S1.E1 ∙ Flood Warning
The Thornberrys are in Africa near Mt. Kilimanjaro to film lions. Debbie pleads with her mom to let her drive the comvee while she films and Marianne reluctantly consents. Debbie loses control of the comvee and it falls down a muddy river bank. Before they can get it out a storm erupts and the comvee is washed away. That night while camping near the river Debbie goes off on foot in pursuit of the comvee while Eliza goes off in pursuit of her and Darwin and Donnie go off in pursuit of her. Soon all become prey to a lion and two lionesses. Eliza will have to outwit them all before they end up the main course.
S1.E2 ∙ Dinner with Darwin
When Darwin is miffed by Eliza, he sets off into the jungle to prove himself capable of his natural instincts. After a "scary" night in the jungle, he stumbles upon an empty shack and quickly takes refuge.
S1.E3 ∙ Bad Company
A swarm of mysterious, prankster marmosets overrun the Thornberry camp, and it is up to Eliza to beat them at their own game.
S1.E4 ∙ Gold Fever
When Eliza and Debbie discover an old treasure map on the Galapagos Islands, they set out to claim their "riches" However, once the gold is discovered, greed sets in and the girls begin an all-out battle of trickery to get the gold.
S1.E5 ∙ Matadi or Bust
The Thornberrys are in Africa along the banks of the Congo River. They have three days to catch a freighter at Matadi but if they miss it they will be stuck in Matadi for eight weeks. On the barge on the way to Matadi Eliza discovers that Kip and Biederman are also on board and they have a captured hippo with them which they plan to sell to a zoo. While helping the hippo escape Eliza, Darwin and Donnie fall overboard.
S1.E6 ∙ Temple of Eliza
The Thornberrys are in Brazil near the Amazon River when Eliza starts to feel as if nobody is paying any attention to her...Debbie is consumed with herself and her parents are fussing over Donnie. She and Darwin head into the jungle and take a ride down river. When they disembark they find a jaguar trapped in a pit. She helps it to escape and the jaguar family thanks her. Eliza is so delighted to be paid attention to that she creates a fairy tale story and convinces the jaguars that she is their princess.
S1.E7 ∙ Vacant Lot
A huge forest eating machine is destroying the Amazon forest. Nigel and Marianne set out to find government help in stopping it while Eliza teams up with the animals to fight it. Debbie's attempt to listen to a radio show are being thwarted by a radio that continually breaks down.
S1.E8 ∙ Only Child
The Thornberrys are camping on the banks of the Amazon river so Nigel can perfect his insect repellent formula. Eliza becomes fascinated with a fresh water dolphin that she sees out in the river. Debbie is bored as usual when a teenage girl from the village wanders into camp. She and Debbie begin hanging together while Eliza worries that she could be a legend come true...a dolphin that takes the form of a young girl. Could Jao be a dolphin in human form?
S1.E9 ∙ Iron Curtain
Eliza busts a young elephant out of a Kenyan game preserve, only to face predators and poachers who are out to get them.
S1.E10 ∙ Valley Girls
The Thornberrys are in Uganda's Impenetrable Forest to film the rare bird The Great Crested grebe. While Marianne and Nigel go off to film the girl's argue over the use of the tape player. In the ensuing argument Debbie releases the commvee's brake and it takes off downhill. It finally comes to rest on a muddy river bank where it is firmly stuck. The girls will have to work together to free it.
S1.E11 ∙ Naimina Enkiyio
Challenging an ancient Massai legend, Eliza marches into a "haunted" forest to prove her bravery. Now, with night falling, Eliza must place her trust in the mysterious legends of the Massai in order to find her way safely through the dark forest.
S1.E12 ∙ Blood Sisters
The Thornberrys are driving in the Andes Mountains in Peru on the way to visit Dr. Spinoza the world's foremost authority on vampire bats. This is a special trip for Marianne who was a student of Dr. Spinoza's twenty years ago. On the way Eliza starts reading about bats and her movie memories about vampires starts spooking her a bit. Dr. Spinoza lives in a remote, big castle and he is not at all like Marianne remembers. Everything about him gets Eliza's imagination going and Debbie sees it as a chance to have some fun at her sister's expense.

The Thornberrys are on the Gallapagos Isalnds to film the return of the sea turtles. While off exploring with Darwin and Donnie, Eliza gives a finch an unfair advantage in getting food and in so doing disrupts the delicate food chain of the island.
S1.E14 ∙ Flight of the Donnie
With a bed-ridden Marianne, Eliza tires to fill in her shoes around the commvee while Debbie goes with Nigel to shoot footage. Things get out of hand when a feather-covered Donnie is snatched up by a condor and mistaken as her own.

