Cindy adjusts to the apartment and her new secretarial job. However, her boss at work wants more than just a secretary and makes Cindy run personal errands for him. Jack stands up for Cindy, but inadvertently gets her fired.

When Janet's parents arrive, Jack and Cindy learn that her parents think that she and Jack are married. And when they stay, she and Jack have to keep up the charade which includes them sleeping together which is awkward.

Cindy is being pursued by a guy who doesn't take no for an answer. Jack decides to go on their date posing as her brother to tell him she doesn't want him. But the guy is so wealthy, Jack can't help but be impressed.

When Furley refuses to stand up to his brother and tell him that he has to fix the apartment building, Jack goes and talks to him. The guy is impressed with Jack that he makes him the new building manager leaving Furley out in the cold. They try to come up with a plan to get him alone so that Furley can finally stand up to him.

The girls think Jack does not do his share of work, and Jack thinks they are taking advantage of him. Larry has the solution - Jack stays at Larry's place, and Larry stays with the girls. Soon, everyone wants what they originally had.

Jack teaches a cooking class and Janet attends. He tells her that she will not get any special attention. However, Jack does give special attention to another student - the Dean's niece. Betty Jean hopes to get an A in class.

Lilly the barmaid is pregnant and deserted by the father, so Cindy vaguely complains to the roommates about men and pregnancy. As a result, Jack and Janet think Cindy is the one pregnant.

The Ropers make a surprise visit after their latest spat. Jack and Janet try to get them back together again.

When Furley's attractive niece is visiting, Jack wants to go out with her but can't because Furley thinks he's gay. So Jack pretends he has a lookalike brother visiting from Texas named Austin. Furley buys it, but things get complicated when Furley wants to spend time with both Jack and Austin.

Jack and Larry notice a gorgeous woman at the bar, but also notice her dangerously jealous boyfriend. Jack is concerned, but Larry keeps egging the boyfriend into a fight. The girlfriend seems to pursue Jack.

Jack has a dinner date planned with Janet, but Larry comes in and offers him a date with "Greedy Gretchen" if he can hook Larry up with Terri. Jack convinces Terri to go out with Larry, but that leaves Janet without a date, so Larry pays Mr. Furley to go out with her.

Dr Miller, a psychiatrist from the hospital, tells Terri he is stressed out. Terri invites him to dinner at her place to get a break from his patients. Misunderstandings arise when Jack and Janet think he is an escaped mental patient.
S6.E8 ∙ Eyewitness Blues
While Jack waits for Janet at the flower shop, the place is held up. They report the crime to the police, and Jack has his picture taken and put in the paper as a witness. A policeman guards Jack at the apartment since he is a marked man.
S6.E9 ∙ Boy Meets Dummy
Mr. Angelino's daughter Francesca visits the restaurant and meets Jack. Mr. Angelino warns Jack to keep away from his daughter, but she pursues him, so he pretends he is married to discourage her.
S6.E10 ∙ Dates of Wrath
Janet is interested in the bartender at the Regal Beagle, but is afraid to ask him out. She talks to the bartender and accidentally tells him to ask Terri on a date.
S6.E11 ∙ Macho Man
A guy gives unwanted attention to Terri and she uses karate when he starts to get surly. Jack asks Terri to teach him some basic moves. Eager to use his skills, Jack tries to stop someone he thinks is a burglar, but is really a cop.

Jack mistakenly serenades the wrong girl, winning the affections of a plump woman.
S6.E13 ∙ The Matchbreakers
A woman stops to look at the apartment building. She and Mr. Furley flirt, then start dating. After a few weeks, the trio wonders why she is interested in Furley and think she wants his money. Turns out she wants to buy the building.
S6.E14 ∙ Oh, Nun
Jack believes that Terri's nun friend has fallen in love with him.
S6.E15 ∙ Maid to Order
Jack convinces Janet and Terri to hire their former roommate Cindy as a maid to clean the apartment. It does not work out.
S6.E16 ∙ Hearts and Flowers
Janet's company has sent efficiency expert Bobbi Willard to her flower shop to monitor and critique her performance; it has been driving Janet crazy as she sees it as nitpicking. Jack takes Bobbi out to lunch, which doesn't help. Janet finally has enough and quits. With Mr. Furley's help, Terri hatches a plan to get Janet's job back and Bobbi out of her life.
S6.E17 ∙ Urban Plowboy
Larry pretends he is Jack to go out with a woman, who turns happens to be engaged. When the woman's fiancé hears of the date, he goes after Jack - the real Jack. Jack escapes by joining Janet & Terri on a farm owned by Cindy's aunt.
S6.E18 ∙ A Friend in Need
Jack's friend asks Jack to be a substitute chef for a few days. Even though Jack was fired from Angelinos, he agrees. A mobster eats at the restaurant and enjoys Jack's food. The mobster insists Jack be hired and the other chef fired.
S6.E19 ∙ Jack's 10
Jack meets a beautiful woman who also happens to be rich. They continue to date for weeks and Jack is smitten. Denise has plans to mold him into the perfect man with dress, actions, and a new career for her spouse.
S6.E20 ∙ Doctor in the House
Jack's grandfather visits and is under the impression that Jack is a doctor. He wants to visit the hospital where Jack works. Terri tries to help Jack pull off the lie.
S6.E21 ∙ Critic's Choice
A food critic's article says there are no great food chefs in the city. Janet & Terri encourage Jack to invite the critic to the apartment to review his food for the newspaper. The critic comes, but seems more interested in the gals.
S6.E22 ∙ Paradise Lost
Upon the discovery of Jack, Janet and Terri's planned move out of the apartment, Ralph Furley and Larry hatch a scheme to divide and conquer in order to keep them at their current location.

