerd. Screech becomes jealous when Alison is teamed with Brian, while Tommy D tries to avoid winning the contest with Lindsay because he is afraid of heights. So, Tommy tries rigging all of Bobby's events, but as usual, everything turns out the wrong way for Tommy.
Bobby tries to get new members to join Baysides Glee Club, but doesn't have much success until the girls see the new hunk music teacher and all compete to win his affections. Meanwhile, Brian decides to join the Glee Club to be near Rachel, but he has no talent in singing so he asks Tommy, who turns out to have a great singing voice, to lip syn-ch for him, while Mr. Belding tries to prevent budget cuts from ending the Glee Club's run.
Palisade Hills holds it's annual Christmas In July party, and Screech is worried about what to give Alison in a gift exchange. Bobby is worried about what to get Mr. Harrington, and Tommy worries about his present for Mr. Belding. Meanwhile, Megan protests the swimsuit portion of the Miss Snow Queen pageant.
While Tommy, Lindsey, Bobby, Brian and the rest of the school get into spirit for Bayside's annual football game with Valley High, tensions are high when Megan begins dating a new guy, named Doug Parker, whom is the captain of Valley's football team. As a result of this 'Romeo and Juliet-type' romance, the whole gang joins forces to try to break them up, as well as try to steal Doug's football play book so Bayside's team can win.
The summer at Palisade Hills Country Club is over and it's time for the farewell formal dance. Rachel is sad to go, Megan doesn't have a date, Bobby want's a date so bad with a rich club member that he is willing to lie about being wealthy to get her. Meanwhile, Screech agonizes over Alison's acceptance to Gilliards School of Music in New York City and they must bid each other a proper farewell.
In this episode that tackles the sensitive subject of anorexia nervosa, Lindsey becomes obsessed with losing weight in preparation when a local TV show, called "Club Jam" which will hold a dance contest at Bayside. Brian asks Rachel to be his dancing partner, while Bobby and Brian trick Megan's partner, Kent, to drop her so Bobby can go with Megan. But Bobby secretly reveals to Megan that he doesn't know how to dance.
Mr. Belding treats the gang to a week-long trip to Gold Canyon Ranch, a dude ranch owned by Screech's Uncle Lester and his bullying son Clint. While Mr. Belding and Uncle Lester are away, the gang gets into trouble in the hills looking for gold.
While Uncle Lester and Clint are away, Screech is put in charge of the dude ranch which leads to a quarrel between him and Mr. Belding over planing a square dance. Meanwhile, the gang looks to play poker with two strangers, named Bo and Travis, who appear to be easy marks. But who actually are a couple of clever con men, in which one of whom woos Megan to learn the gang's poker plans.
Lindsay can't afford to get Tommy a birthday gift, so Brian and Bobby help her out by hijacking the school video project so she can do a video about Tommy. But their plan hits a snag when Brian's younger sister, Katie, and Tommy fall for each other, causing Lindsay and Tommy to break up for good.
Mr. Belding and Screech are preparing a time capsule for the Class of 2020 and interview Megan, Bobby, Tommy, Lindsay, Brian and Rachel about their memories of Bayside.
During a break in the school year, Mr. Belding takes Screech, the gang and some of the school members on a week-long school sponsored ski trip, but problems ensue with Brian's lack of attention to Rachel and Lindsay's attraction to a college boy named Chris, which prompt the girls to go to a frat party where Lindsay and Tommy have too much to drink and the results are Lindsay getting sick and Tommy breaking his leg after getting into an accident.
On the last day at the ski lodge, everything is perfect until Tommy (still incapacitated by his broken leg) and Megan to go out on a date, sparking hard feelings with Lindsay, Bobby, Rachel and even the neutral Brian who gets caught in the middle. Meanwhile, Screech doesn't know what he's getting himself into when he agrees to model for a thoughtless ski designer named Ramon-Ramon.
Rachel learns that she won't be able to go to Bayside's Annual Dance Ball unless she gets a 'C' in a history midterm, which leaves Brian in a dilemma when he sees a copy of the midterm and is tempted to give the answers to her, but it leaves Megan suspicious to how Rachel passed the test 100% which leaves Brian guilt-ridden. Meanwhile, Screech enlists the help of Bobby, Tommy, and Lindsay to help him impress Mr. Belding who must write an evaluation of Screech's work at Bayside for CU.
