When Hickok accidentally insults a professional gunfighter, Emma attempts to step between them. Apologies and promises are not enough, however, to keep Hickok from his destiny.

S1.E3 ∙ Home of the Brave

When the Kiowa begin to attack white settlements and civilians, Buck must decide between loyalty to his Kiowa brother and to the obligations and friendships he has found with the Pony Express. In the meantime, Lou, Hickok and Cody get into a fight with Tompkins and his men because of the shopkeeper's insults against Buck.

S1.E4 ∙ Speak No Evil

While on an Express run, Ike witnesses a terrible stagecoach massacre and finds himself unable to take the life of the gang's leader. The man is apprehended, however, and it is up to the Riders to ensure Ike's safe passage to the courthouse where he can testify.

S1.E5 ∙ Bad Blood

Lou ventures back to the orphanage where she grew up in order to see her younger brother and sister for the first time in five years. However her estranged father, a villainous gunrunner, has taken the children to his canyon fortress. Can Lou rescue her siblings and keep her secret from the other Riders?

S1.E6 ∙ Black Ulysses

When an escaped slave helps around Emma's farm and saves The Kid's horse, Katy, from a fire, the Riders must decide whether to obey the law - the Fugitive Slave Act - or act to save a man who has suffered a life of injustice and cruelty.

S1.E7 ∙ Ten-Cent Hero

After Jimmy insults a dime novel author named Marcus, he suffers the consequences of much unwanted notoriety as the exaggerated subject of Marcus's newest novel. Guns blazing, hired hitmen and toughs arrive in Sweetwater, determined to take down Wild Bill Hickok, the fastest gun in the West.

S1.E8 ∙ False Colors

The Kid's estranged brother Jed is up to no good. After bushwhacking an Army detachment and stealing their identities, Jed and his gang ingratiate themselves with the Riders while angling to receive a gold shipment intended for the US Government. When Sam becomes suspicious, The Kid must decide between family and justice.

S1.E9 ∙ A Good Day to Die

The Kid discovers a half-Hunkpapa warrior, Curly, at the sight of an apparent Sioux massacre and takes him into custody. Curly's smart mouth does nothing to ease tensions in Sweetwater, but The Kid and the Riders come to trust him. Were the Sioux really responsible for the massacre or is someone trying to set up the tribe?

S1.E10 ∙ End of Innocence

When Emma insists on traveling to Ft. Reunion to help deliver her friend's baby, Hickok accompanies her. They become virtual prisoners of an ambitious captain who schemes to incite an Indian war and make a name for himself on the frontier. Trapped, Emma and Jimmy must rely on each other for survival and comfort.

S1.E11 ∙ Blind Love

Hickok falls hard for a young woman named Sarah who, unbeknownst to him, is married. When her husband is shot dead, Jimmy is imprisoned and tried for murder. But what is it Sarah's deceptive nature and a lying cattle wrangler that feels all wrong? Sam and the Riders work together to solve the mystery before Jimmy hangs.

A girl comes to Sweetwater to con Teaspoon into believing she's his daughter.

S1.E13 ∙ Fall from Grace

Hickok has a fight with Teaspoon and agrees to go to work in a brothel where the madam, Grace Rollins, has taken a fancy to Jimmy. But deceptions abound: Grace has her eye on a secret Army cache of weapons she plans to sell on the black market, and Jimmy has his eye on her illegal schemes.

S1.E14 ∙ Hard Time

The Kid falls into hellish captivity when he and Cody stay in the seemingly pleasant town of Prosperity.

S1.E15 ∙ Lady for a Night

While away from Sweetwater on a run, Lou impulsively buys a dress and tours a new town as the young woman she is. An insurance salesman, Tyler Dewitt, takes Lou out to dinner, and she becomes enamored of him. But is the polite salesman all he appears? And what will The Kid think?

S1.E16 ∙ Unfinished Business

Evan, Emma's estranged husband, returns, reminding Emma of her difficult past and driving a wedge between her and Sam. But despite any reluctant loyalty she feels for him, even Emma must admit that Evan's behavior is suspicious. Just what is his link to a terrible stagecoach massacre?

S1.E17 ∙ Decoy

The Army requests a rider to deliver a special dispatch, and Cody volunteers for the job. Along the way, he encounters brigands, a bear, and a desolate widow, but he remains committed to his task. Meanwhile, the Riders tend to an abandoned baby.

