S1.E2 ∙ Kjærligheten
Harald studies in Oxford. Olav is lonely after Märtha's death. For his birthday, the king invites princesses, but Harald prefers his friends-especially Sonja. As her friends settle, she urges Harald to seek his father's blessing to marry.
S1.E3 ∙ En unaturlig måte å leve på
The press hunts for royal gossip, while Sonja fears losing herself if she joins the Royal Family. Queen Elizabeth pressures King Olav to address Harald's choice, as Harald battles between love and duty.

King Olav seeks counsel from a divided government, as many Norwegians support Harald and Sonja's marriage, but fear it will break the constitution. Harald feels he's defying the law, while Sonja struggles with following her heart.