Tommy D takes a job as an auto mechanic and enjoys his job so much that it interferes with his school work. So he decides to drop out which disappoints his father, Mr. Belding, and the gang. So, Screech decides to step in to make Tommy realizes how difficult it is living on his own.
On Bayside's 40th anniversary, Rachel is running for Prom Queen and Bobby is running for Prom King. But everyone's plans are soon sidetracked when a wealthy industrialist and former alumni from Bayside, named Mr. McMillian, arrives when he decides to buy the school from the school board with the intention to demolish Bayside, meaning that the gang will be broken up and sent to other schools... including the hated Valley High.
Screech is supposed to mail Mr. Belding's application to join a well-known community of principals. But when Screech misses the deadline, he convinces Mr. Belding that he's been accepted to the society anyway: a scheme involving James the actor. Meanwhile, the gang tries to buy the Max's one millionth burger to win tickets for the MTV music awards.
After finding out that McMillian had one girlfriend when he himself was a student at Bayside in 1959, Mr. Belding, Screech and the gang attempt to track her down in hopes that she will talk him out of demolishing Bayside. At Bayside's 1950's nostalgic prom, news of Bayside's immediate demise draws some of Bayside best known alumni, Zack, Lisa and even A.C. Slater, to help the new gang save the school.
At the opening day of the new school year at Bayside, a flood of new transfer students from Valley comes to Bayside. They include prankster Ryan Parker, fame-seeking R.J. Collins, and Valley cheerleader Maria Lopez who are immediately at odds with Lindsey, Rachel and Tommy. Seeking popularity, Ryan schemes to make Maria the head cheerleader, R.J. the DJ for Bayside's radio and even asks Lindsey to the Welcome Back Dance while Tommy is trying to get back with her. But their feud threatens to engulf the whole school. Meanwhile, Mr. Belding asks Screech to hide cookies from him while he is on a diet.
Both Tommy and Ryan bug Lindsey's slumber party using a $1,000 communication set, that Screech bought, to find out which one of them she likes the best to go out with him to a rock concert. When Screech breaks the set, Lindsey discovers the microphone and decides to set up whoever planted the bug, while Screech tries to find a way to tell Mr. Belding about the set breaking.
Screech is assigned to teach drivers ed for the school. When Maria fails the class, she convinces a reluctant Screech to pass her so she can get a car for her 16th birthday. Meanwhile, Ryan, R.J. and Rachel plan to buy a car for themselves by scamming money from the school band, geeks and football hunks. They then must use the car they bought for the groups they scammed after Maria dents Mr. Belding's car while driving hers.
Rachel reluctantly agrees to tutor Bayside's football star in history and soon discovers that he is suffering from dyslexia, which enables him not to see letters clearly. Meanwhile, Lindsey and Maria compete all-out with each other to be elected Homecoming Queen, while Screech loses the homecoming crown.
During a weekend at the Palisade Hills mall, Ryan schemes to win Lindsey's affections by teaming with R.J. in a get-rich-quick scheme to sell students custom-made "Air Screech" athletic shoes from the sporting goods store where Mr. Belding and Screech work. The sneakers are a big hit, until Mr. Belding finds out and puts his foot down.
The gang goes for a week-long study program at California University where Ryan helps Screech become reacquainted with his old fraternity Sigma Alpha in order to make Screech feel better after his former frat mates don't seem to care about him. Meanwhile, Rachel and Maria find themselves being wooed by the same guy from the fraternity, and Tommy ends up getting hypnotized after attending a psychics class.
During a three-day weekend at the mall, Maria meets and befriends Justin Wells, a teenage film star who asks her to keep his identity a secret so he can have a normal weekend for himself. Meanwhile, Screech gets various jobs around the mall to get money to pay for a new bicycle after the prized one disappears from the sporting goods shop.
Not everyone is having a ball in Screech's school production of "Cinderella," because Lindsay becomes jealous when her Prince Charming, Ryan, lands the lead opposite Rachel. Meanwhile, Screech and Mr. Belding quarrel over how to direct the play.
Rachel is date-raped at California University and makes up her mind what to do about it.
The gang assembles a news magazine program for Baysides new cable-TV station. But after a disastrous start, Ryan and the gang fake several events to boost the ratings. Meanwhile, a phony Hollywood talent agent comes to the school to sign up R.J. for a chance in show business.