When the girls discover that their parents have mistakenly taken embarrassing home movies to an awards banquet, they join forces in order to save face.
S1.E16 ∙ Nigel Knows Best
Eliza and her father set off on foot to scale the Andes. Nigel assures Marianne he will be very careful and keep close tabs on Eliza. Marianne is upset because her mother sent a care package. She thinks her mother doesn't think she's a good mother. While scaling the mountain Eliza can't stand her father's over protectiveness and wanders off on her own...right when a blizzard strikes.

When Eliza discovers that a local performer claims he can talk to animals she believes she's found a soul mate. Eliza must enlist the help of some very "urban" animals to help her sneak into the sideshow and meet "The Great Bangaboo."

Eliza convinces a group of Baboon-like apes to stand up against their legendary adversaries- "The Others." Darwin, meanwhile, has met an almost identical group of apes with an identical problem.

Eliza will stop at nothing to get a look at the gigantic, fierce Komodo Dragon that lives on Southeast Asian Islands. Her plans are halted when the unexpected arrival of her home-schooling teacher forces her to "hit the books."

The Thornberrys are in the jungle of Sumatra where Nigel is in pursuit of his lifelong dream...to see a Sumatran Rhino in the wild. Eliza and Darwin set out to help him find it while Debbie and Donnie find some surfing teenagers.

Eliza succumbs to peer pressure from a "teenage" elephant disrupting her closeness with Marianne on an overnight trip.

S2.E3 ∙ Rain Dance
The commvee's fuel pump breaks down and leaves the Thornberrys stranded in an African desert. A map reveals a nearby town 17 miles away and Nigel takes off on foot to find a new one. Things get bad when Marianne discovers their water tank has burst and they are almost out of water. Eliza and Darwin attempt to find water and run into a herd of Gemsbok and other animals near a dried up water hole. They are waiting for the rainmaker to bring rain and they think Eliza can talk to him. She gets caught up in their story and decides to play rainmaker herself.
S2.E4 ∙ Darwin Plays the Palace
The Thornberrys are in India when Eliza and Darwing are seen playing together by Kip and Biederman. They capture Darwin and sell him to a Rajah who is looking for a new chimp act to entertain his court. Eliza frantically searches for the missing Darwin and follows a trail of kumquats Darwin left to the Rajah's palace. Entry to the palace is forbidden and she will have to rely on her wits to sneak inside and rescue Darwin.
S2.E5 ∙ Stick Your Neck Out
Eliza finds an animal hero in a giraffe who can see great distances with his height and warn others of approaching danger. However, to Eliza's dismay, the giraffe skips out on the animals for his own needs. O
S2.E6 ∙ No Laughing Matter
Eliza frees a Hyena, but since it never lived in the wild it doesn't know how to survive. Eliza attempts to teach it, but it seems hopeless until a wild boar threatens them and the hyena's natural instincts take over.
S2.E7 ∙ Chimp Off the Old Block
Darwin brings Eliza to a chimpanzee compound. When Eliza is not being subservient to the hierarchy, Darwin gets in hot water with the leader. Only after a threatening fire starts does Eliza realize the necessary hierarchy for jungle survival.
S2.E8 ∙ Koality and Kuantity
Eliza discovers that someone is kidnapping Koalas, and while trying to save them, she and Darwin also get kidnapped.
S2.E9 ∙ Chew If by Sea
When the Thornberrys leave Australia, Eliza can't bear to leave her wambat friend, Emily. Even though Eliza is told not to, she brings Emily aboard their ship bound to India.

The Thornberrys meet the Fensterkopfs, who make false documentaries. The Fensterkopf's kid lies to Eliza and gets them stuck on a cliff. After the families barely escape an avalanche, the value of truth is learned by all.

The Thornberry's trek their way up into the snow-capped Himalayan mountains to capture some rare footage of the local snow-leopards. However, something eerie looms in the distance. Eliza sets out to discover the secret of the ancient "Yeti!"

When the Thornberry's are in Finland for the annual reindeer races, Eliza single-handedly uncovers Kip and Biederman's plot to sabotage the races.

When a friendly polar bear is wrongly accused of vicious behavior, Eliza goes to great lengths to keep him from being harmed and learns the value of sticking by a friend in times of trouble.

