An English spy is sent to Berlin in 1961 to sift out a traitor in the UK Embassy or among the Allies, shortly before the construction of the Berlin Wall.

S1.E1 ∙ Codename Beethoven
Berlin, 1961: Fielding Scott, a disgraced MI6 agent, is given a chance to rehabilitate. He is supposed to organize the defection of an East German scientist who has made an explosive discovery. The operation fails, the deserter is murdered. There must be a mole within the Allied secret services. Scott goes on a dangerous search for the traitor.
S1.E2 ∙ Out of the Past
The fatal fiasco of the Beethoven defection has consequences; Fielding is tasked with finding and eliminating the traitor; Fielding begins to recruit his own private army.
S1.E3 ∙ My Enemy's Enemy
Fielding's Berlin life is unraveling; he decides to go rogue and provoke the Russians into retaliating; at the same time he is now being blackmailed over his affair with Severine.
S1.E4 ∙ The Flower Market
Fielding's clever plan seems to be working; the Russians are agitated, running scared; a date is mentioned for the first time -- Aug. 13.

Fielding feels threatened and drops out of sight; three urgent questions preoccupy him, including the Beirut photograph and the date of Sunday, Aug. 13
S1.E6 ∙ The Wall
Fielding, reeling from the death of Severine, knows he has more to do; he must avenge Severine's death; he unmasks the traitor and all the Berlin mysteries are explained.
