Shannon struggles to set boundaries with Tonya as they collaborate on the newly-minted Gran-Paws program. Travis' dog goes missing and Nikki discovers a new talent while helping Liam pick up guys at the dog park.

When Shannon discovers her birth mother Colleen is still in town, she's torn between reconnecting or moving on. Shannon and Joy tag-team a meeting with a potential Gran-Paws donor. At the shelter, Kristian helps Paul connect with his childhood hero and Lara assures Liam that Ruby doesn't hate him.

Shannon seeks out a new therapist in Hamilton after Kristian recommends his. At the shelter, Lara advises Joy to keep her emotions in check and Nikki begrudgingly lets Peggy assist with dog grooming after an influx of clients.

After a challenging board meeting, Shannon tries to balance being a friend and a boss while co-hosting a party for her staff. Meanwhile, Nikki hates on Paul's new love who also happens to be Peggy's BFF. Kristian and Liam help Lara weigh the pros and cons of her relationship with Ravi.

Shannon discovers something unexpected when she directs Travis in a video for the shelter's Gran-Paws program. Liam and Nikki convince Paul to bid on his dream piece of land and Joy keeps a secret from Lara and the other staff.
S2.E7 ∙ Attractor
Shannon seeks to impress the board and sponsors with a Gran-Paws day at the shelter but her success is threatened by a key staff shortage and a distracting text chain. Kristian is forced to sacrifice an important personal milestone at Shannon's request, causing Peggy to come to his defense. Joy tests Lara's patience when she overshares about reaching her own milestone with Devon.
S2.E8 ∙ House Sitting
Shannon makes a surprise visit to Doris' when Travis goes out of town leaving Joy to look in on his mom. Liam helps Paul with a new land deal that Paul is determined to get. Lara and Kristian both try to impress Lara's overbearing dad, while Nikki is uncharacteristically excited for an old school movie night with Shannon.
S2.E9 ∙ Promoting From Within
Shannon finds herself caught between Travis and his past when she helps clean up after a shelter dog gives birth at Doris'. Meanwhile, Kristian seeks to be promoted for his hard work but isn't sure Shannon fully appreciates him. Nikki brings Joy along when she and Marko go apartment hunting.

It's time for the Maddie Awards, a community service honour, so may the most altruistic woman win. Shannon must decide whether to go for what she wants or stand back and let others call the shots. Meanwhile, Nikki and Jared finally confront each other about their competing grooming businesses, Liam wants to keep a new relationship private, and Lara surprises Kristian with a thoughtful gift.
