Ed is determined his friends become the focus of his last card, his attempts to help Marv prompting a shared realisation about where the line is in unwanted intervening in the lives of others. Ritchie both achieves and relitigates closure.

Ed's desperation to repair the fraying bonds between his friends prompts him to discover more about them than he'd expected, or thought to find out in the first place. Mistakes and transgressions are acknowledged and forgiven; love blooms.