Ryan goes out on a date with Lindsey when he should be at home studying for an important physics test. So, he tricks Screech into having a fire drill so he can avoid taking the test. But Screech turns on the sprinkler system which ruins the homecoming float the gang builds. When the gang and Mr. Belding find out that Ryan was responsible for the disaster, they all join forces to get back at him in a very cruel way.
The Bayside Junior Prom arrives and Mr. Belding puts Screech in charge to reduce budget costs. Lindsey is asked to the prom by both Tommy and Ryan. So she must make a choice that will affect both of them. Meanwhile, R.J. asks the attractive Valerie to the prom, but her wary big brother warns R.J. not to touch her, and Rachel is depressed that no guy has asked her to the prom.
After Tommy D falls for Nicole, a highly refined new classmate who is the new ballerina of Baysides ballet club, Ryan tutors him on the finer points of cultural comportment in hopes that Tommy romancing Nicole will lead to her wealthy father getting him, R.J. and Maria tickets for a MTV rock concert. Meanwhile, Screech mistakenly thinks Mr. Belding is dying after overhearing his phone conversation about increasing the amount of his life insurance policy.
An ankle injury during gymnastics practice on the uneven bars sidelines Lindsay and leaves her fearful to compete with the other girls. Meanwhile, Tommy becomes the water boy of the team after losing a bet with Rachel, and Ryan tries to make more people come to the gymnastics meet to keep it from going under by fabricating a story about Michael Jordan will be attending the gymnastics event at Bayside.
Ryan secretly works behind everyone to get Tommy selected as principal during Student Teacher Week so that the gang can slack off by turning the school gym into a Bed and Breakfast for foreign tourists. Meanwhile, Rachel becomes the music teacher and has problems with the class slacking off than practicing for an important music concert.
Screech tries his luck at winning the lottery and the combination of his birthday and Mr. Belding's looks like that he won $2 million. Screech then lets the thought of wealth go to his head while the gang plans to uses his money to rent out the gym as an exercise place to make more money for themselves.
At the Palisdes Mall, Rachel feels like she's the odd girl out when Lindsay starts getting real chummy with Maria. Meanwhile, Ryan gets a job at Mr. Belding and Screech's candy store so he can enter a shopping spree contest the mall is giving.
The gang goes to Screech's grandfather Eddie Powers Sleepy Mountain Ski Lodge for the Christmas holiday. With business slow and no snow on the ground, the gang becomes his volunteer staff, while Ryan plans to keep the guests there at any cost. Meanwhile, Lindsey's attraction to the young kitchen chef, Greg, cause her and Ryan to break up for good.
Screech is feeling that he's not important until he has a dream about the future that shows how important he really is at Bayside.
Mr. Belding, Screech and the gang set sail for two months of ocean-going course work at sea on the S.S. Morning Star for the summer, where the gang proceeds to go overboard with slacking off than go to biology class. Meanwhile, R.J. meets Carla, a disabled girl in a wheelchair whom he regrets about asking her to the ship's dance.
On the S.S. Morning Star, the gang bets they can make enough money to buy Mr. Belding a birthday present, if they score some fake ID's to get them into the ship casino. But when they do get in, greed takes over when Ryan loses all of the gang's money and he must think of something before Belding and the rest of the gang find out.
On the last week on the S.S. Morning Star, Screech gets depressed after receiving a break-up letter from his girlfriend, Alison. The gang tries to cheer up Screech by setting him up with a beautiful German model, who turns out to be a gold digger plotting to marry him in order to get her Green Card.
At the Palisades Mall, Lindsay takes up smoking, while Tommy tries to quit his own habit. When Ryan tries to warn Lindsay of the dangers of smoking cigarettes, she thinks he's just blowing smoke. Meanwhile, Screech tries to boost business for the candy store during Mall Mania weekend by selling trick candy which Mr. Belding disapproves.
At the Sleepy Mountain Ski Lodge, Ryan has spent the whole week in his room brooding over his breakup with Lindsey who dumped him for the hotel chef Greg. However, Ryan tries to get back at Lindsey by trying to make her jealous when he brings another girl to show off to her. But the plan misfires with the rest of the gang caught in the middle while they are preparing to throw a birthday party for R.J. on the 21st. Meanwhile, Screech and Mr. Belding go on a overnight camping trip in the woods to be accepted into Eddie's Spotted Owl Men's Club.
On Christmas Eve, Screech tries to prevent Mr. Belding from leaving the ski lodge after he invites Mrs. Belding to meet him for a surprise visit. Meanwhile, Tommy tries to help the new employee, Robin, by making her the head waitress so she can get all the tips to help her needy family.