The Thornberrys are at the Yasuni National Preserve in South America near the Gallapagos Islands. They are there to see Lonesome Jake the last Tortoise of his species. Eliza feels terrible that he is the last one and is determined to search out a female...she asks the local animals and hears of one that lives in a volcano on the Gallapagos. It's a female named Samantha and they bring it back to Jake but Eliza's interfering matchmaking ways cause more harm than good. Love is also in the air for Donnie who finds a jungle girl who is his perfect match.

After Eliza saves an arctic hare from a determined stoat, she learns that underdogs come in all shapes and sizes.
S2.E16 ∙ Thornberry Island
The Thornberry's get stranded on an uncharted island, basking at first in all the beauty and the splendor, but discover soon enough that being marooned isn't all it's cracked up to be.
S2.E17 ∙ Dances with Dingoes
Debbie discovers Eliza barking to dingoes and threatens to tell her parents. Eliza is afraid of being shipped back to the United States as a science experiment, seeks help from nearby Aborigines.
S2.E18 ∙ Reef Grief
Eliza pulls the wrong lever and catapults the commvee to the bottom of the deeper waters of Australia! She is soon forced to don scuba gear and enlist the help of an army of dugongs in order to rescue her dad!
S2.E19 ∙ Tamper Proof Seal
When the Commvee is surrounded by angry seals, Eliza tries to use her own methods to get them to move, but she learns from her Inuit friend Jim that traditional ways have their value.
S2.E20 ∙ You Otter Know
The Thornberrys are on the Russian peninsula of Kamchatka to film the Stellar Sea Eagle. Nigel and Marianne take off to film via helicopter while Eliza and Darwin explore. They meet up with a friendly group of Sea Otters and start playing together when an oil tanker comes into the area. To make matters worse Kip and Biedermann rupture the tanker and start an oil spill. Eliza takes it upon herself to save the otters. But when the oil catches fire who will save her?

Eliza takes desperate measures to help animals survive during tough times, but the price she pays is her family's holiday cheer.

When the Thornberrys visit Nigel's friend Jomo, they search for an elephant, Rebecca, that Nigel saved twenty years ago. As the family attends to an elephant stuck in a mudhole, Eliza bonds with Rebecca, only to learn that she is old and ready to die.

When Eliza tries to swim with the humpback whales, Darwin's clumsiness leads to an accident that causes the whales to stop their ritual singing. When Eliza tries to set things right, she is arrested for violating the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

Eliza tells Darwin the tale of how she acquired her ability to speak to animals, and how she retained her ability to speak to humans as well.

