A.J. is transporting $450,000 worth of diamonds by plane for the newly opened Simon & Simon Courier Service when the plane is hijacked and the diamonds are stolen. The Simons become #1 on the FBI's suspect list and to make matters worse there is a ten thousand dollar deductible on their insurance which must be paid before they are paid. The Simons begin tracking down the stolen diamonds while evading FBI agents tailing them. They suspect it might have been an inside job and their investigation leads them back to the airport and Bailey Randall whose company was in charge of the security for the flight.
S2.E6 ∙ Rough Rider Rides Again
An actor who played the character on a long running TV show has fallen on hard times and his only means of support is making appearances as his old character. But when a producer gets the rights to his character and is about to make a new movie with a different actor in the role, he bars the actor from appearing as his old character. When the actor goes to see the producer to be paid, the producer is killed. So A.J. and Rick are hired to help the man.

A woman who has recurring nightmares that her twin sister is in grave danger hires the Simon brothers to find her when she turns up missing.
S2.E8 ∙ The Last Time I Saw Michael
Margaret who along with her husband were good friends of Cecilia and her family, says that she got a phone call from her husband who went missing four years ago. Cecilia asks Rick and A.J. who thought of her husband as second father, to make sure that someone is not trying to take advantage of her. She later gets a letter which she says is written in her husband's handwriting, asking her for money. They have the note analyzed and the handwriting expert can't be certain is the handwriting is of Margaret's husband. When Margaret wants to give the money, the boys asks her to wait.

A game show host suspects that the show he is currently hosting is fixed. So he turns to the Simons for help because he was already involved in the game show fixing scandal in the 50's even though he was completely innocent. So they try to find out how they're doing it.

AJ and Rick are asked to investigate a case of espionage at a laser research facility. Someone from AJ's past returns and their obsession with him takes a disturbing turn.

A.J. and Rick were at a restaurant when the owner is killed. And while they didn't actually see the incident, they saw a man standing over him with the weapon. The prosecutor whom they know, who is using the case for exposure, is determined to see the man convicted. But they eventually realize the man may be innocent and the prosecutor also knows it but is apparently using them to get someone else.

The brothers have trouble with both the Fed's and the Mob while looking for a eccentric woman's ex-boyfriend all while Rick makes an important life decision.

The brothers start a security company, and are immediately hired to protect a Peruvian national treasure. Despite the very expensive due diligence they apply to the premises on which is it held, it is promptly stolen.

When a man who's going through a messy divorce hires Rick and A.J. to locate a man who could give vital testimony, they find him bring him to court, he testifies and his wife's alimony suit is dismissed. Later they learn that their client and the man they were hired to find were in cahoots so that he wouldn't have to pay his wife a divorce settlement. When they are unable to prove their client's collusion and Brown tells them to let it go. They decide to turn Brown's cousin Lucky a con man who's just been released from prison. Brown warns them that Lucky is not to be trusted and after they approach him, he is approached by some people whom he owes money to and offers them what he's going to get from Rick and A.J.'s plot.

As A.J. runs for city council, Rick probes a case that could link his brother's opponent to murder and illegal toxic-waste dumping.

It's Cecilia's 40th high school reunion. She asks the boys to dig up a time capsule she and her classmates placed things in and buried. She then asks them to locate one of her classmates a guy named Phil whom she dated before she dated the boys father. A.J. is uncomfortable about it. When they open it, they find a policeman's badge from Mexico and a gun which is used by Mexican police and that it was fired. The boys take it to Town. Later Phil shows up and says that 40 years ago he went to Mexico and got into it with a local cop and shot him with his gun and ran with the gun and his badge and placed it in the time capsule. The boys turn him to the police but Cecilia doesn't believe him and she asks the boys to look into it but A.J. is not exactly willing.
S6.E4 ∙ The Cop Who Came to Dinner
Jenkins, just out of prison, seeks revenge on Downtown and injures him in a murder attempt. Downton moves in with AJ and Rick for safety reasons but Jenkins continues his attempts to take the police chief out for good.

Against their better judgement Rick and AJ agree to accompany prospector Justin Carter on his search for a lost mine. The decision is influenced by AJ's attraction to his daughter. Naturally complications and danger ensues.

When a fight breaks out in the studio during a taping (exactly mirroring a fight on Geraldo Rivera's talk show the very day before this episode was broadcast) someone in the overhead lighting grid takes advantage to start blasting away at the host with a huge revolver. A.J. and Rick identify the stalker and start hunting for him as he goes over the wall into an adjacent empty studio, but can they stop him before he kills the talk show host, who also went next door?