Screech is having trouble coming up with a New Year's resolution so the gang tries to help him out by sharing their own New Year's resolutions as told through a series of flashbacks from episodes of the past season.
The arrival of Ryan's new stepbrother, Nicky, brings out jealousy in Ryan as he helps the girls raise money for new soccer uniforms. Meanwhile, Screech secretly runs a balloon business out of Bayside.
At the mall, Rachel's sexist boss unfairly promotes Nicky over her while Mr. Belding and Screech run a yogurt store and Katie works for a beauty shop that gives Maria a bad hairdo.
When Nicky wins a dance contest and two tickets to the MTV Music Awards, the gang pressure him to pick one of them to take with him. Meanwhile, Screech pretends to own Yukon Yogurt to impress a girl.
The gang pair up to take care of baby simulator dolls for a health class project, but the stress of the project threatens to tear apart their personal lives and put their friendship in jeopardy.
When Bayside holds a Sadie Hawkins dance, Ryan and Rachel feel insecure about their height difference while Nicky pushes Katie to ask him and Eric pretends to like coin collecting to attract a girl. Meanwhile, Mr. Belding needs glasses.
Eric makes the winning touchdown in the Valley football game and lets the resulting fame go to his head. Meanwhile, Nicky is jealous that Katie's old boyfriend is coming to town so he joins the cheerleader squad to spend more time with her.
When Ryan, Maria, and Eric are appointed justices for student court, Ryan must make a tough decision when Nicky and Katie try to take advantage of their friendship to get out of punishment for gambling in school.
Katie fears telling anyone she can't afford to buy a new dress for the fall formal while Ryan schemes to get Eric and his brothers hired as musical performers. Meanwhile, Mr. Belding's air conditioner doesn't work.
Ryan goes on a drastic weight loss regimen to make weight for the varsity wrestling team, but feels guilty when Nicky throws the match during tryouts. Meanwhile, Maria exploits shirtless jocks to create a fundraising calendar.
When Ryan, Nicky, and Eric cheat on a home economics midterm, Screech believes they are good cooks and enlist them to bake a cake for a party honoring Mr. Belding. Meanwhile, Maria is used by a boy she likes.
While planning for an upcoming Renaissance Faire, Rachel is assigned to work with another guy, making Ryan so jealous that his actions threaten the event. Meanwhile, Maria and Katie disagree over their puppet show.
When Nicky and Maria work together at the school radio station, they begin to develop feelings for each other, putting their friendship with Katie in jeopardy.
At the hospital, Eric bonds with a patient who used to be a performer, but must deal with his grief when his new friend dies. Meanwhile, Rachel and Maria try to set Katie up while Screech is injured by Mr. Belding.
When the gang volunteer at the Palisades Hospital, Rachel works in the gift shop because of a phobia of hospitals. But when Ryan develops appendicitis and needs surgery, she must overcome her phobia to support her boyfriend.
When a tabloid television show interviews the gang doing their jobs at the mall, the show edits the segment to make them look incompetent and may lead to the gang losing their jobs and Yukon Yogurt going out of business.
Nicky feels emasculated when he finds out Maria is better at karate than him, leading Nicky to pressure Maria not to enter a karate tournament. Meanwhile, Screech thinks someone stole Mr. Belding's laptop.
At the mall, Rachel wants to sing in the gang's band, but they have trouble telling her she can't sing. Meanwhile, Mr. Belding and Screech get the word out to vote but Screech is discouraged by the lack of response to their efforts.
Rachel needs some extra-curricular credits on her record, so she decides to run for student council president. The Drama Club is rehearsing a production of Bye Bye Birdie, but Mr. Belding informs them it must be canceled since the budget committee has cut the club's funding.
The gang travel to Space Camp for a class project and Nicky excels during training. But when the gang choose Ryan as mission commander, Nicky's resulting jealousy threatens the project and the gang's grades.
Screech helps Eric cheat in hopes of helping Bayside win the science fair for the first time. Meanwhile, Rachel and Katie pressure Ryan and Nicky to take them to see "Hamlet" starring Keanu Reeves but the boy forget to buy tickets.
At Space Camp, Katie feels lonely being the only single girl, so she dates a guy she doesn't really like. Meanwhile, Ryan and Nicky give Rachel and Maria ugly jackets.