S1.E18 ∙ Daddy's Girl

At a town celebration, Buck falls for the daughter of an ambitious banker, but her motives in the relationship are questionable. Meanwhile, the Riders help a desperate woman whose husband was killed by the banker's henchmen, and they investigate accusations of illegal claim jumping.

S1.E19 ∙ Bull Dog

When the Pony Express ownership wants to move the mail route north through Sioux burial lands, they send a college boy - Ambrose - to secure the arrangement. Ambrose has a serious case of hero worship for Hickok and, despite his naiveté, he refuses to be a pawn to anyone's manipulative plans.

S1.E20 ∙ Matched Pair

An old friend betrays Hickok and they resort to a gunfight in order to bring justice to an outlaw land owner.

S1.E21 ∙ Man Behind the Badge

A corrupt businessman from Sam's violent past, Van Dorn, arrives in Sweetwater as the saloon's new owner. Van Dorn's henchmen are appointed as the town's new racketeering law enforcers, ousting Sam Cain as marshal. When Sam is accused of murder, Teaspoon, the Riders, a reluctant witness, and an alcoholic lawyer come to his aid.

Teaspoon joins with an old friend from his days as a Texas Ranger in an attempt to intercept a murderer who is killing off the remaining survivors of the Alamo.

S2.E1 ∙ Born to Hang

Stagecoach Sally, a woman raising money to send escaped slaves back to Africa, is robbed, and the riders try to help her recover her stolen gold.

S2.E2 ∙ Ghosts

The Buzzard, a creepy man from Teaspoon's past, shows up with his evil looking dog and creates misery for those who cross him. The young riders aid Rachel by taking on the Browning clan, one who she's accused of killing.

S2.E3 ∙ Dead Ringer

Hickok learns he has a doppelganger using his identity and with Teaspoon's help works to expose him. Cody thinks he's cursed so Buck tells him of a ritual that will cure him.

S2.E4 ∙ Blood Moon

The citizens of Sweetwater are on edge due to a cholera outbreak and look to anyone to place the blame on. They target a defenseless mentally handicapped boy and it's up to the boys to protect him.

S2.E5 ∙ Pride and Prejudice

When Thompkins' wife and daughter who were taken by Indians years ago are found, they return to him. But also with give is a boy whom his wife says was fathered by the Indian who took them. Upon learning this, he pushes them away. His daughter wants to go back cause she is betrothed to a member of the tribe. And if she doesn't go back he will come after her.

S2.E6 ∙ The Littlest Cowboy

Ike is beaten by some ruffians because of his deafness and becomes bitter about life. He meets young Arthur, who is terminally ill but remains excited about everything and is thrilled to meet his heroes, the riders.

S2.E7 ∙ Blood Money

The Kid brings in suspected horse thief Dyson to Sheriff Lambert but the prisoner dies in custody. Lambert, who's extorting the town's citizens, finds himself up against the dead man's family and the other riders when the truth comes out.

S2.E8 ∙ Requiem for a Hero

Cody's hero (Pernell Roberts), a legendary figure from the Old West, teaches him about responsibility.

S2.E9 ∙ Bad Company

Guilty over the accidental shooting of a young woman, Hickok seeks death as the sheriff of a lawless town.

S2.E10 ∙ Star Light, Star Bright

Hickok's kindness brings good fortune to the riders when a grateful old prospector named Cyrus deeds half of his gold mine to them.

Cody is asked to join a group of traveling actors, unknowingly taking part in a plot to assassinate a U.S. general.

Teaspoon draws the assignment of rebuilding a way station destroyed by renegades. He and the riders relocate to Rock Creek, a new territory for them to make their way in, getting to know the new neighbors.

Young Jesse vows revenge after the murder of his foster father Doc but the riders try to disuade him. Someone also wants Jesse dead so his new friends protect him. Noah deals with ugly racial comments from Jarvis.

Hickok, Lou and the Kid tangle with a vengeful ex-lawman while escorting a desperado to his execution.

S3.E4 ∙ Between Rock Creek and a Hard Place

The riders become involved in a murder investigation when a Union Army recruiter is found stabbed following an argument with Noah.

