Adapted from the handwritten notes of a man who escaped from a political prison camp in North Korea, "Snowdrop" is set against the backdrop of the 1987 Democracy Movement in South Korea.

Meet Eun Yung-ro and her troublesome friends in dormitory. They receive a call and get invited to a blind date. National police detectives are looking for a certain opposition agent who has recently returned from Germany.
Soo-ho comes into the window of Room 207 in Women's University Dormitory and collapses. Young-ro and others try to hide him from the officers.
Youngro takes care of the injured Suho and tries to find a way to send him out from the dormitory .
Soo-ho, who leaves the dormitory, begins to secretly move again. Meanwhile, Lee Kang-moo secures decisive evidence of Soo-ho's whereabouts and pursues him.
Suho starts negotiating with the head of the National Security Agency to escape with his teammate .
Turning a blind eye to Yeong-ro who feels betrayed, Soo-ho continues the hostage crisis, and a doctor, Kang Chung-ya, is sent in to treat an injured associate of Soo-ho.
When Soo-ho realises Yeong-ro is the daughter of the head of the National Security Agency, he has no choice but to use Yeong-ro to make it out alive.
Yeong-ro passes out after hearing her brother's death. Broken Soo-ho apologizes to her. Meanwhile, the tension builds up as the hostage crisis makes it to the news nationwide.
Yeong-ro does not believe in Soo-ho's sincerity and eventually works out an escape plan with Gang-mu.
When the anonymous reveals their identity, Han-na carries out Gang-mu's order and moves to catch the secret evidence surrounding the hostage crisis.
Finally facing the cruel truth surrounding the hostage crisis, Soo-ho joins hands with his enemy Gang-mu and suppresses Cheong-ya.
Soo-ho and Gang-mu expose the scheme behind the presidential election. They also had to deal with the presence of a spy who secretly leaked their plan to the ANSP.
Soo-ho comforts Yeong-ro who no longer trusts her father. Students are confused as to which side they should trust.
Soo-ho is heartbroken to see Yeong-ro struggling with guilt after hearing the news about her father. Soo-ho and Gang-mu start distrusting each other. As Yeong-ro's romance with Soo-ho develops further, she was abandoned by her friends.
Giving up his hope in Cheong-ya, Soo-ho has no choice but to accept the head of the National Security Agency's proposal.
Soo-ho, who left Yeong-ro, stands at the crossroads of fate just before returning to his hometown.