Jack escorts Janet to a dull private party but when Jack consumes a tranquilizer and alcohol he becomes the life of the party.

Joan, a friend of Jack & Janet stops at the apartment for a visit. She introduces her husband and says they met through a computer dating service. Jack & Janet each decide to try computer dating - and end up matched with each other.

Janet's male friend cannot go on a business date with her and her boss, so she asks Jack. Jack has a cold and the strong rum drinks make him loopy. In the morning, Jack wakes up in Janet's bed and doesn't remember what happened.
S7.E2 ∙ Jack Goes to the Dentist
Terri wants to break up with her dentist beau but can't seem to do it. Jack has a toothache so Terri arranges for her guy to see him. Although terrified, Jack reports to him and finds out he must return in a week for treatment. But just before his appointment Terri dumps the guy with Janet's help, and when he sees Jack in her place he assumes it's because of him. Unaware of what has happened, Jack goes for his appointment.
S7.E4 ∙ Extra, Extra
Upon learning that she and Jack live together, Janet's date, a reporter, wants to do an article about them, but when it comes out, it hints that something more is going on between Jack tells them to ignore it until the girls are being treated lewdly by men who read the article. And when guys think Jack is "the man", he doesn't deny it--until his girlfriend dumps him. Things get worse when Jack and Terri's mothers read the article and think it's best that they leave the apartment.
S7.E5 ∙ Jack Gets His Own Restaurant
Mr. Angelino has a vacant restaurant which he is trying to rent out. When Jack decides to get it, he jumps in without checking it out first. He discovers that it needs a lot of work so he pulls all of his money in the bank to use on the renovation. But he still needs to come up with the rent money and the bank won't grant him a loan.
S7.E6 ∙ Opening Night
Final preparations are underway to open Jack's Bistro. Larry is totally ineffective with repairs in the building and even has the flyer printed with the wrong date. No customers show up on opening night.
S7.E7 ∙ Cousin, Cuisine
Felipe asks Jack if his cousin can stay with him. When he sees how lovely she is, he lets her. Now she doesn't understand English too well. When Jack offers her a job at his restaurant, she misinterprets if as a proposal.
S7.E8 ∙ An Affair to Forget
Janet's friend Randy comes to town, and when Jack meets her, he is smitten. Janet is OK with Jack and Randy going out. Later, Janet and Jack find out Randy omitted one detail - she is married.
S7.E9 ∙ The Brunch
Jack learns that an ultra conservative minister is trying to keep his restaurant from getting it's wine license. Mr. Angelino tells Jack he knows the man and the reason is because the restaurant was once a hangout for hookers. So Jack has to try and convince the minister that the restaurant is respectable. Mr. Angelino's tells Jack to have a brunch at his restaurant and will invite the minister to show him his place is respectable. He asks Janet and Terri to come and dress conservatively. But things get hairy when an amorous newlywed couple who are waiting to go on their honeymoon come in and start making out. And Larry's date turns wild after he gets her drunk.

When Jack's kitchen help quits, Mr Furley immediately says he will do the job and Jack cannot say no. Mr Furley is not effective. Larry suggests hiring guitar player for background music. Larry decides to be the accompanist singer.

