Lauren Lapkus plays a string of characters in interconnected stories. The main focus is Whitney Peeps, singer and star of a new dating show, plus foul-mouthed schoolboy Todd and his parenting issues.
S1.E2 ∙ John Early
A rehearsal wedding dinner centres around a narcissistic host who can't bear the party to not be about him. Other characters include Vicky the southern stand-up comedienne, and Jason, the dater who has no interest in his date.
S1.E3 ∙ Henry Zebrowski
Henry is an obnoxious, uncaring individual until he steps out in front of traffic and is killed. In the afterlife he's forced to confront his behaviour and the worthless lives of all his past selves throughout history.
S1.E4 ∙ Kate Berlant
An exploration of the innovative artist Denise St. Roy (Kate Berlant) as she prepares to launch her new art masterpiece. Among the artists paying homage and playing "themselves" is sculptor Tony Berlant - Kate's real-life father.
S1.E5 ∙ Natasha Rothwell
Natasha Rothwell has to attend jury duty, and against her better judgement turns up hungover. Along the way a host of other characters are met, including an inspirational schoolgirl and a homeless man who threatens TV spoilers to get cash.

Paul W. Downs mixes a theatre show with the introduction of several sketch characters. Characters include the big truck fanatic, the experimental couple and a blind detective - but will any of them live to see the end credits?
S1.E7 ∙ Tim Robinson
Tim Robinson plays an obsessed actor, a disturbed official of a limousine company, a client of a gun shop and more.
S1.E8 ∙ Dr. Brown
A birthday party sees a group of strangers all invited to join in the celebrations, with Dr. Brown as multiple different characters. In an innovation, the entire episode is recorded in one continuous sequence.