The Thornberrys are in the Philipines to find the Angler Fish. While Nigel and Eliza travel the river to find it Debbie and Marianne stay behind to study for Debbie's final. While looking for the fish Nigel is stung by a poisonous fish and Eliza must go into a dark, mysterious bog to get the antitoxin.
S2.E31 ∙ Monkey See, Monkey Don't
When Eliza meets a group of temple monkeys, they con her into bringing all of her family's food. While Darwin tries to convince her otherwise, Eliza realizes that she's been duped and learns the value of Darwin's friendship.
S2.E32 ∙ Where the Gauchos Roam
The Thornberrys visit a cattle ranch in Argentina where Marianne's old high school friend, Gabriella lives. Eliza is also looking forward to meeting her pen pal Miguel for the first time. While Marianne and Gabriella reminisce about old times Debbie develops a crush on the foreman Antonio. They all go out on a cattle drive where Eliza discovers that Miguel is not quite the gaucho he has led everyone to believe.
S2.E33 ∙ A Shaky Foundation
The Thornberrys are visited by the Foundation head's son, Tom, who splits the Nigel and Marianne team up. An overzealous Tom treats Eliza like a child until he lands the Commvee in a raging river.
S2.E34 ∙ Cheetahs Never Prosper
During a drought, Eliza is forbidden to assist the thirsty animals, but she breaks her promise when she sees a cheetah cub alone on the savanna.
S2.E35 ∙ Gobi Yourself
Eliza and a Chinese girl, Arioka, secretly switch places so Eliza can ride across the desert on camels and Arioka can ride in the Commvee, but Arioka's parents change their plans and Eliza must figure a way to get them back to the Thornberrys.
S2.E36 ∙ Every Little Bit Alps
Eliza is afraid to admit to her friend Ben that she doesn't know how to snowboard, just as a rutting ibex is afraid to stand up to another ibex.
S2.E37 ∙ Pack of Thornberrys
Eliza and Debbie are fighting so much that Debbie decides to apply to boarding school, but meeting up with a lone wolf teaches Eliza that families, like packs, belong together.
S3.E1 ∙ Dragon Me Along
When the Thornberrys visit the Great Wall Of China, Eliza is shocked to find that a poacher has captured her panda friend Shi Shou and his mother. With the help of her e-mail pal, Ling, Eliza tries to rescue the pandas.
S3.E2 ∙ Time Flies
The Thornberrys are in the Florida Everglades to film the Endangered Snail Kite. It is also Nigel's birthday and Marianne and the girls have a brand new watch/compass for him. While Marianne and Nigel go off to film the girls and Darwin and Donnie explore the Everglades in an air boat. Debbie wants to keep track of their time and brings the new watch. Soon they get lost and while using the compass drop it overboard. A Swamp Witch and a hungry alligator will make getting it back very difficult.
S3.E3 ∙ Horse Sense
The Thornberrys are in Mongolia for the Naadam Festival. The festival is held outdoors and features events such as horse racing, wrestling and archery. Eliza decides she wants to enter the horse racing contest and asks Marianne to help train her. Debbie becomes involved in the archery contest and Donnie enters the wrestling contest. Eliza picks a nice, reliable horse to ride but what she really wants is to ride one of the wild horses. But they are not reliable and she gets more than she bargained for when she mounts one.
S3.E4 ∙ Tyler Tucker, I Presume
The Thornberry's are in the Congo along the banks of the Congo River to film the African Clawless Otter where they are waiting for Tyler Tucker to join them. Tyler and Eliza are cousins and close in age and very competitive with each other. When the commvee is put out of commission they take a small steamer boat named Prudence up the river in search of the otter. Tyler is not aware of all the dangers that the wild can hold and soon has them heading straight for disaster.
S3.E5 ∙ Critical Masai
While camping near a Masai village Eliza and her cousin Tyler compete to see who is the bravest. Their courage is truly put to the test when they are caught out on the Savannah during a lightning storm.
S3.E6 ∙ Queen of Denial
The Thornberrys are in Egypt to film the elusive Caracal cat. While Marianne and Nigel go off via camel to film Eliza, Tyler and Darwin go exploring. While wandering through the desert they fall into an ancient burial chamber. Eliza and Tyler will have to work together to avoid the booby traps that have been set to discourage grave robbers. Meanwhile Debbie is convinced she is a descendant of Cleopatra.
S3.E7 ∙ Island Trade
While on the island of Zanzibar Debbie pleads with her mom to go to Stone Town Market for some shopping. Marianne is reluctant to let her have the comvee but eventually gives in. Debbie, Eliza, Tyler and Darwin head to the market while Nigel, Marianne and Donnie go off to film in an ancient crater. Most of the shopping at the market is done by barter and they accidentally trade the comvee for a dress. The kids take off in pursuit of the merchant who is now driving their comvee to try and reach an understanding with him.
S3.E8 ∙ Birthday Quake
All set to celebrate his thirteenth birthday in the Savannah, Tyler can't wait to accompany Eliza on one of her adventures, but Eliza keeps ditching him so she can help the Elephant Phaedra figure out what's wrong with her cousin, Shango.
S3.E9 ∙ The Legend of Ha Long Bay
Eliza offers to help Nigel film manta rays. When a fisherman tells her that a dragon haunts the bay, Eliza, already spooked from reading too many ghost stories, is convinced that something is out there.
S3.E10 ∙ Spirited Away
As the family prepares to film the "Day of the Dead" ceremony in a small town, Eliza meets a little girl who tells her about the spirits returning.
S3.E11 ∙ Family Tradition
Grandma Sophie invites the Thornberrys to the States for Thanksgiving, but Nigel and Marianne must decline due to their deadline to film the rare Fossa. Debbie is furious and Marianne reluctantly sends the girls.
S3.E12 ∙ Happy Old Year
Debbie accidentally hurts fer father's feelings on New Year's Eve by ditching the family for a couple of eccentric, 30's-era volcano chasers, Mitzi and Merrick Dash. Eliza goes after her to reclaim her friend, Santusa the Llama.
S3.E13 ∙ Happy Campers
The Thornberrys visit the "land of happiness" to film the black-necked crane migration dance, but due to tourist limits, only two of them can enter the city. After it is decided that Marianne and Debbie go, Eliza and Darwin sneak inside the border.
S3.E14 ∙ All Work and No Play
The Thornberrys are in Siberia along the banks of a river which feeds into Lake Baikal. Nigel and Marianne are there to film the Russian Lynx while the girls are forced to stay at the campsite and take inventory of their provisions. This really annoys Debbie who wants to go to the town of Bolshoi Goti and pick up a CD of her favorite Russian Band The Slovniks. Debbie and Eliza both shirk their responsibilities...Debbie and Donnie take off via raft to Bolshoi Goti and Eliza and Darwin tour a nearby beaver dam. Everyone gets in trouble with an unexpected storm erupts and the river begins to rise.
S3.E15 ∙ New Territory
The Thornberrys run out of gas and meet a family who could be their Aussie doubles. Eliza hits it off with Bethany, but is awkward and overprotective when she realizes she's in a wheelchair.
S3.E16 ∙ Operation Valentine
When Eliza gets a bad stomach, she assumes the Valentine cookies Debbie baked for Sven made her ill. But when she goes rock climbing with Darwin and Donnie, her pain worsens.
S3.E17 ∙ Hello, Dolphin!
When Debbie's e-mail boyfriend, Sven, breaks up with her, Eliza tries to cheer her up by getting a reluctant Debbie to swim with dolphins.
S3.E18 ∙ April Fool's Day
On April Fool's Day, Eliza and Marianne keep up their yearly tradition of pulling practical jokes on each other. When Tyler tries to top Eliza by pulling off a better prank, he takes it too far and ends up falling into quicksand.
S3.E19 ∙ Gem of a Mom
Eliza and Debbie compete to give Marianne the best Mother's Day present. But when a rockslide on the Karakoram Highway ruins their gifts, they must work together to get Marianne the ultimate gift - precious gems that are rumored to be in the mountains.