Larry's younger sister Diane is in town, and allows Jack to take her out, but they do not get back home until after 2AM and Larry is furious. especially after a miscommunication makes everyone think they did more than just go out.
S7.E13 ∙ Bob and Carol and Larry and Terri
At the bar, Carol tells Larry and Furley about an incident with a boat on the water. They leave the bar, but the story spreads around, with the details all switched around. Soon it becomes a story about Carol breaking up with her husband.
S7.E14 ∙ Going to Pot
A building inspector claims that there's a minor infraction at Jack's restaurant which gives him cause to have it closed unless Jack pays him off. The girls tell him to record the man soliciting a pay off. He calls the police and a detective comes and plays the tape, Jack leaves for a moment and the cop only hears Jack's earlier conversation with Furley about "pot" "from Mexico" that could be costly. So the police go after Furley.
S7.E15 ∙ Star Struck
Terri treats a man who is an actor on a soap opera. Later he asks her out, and she accepts. But what she doesn't know is that he prefers trashy women so the show is considering writing him off unless he appears to be respectable. After going out with him on one date, he proposes to Terri. While Janet is happy Jack is suspicious. Later he goes to Jack's restaurant with one of his girlfriends and Jack sees him.
S7.E16 ∙ Jack Goes the Distance
Mr Furley knocks over the drink of another patron at the bar. The guy is a bully who insults Furley. When Jack comes to Furley's defense, the bully challenges Jack to a boxing match at the local gym. Turns out the bully is a boxing champ.
S7.E17 ∙ Jack's Double Date
Janet & Terri make a bet that Jack cannot stay away from women for one week. Immediately the girls make him go with Mr Furley to the bar for Woman's Night. Furley meets a woman who has a friend for Jack. This causes Jack to lose the bet.
S7.E18 ∙ Janet's Little Helper
Jack and Terri believe that Janet is dating an 18-year old.
S7.E19 ∙ The Apartment
Jack works extra hours at the restaurant after it closes, so he sleeps in the vacant apartment above his Bistro. He finds Mr. Angelino there with a woman, having an affair. One night, Janet and Terri stop by and find Jack with the woman.
S7.E20 ∙ Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Larry buys a false mustache and thinks more women will fall for his lines. When Jack sees it works, he buys a mustache. He wears it home; Terri finds his new appearance makes him look like one of her former boyfriends. Terri falls in love.

Jack's old friend Bill comes to town. Jack worked with Bill as a cook in the Navy; Bill's a good cook, so Jack offers him a job at the Bistro, but Bill has his own devious agenda to getting a partnership in the Bistro.

Janet and Terri walk into a conversation, hear that someone is going out of business, and assume it is Jack's Bistro. They devise a plan to give Jack money to save what they think is his losing business, and Jack buys a leather coat.
S8.E1 ∙ Jack Be Quick
Jack's girlfriend wants him to be the father of her child but not get married which Jack believes in. He then leaves. Later she calls him to talk about it and when Janet hears it, she assumes that his girlfriend is already pregnant. So she tells Jack to go there and do the right thing, which he assumes is Janet telling him it's OK to father her child.
S8.E2 ∙ She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not
Larry visits Jack as he is cleaning the apartment and finds a magazine quiz about sleeping with a roommate. Larry and Jack assume Janet or Terri must have filled it out. Larry suggests they all go to a mountain cabin to figure it out.

Jack goes to the ATM to withdraw $100. The ATM malfunctions and gives him a $1,000. Jack leaves a message for the bank to return the money on Monday. He hides the money in the couch at home, not realizing Mr Furley is taking the couch.

Jack regrets sending a nasty letter to a popular food critic.

Larry uses Jack's chocolate-chip recipe to make cookies and enters them in a contest. Larry tells Jack that he won, but to accept the prize, he must dress as a woman. Naturally, there is more to it than that.

Jack's father makes a surprise visit and starts interfering in Jack's life. Jack Sr has lost his salesman job and tries to keep it from Jack. When Jack finds out, he gets his father something to do.

Terry thinks the only way she will get a promotion is if she has an affair with her boss, so Terry pretends to be married. When Dr. Kenderson and his wife show up at the apartment for dinner, Jack pretends to be the husband.

When they find a cat on their doorstep, they take it in, but unfortunately pets are not allowed in the building so they hide it. But when Furley sees it, he takes a liking to it and takes it in. But when an inspector his brother sent to see if all the rules of the building are enforced, he hides it. At the same time the cat's owner, a little girl, comes looking for it and when Jack asks for it Furley tells him that he took the cat to the pound. So they each get a cat for the girl. When the inspector arrives. they try to hide the cats.

Jack is in the hospital to have an unwanted tattoo removed but Janet and Mr. Furley think he is having surgery for a different reason.
S8.E17 ∙ Jack Takes Off
A pretty art teacher moves in next to the three, and Jack takes her classes in order to get close to her. He agrees to be a model but finds out he has to be nude. Embarrassing enough, but then Mr Furley joins the class.

Jack uses Janet's new car without permission and has an accident. He totals the car. When he in in the hospital, Terri overhears the wrong diagnosis and assumes Jack has amnesia. Jack plays along so he does not get yelled at by Janet.

Jack believes Janet's vase that she inherited is a priceless antique.
S8.E20 ∙ Cupid Works Overtime
Janet's boyfriend proposes, and she announces she is moving out. Jack is on an airplane and nervous. He meets Vicky, a stewardess, and everything goes wrong. He asks her to dinner for a second chance, but her father interferes.
S8.E21 ∙ Friends and Lovers: Part 1
Janet & Phillip plan for wedding at Janet's apartment. Jack wants to win the approval of Vicki's father. Mr Bradford tells Jack that Vicki is up for a promotion at work, in another state, and turned it down. Jack tells her to take it.

Janet is married and starts her new life. Terry announces she is moving to Hawaii. Vicki and Jack get back together but she does not want to get married. Since her parents divorced, she does not believe in marriage, but she will live with him.