S3.E5 ∙ The Presence of Mine Enemies

Ike is romancing Emily Metcalfe whose father has been feuding with shady gambler Neville. Emily vows revenge when Neville shoots her father but it's Ike who pays when trying to protect his girlfriend.

S3.E6 ∙ Survivors

Cody wants the reward the Army is offering regarding their weapons theft. He falls for a widow Julia, with her son Danny, who wants to break with her husband's gun running gang. Buck grieves the loss of his friend Ike.

S3.E7 ∙ The Initiation

Hickok brings in Frank James after a bank robbery and Frank sees it as an opportunity to get Jesse to join as part of his gang. Teaspoon appeals to Jesse to stay with friends instead of choosing family and their criminal ways.

S3.E8 ∙ Just Like Old Times

The Kid meets an old girlfriend and realizes that adult experiences change one's perceptions of youth.

S3.E9 ∙ Spirits

With Teaspoon and others away, Noah heads a slim crew. Rachel falls for an injured Mike Stolder who they learn has a drinking problem. Murderous horse thieves trail him for revenge. Jesse wants to grow up too fast.

S3.E10 ∙ A Tiger's Tale

Noah and Cody have the unusual task of escorting a tiger, two nuns and Elizabeth, a novice. Cody falls for Elizabeth, tries to disuade her from taking vows while they fight off hunters wanting a tiger hide. Jesse gets a crush on Louise.

S3.E11 ∙ Good Night Sweet Charlotte

Lou's past haunts her when her friend Charlotte arrives, followed closely by Wicks a man who hurt them both. After Charlotte mysteriously dies, Lou tells Rachel everything. Hickok tries to help an injured Lakota, Red Sky.

S3.E12 ∙ Song of Isaiah

Isaiah Burke and wife Rosemary are abolitionists trying to lead a group to freedom but slave catchers are close behind. Hickok helps them out but also falls in love with Mrs. Burke. Isaiah is captured and must be rescued by the riders.

S3.E13 ∙ Spies

The Kid helps out Margaret but the act of kindness connects him to a plot to steal a gold shipment. Both sides on the slavery issue want the money to help their cause and are willing to use any means necessary to get it.

S3.E14 ∙ Shadowmen

Teaspoon falls for Miss Marie who claims to be destitute because of a robbery. But Jesse and Bill learns she has a connection to an outlaw gang. Hickok seeks vengeance outside the law after a child is murdered.

S3.E15 ∙ Mask of Fear

Jesse has a new boss in Fury, a gruff man who is the father figure the lonely boy is looking for. But Jesse finds him murdered right after the return of Tarkoski from prison and the others have to stop an act of revenge.

S3.E16 ∙ Dark Brother

Buck encounters Camille, about to wed Bill Barlow, who he left behind when they ran across buffalo hunters. She was Little Feather then and when she seems possessed Buck takes her to find a Native American healer to heal her.

S3.E17 ∙ The Road Not Taken

Cody has written a story about the riders and the rest take exception about how they are portrayed when it's published. Jimmy and Jesse take after cold blooded killer Dobbins who's after a widow and her son Seth.

S3.E18 ∙ The Sacrifice

Teaspoon and Jimmy save African American Edward from a lynching. It brings their disagreement over the South and slavery to a head. The Kid's proposal to Lou is stopped by a gunfight and a prisoner named Dawkins who's help they need..

S3.E19 ∙ Lessons Learned

Killer Randle is seeking vengeance against Marty who testified against him and Teaspoon is unable to prevent it. His ex-love Polly and a lawman friend also arrive in town. Buck and Cody take off after Randle followed by Teaspoon to get justice.

S3.E20 ∙ The Debt

Jimmy trains a new rider Matt who on an ride meets a terrible end at the hands of the Garrett family. Jimmy finds a town in terror but with Lou's unexpected appearance faces the killers. Lou fears the changes marriage to Kid will bring.

S3.E21 ∙ 'Til Death Do Us Part: Part 1

The Riders prepare for the upcoming nuptials of The Kid & Lou while those around them brace for the Civil War, some signing up to join the Army.

S3.E22 ∙ 'Til Death Do Us Part: Part 2

War arrives on the plains forcing the riders to choose sides. Cody joins the Union army while Frank returns for his brother Jesse. A deadly encounter with renegade Rebels leaves the Riders intent on justice for a fallen comrade.