The Thornberry's are in Japan near Mt. Fuji to film the Asian black bear when Marianne's parents visit to spend their 50th anniversary with them. Grandpa Frank has had health problems recently and has problems acting his age. Eliza, Darwin and Grandpa Frank go off to climb Mt. Fuji.

Donnie gets lost in the Rain Forest. As Eliza searches she realizes he may be heading home to look for any of his remaining family.
S4.E1 ∙ The Trouble with Darwin
The Thornberrys are in Tanzania, Africa to film the Grand Opening of Dr. Jane Goodall's Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Eliza can't wait to meet her idol Dr. Goodall. When they arrive Debbie is put to work caring for baby chimps in the nursery while Eliza and Dr. Goodall have an awkward first meeting. She is not impressed with Darwin and the fact that he is domesticated. Eliza's feelings are hurt and she runs off into the jungle with Darwin following. Trouble ensues when they run into poachers who have been working nearby.
S4.E2 ∙ The Origin of Donnie: Part 2
Donnie searches the jungles of Borneo for his ancestry, causing Eliza to worry that he will break ties with the Thornberry clan.
S4.E3 ∙ The Origin of Donnie: Part 3
A fire breaks out in the forest and Donnie is blamed; can Eliza convince it wasn't Donnie and get the animals to safety? Meanwhile, Marianne and Nigel find shelter in a cave nearby, only to get lost inside, and Debbie and Sophie help the village put out the fire, while learning about Donnie's real parents.
S4.E4 ∙ The Origin of Donnie: Part 4
The rest of the fire is put out by the rain. The others are reunited and Donnie is found. The family believe he is going back to his parents, but they soon realize the truth.

Eliza tries to talk Darwin into taking a hot air balloon ride, knowing full well that he's afraid of heights. After being pushed around one too many times, Darwin stands up to Eliza and refuses to go.

At the request of the foundation, teenage rocker Shane G. joins the Thornberrys during their stay in Alaska. Since Eliza and Debbie both have a crush on Shane, they both go exploring with Shane only to discover who thick-headed he really is.

While Marianne and Nigel are off filming in Glacier Bay National Park, Shane and Eliza disobey orders and kayak into the bay to view a glacier that's about to calve. Nigel finds filming the rare blue glacier bear too easy.

Eliza lets jealousy over Shane and Debbie get the better of her commonsense, ultimately, endangering them all. Nigel and Marianne face one natural obstacle after another in their quest to get close to the skittish Dall sheep.

In the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge, a competition between Eliza and Shane gets out of hand, threatening a herd of muskoxen and the livelihood of the Yupeik Eskimos.

While Marianne and Nigel are off filming in Glacier Bay National Park, Shane and Eliza disobey orders and kayak into the bay to view a glacier that's about to calve. Nigel finds filming the rare blue glacier bear too easy.
